Good video Ger. The car looks very fresh for caliper seals to leak! Did you replace with a recon unit or brand new replacement? Whats your view on rebuilding the caliper in-house as in cleaning the pistons and replacing the seals?

      Hello Paul,
Believe it or not this was the 3rd caliper that this vehicle has had replaced, I was told by the customer that both front ones had failed before. I assume it must be reasonably common if that is the case.
This unit is a recon that comes with warranty, I don't replace seal myself as it literally can be done on the same day by swapping out a caliper like that, fast easy and under warranty, but if it was my own and time was not an issue (but usually always is) I might think about it.

did you need to fit new brake pads?any fluid contamination on the pads.

I would always recommend replacing the pads if fluid gets on them, in this case one pad had some fluid on it and the decision was made to only replace the caliper as the pads were fitted recently in another workshop.

M8 can't believe you showed how to replace brake pads but you left out the most important part how to bleed the twin bleed screws on the bimbo brakes so big let down and waste of time im sure for most who had to watch the vid then to find out you have left half the job out was disappointing

      Hello Tony,
Firstly I appreciate the comment and it is true for some people they will need to know every little detail, from early feedback on my channel and what people seemed to prefer was not to go in to every little detail as the videos get long and boring.
I try to compress my videos to show the main stuff and if I can help in the comments when I am free I always try to.
If more people would like that type video it is very easy do because I have all the footage and edit out plenty to make them less than 10 mins.
So for anyone reading it, like Tony's comment if you would prefer the video about 12-15 mins long with more detail.
All genuine feedback is useful. Thanks

I would always prefer a comment than a dislike, more frustrating to get dislikes with no bad comments at all :) Thanks for stopping in Conor
