While this Jimmy Neutron reboot doesn't come from Nickelodeon themselves, it could work as a starting point for an actual show in the future. I think its not Jimmy Neutron without the uncanny valley feeling the 3D gave at some scenes.
Uncanny valley? Isn't that meant for motion capture stuff?
Even the jokes, especially Sheen, Carl and Hugh's scenes, still remain gold.
While i do prefer 2d animation over 3d animation i agree it wouldn't feel right for a jimmy neutron reboot to be 2d as i always felt like the 3d animation was part of the original show identity and is what made it stand out from other nicktoons at the time.

Doesn't "TMNT (2007)" and "Astro Boy (2009)" by Imagi Studios fall in the same category of the Uncanny Valley as well?
The designs for Cindy and Jimmy are my favorite and I do love the art style. If the show does come back, I will be surprised it comes back in a 2-D style.

Sure, the early 2000's cgi is part of what made the show so unique, but the short and these designs look really good, especially Goddard. I love all the subtle details. I think it could work as a full series.

People hate everything. Tbh, I'd be a bit disappointed if it came back in 2D because I think the 3D style was part of the charm, but I'd just be thankful if it comes back at all.
What I KNOW, is if this was the original animation & the 3D came after, EVERYONE would be trashing the CGI

My fear for if they make a reboot is that they will forget about everything Jimmy and Cindy went through to be together. Season 3 of the show had major character development. I don't want them to erase that

I wouldn't mind Jimmy coming back in that style and retcon that Planet Sheen show from existence. I did like how the Jimmy/Timmy Power Hour Trilogy swapped both 2D and 3D animation styles to see what they would be like. I wouldn't mind Jimmy getting an anime style look down the line.
Maybe they hit it with the Postal 3 treatment where it was just a dream, or better yet, it turns out to be just an explanation by Sheen, Sheen would be telling them about it as a thought, and then Jimmy would say something like "That's ridiculous Sheen"

It looks pretty good. Although, I feel like 3d animation is pretty core to the Jimmy Neutron identity.
Definitely gives it that late 2000s cartoon feel, lookin' all Flash and stuff. The CGI in the original show is more in line with that janky 1990s "look, CGI is so cool!" vibe, along with shows from Mainframe Entertainment.
This reminds me of a reboot of wow wow wubbzy somone is making on youtube! It's great to see other people bringing back our childhood!

I wouldn’t trust Nick, their track record on reboots hasn’t been that good. And most of them came off as inferior

This animation and design is lit 🔥!!! I'm not a fan of many reboots, but I'd be down to watch this if the original cast and writers return.
All I hope is that JN's revival would still be CGi, like originals, and even use same models, maps and props along with rendering of Planet Sheen. Other option is if Nick could give me and my team an opportunity to make an official reboot for JN. I already been preparing models and screenplays in case of such opportunity.

This looks awesome! As a kid, I didn't watch the original TV show on Nickelodeon but I enjoyed the movie (still do) & I am surprised that this is fan art. I legitimately thought this was a sneak peek for a reboot of Jimmy Neutron. I wish Kiana Mai, Bri Neumann, & Eric Brown luck in any future endeavors that they partake in.

I'm so happy the internet (or at least what i've seen) is being nice about this. I think it looks amazing but since it's an old beloved cartoon that was reanimated i was expecting the comments from that video to be "This looks cringy" or "cheap" or that the creator was just trying to get views from people's nostalgia but surprisingly people were pretty nice it really made me happy, restored my faith in humanity a bit :')
It's amazing how this reboot, despite ticking all the boxes of those simpler and watered down reboots made for other shows, actually has the opposite effect on its fandom - people actually really like it!
Since it remakes scenes from the original, the great writing and voice acting is kept, which is a huge part of why people loved the original; and while the artstyle is vastly different (and, well, down by one whole dimension) and what some could even assume to be "simpler"... the good and appealing redesigns, the expressive animations, and the amount of detail throughout the whole thing makes it all work very well - people can see that a lot of care was put in this artstyle, and it wasn't just made for the sake of being easier and cheaper to animate.
FUN FACT: We almost had a Jimmy Neutron reboot a few years ago! The cast was all in and ready, most of the executives were on board.
Except for one executive. That's all it took for the reboot to be shot down.

I know nick would never do it but my ideal jimmy neutron reboot would be for it to have a slightly more serious tone, it will start off with lighthearted stand alone episodes but as it goes on it becomes more serious and have bigger focus on story arcs.
I would also would love the reboot to add more depth to the characters and have them develop as people as the show goes on.
But that's just me.
