From what I've learned recently, because we've been thinking about buying a donkey , is that they do kind of act like dogs and they protect chickens and livestock from coyotes and such just like dogs. Interesting fact they even protect chickens from strange dogs! Lol
@@dustinsidebottom4847 They can be very aggressive tho lol. They are extremely territorial. That's why they make good "guard dogs"- they will attack anything/anyone that enters their territory. If they don't like you, you will know about it. Be very careful. Don't expect your donkey to behave like the one in this video. Donkeys aren't like dogs. They dont give two hoots about pleasing you or being your friend. They are fantastic animals, but they require a lot of patience and a lot of work.

Et pourtant...ils sont bien plus intelligents que leurs cousins plus classieux et plus grands. Quand ils n'ont pas envie de faire quelque chose... ils ne le font pas. Les chevaux, plus impressionnants, obéissent pourtant la plupart du temps. C'est pourquoi, bien que j'aime tous les équidés comme pratiquement tous les animaux, j'ai une tendresse et une admiration particulières pour la gent asine.

Every animal (minus the tiny, always fearful ie squirrels or bun buns) I’ve known expressed themselves in full, complex ways similar to us people. I get some may ‘tap in’ to that more than others but if we feel, they all most certainly do too.

I couldn't agree more! I just love all animals! My little Ratt Terrier Cookie, who I had for just two months shy of her 12th birthday used to greet me with such excitement, and love, every single time I came home. It didn't matter if I was gone for a 12 hour shift at work or a 5 or 10 minute quick trip to the store. I lost her on January 7th 2021 and she was my best friend in the whole world. Her loss has left a huge void in me in so many ways. I hope to one day be able to adopt or rescue a dog but I don't know if I'll ever get over losing my Ms. Cookie. But I thank you for your wonderful comment! 👍❤⚘ ☮

They are very smart, if they don't see a reason to do something or they see ir as dangerous they won't do it.
People call them stupid, while they are smarter than horses (and sturdier than them too), it's just that people is used to do as they please with a animal without it complaining.

@@OrchidJayneas long as they dont sense anything bad conming off of people they are. Ive seen donkeys almost kill strangers that ended up trying to hurt their family. They are very very protective
