Best bike reviews out there. Nice riding and commentary, appreciate that quality. Good to know what to tell people, when you wanna sell one of those beasts :D PS: About those bontrager tires: They are mounted tubeless from factory and fit so well, that we didn't realize it until we found the tubeless milk in the package and finally filled them after the first ride. Actually crazy
@@LukasDePraga I'm a bicycle mechanic for 10 years, i know that. but they come tubeless from the factory without milk added and we just rode it for a 25mile ride without adding pressure or anything. If you don't add sealant you WILL leak, atleast a little bit. Every tubeless tire will "hold" air, i agree with that tho.
@@MaxMustermannnnnn I don't know, I'm having a biatch of a time trying to mount up Schwalbe tyres on my read Bontrager Carbon rims. Trying a last ditch effort on a Hans Dampf 2.35 x 28 soft and see how that goes. the 2.6's - owch but weirdly enough, the front rim - not a problem. Got a MM 2.6 soft easy up there. Not sure if it's a thicker rim strip in the rear wheel.
@@pierrebroccoli.9396 I‘ve never tried Schwalbe (because I dont like them) but the Barons are a pain. I broke 6 levers in 3 hours and I could not get them on. I went to my lbs and three different mechanics tried to mount the tyre. It took them over half an hour.
Just got a 7 and I will say it’s been amazing. Wish I coulda snagged the 8 for some upgrades but I took what I could find these days. I have zero complaints climbing and downhill is amazing. Super plush.
such a good trail and trail riding...I needed to watch the video for a second time to concentrate on what you were saying.... it is a great bike for sure and what really surprised me was the tires, it seems to be a very good option against Maxxis tires, light, easy-rolling with a ton of grip. The bike climbs well up but the front likes to "dance" a little bit, but it is something very normal with this amount of travel and with this geometry, but generally, it climbs pretty well. Great review though, keep it up!
still running my 2016 slash 8. they recently warranted the rear shock and triangle. along with the bike being insanely capable, their customer service was amazing! I’m definitely going to try to get this bike.
I've been waiting for this one. The new Trek Slash looks sick on paper and seems like it can be a big bike that is still very manageable while climbing. This and the new Wreckoning are high on the list for my next bike. I need to demo them because they both seem outstanding.
Everytime I watch your riding I just think WOW...You ride so insanely good..do you have your own channel? Would love to see more of your riding and could you please review the Norco Sight 2021 in L?
Love to see some comparison videos. Megatower V Sentinel for example. I find your videos to be the best for reviews, can’t wait for you to review the 2021 Commencal Meta AM.
Phillip1310 yeah I have one coming in november- yt takes a long time to get bikes in regularly and with all the new people getting into riding they are even more backed up
I have a 2021 9.8 and its awesome ! Smooth ride for sure . I'm older and don't hammer or shred like 40 years ago . However I do enjoy this bike . I wish they could take 2.6" tires front and back .
I get the feeling it’s as twitchy as the 2022 Remedy I had. I think you need to know how to tame these kinds of bikes or have a bit more experience to navigate certain familiar trails and even more so the new ones to discover. Am I wrong?
@@nickbroyles6584 the remedy rides a bit like a big slopestyle bike. If you want to jump, and do 90. Whips and all this stuff, the remedy is the perfect bike for you! (It is probably the most playful Enduro!) The shlash is to great. It's got a bit more playful as the 2020 shlash, has more travel and is faster then the remedy. So if you want to race or just don't jump that ofthen I would recommend the shlash for you. But I can say that the remedy has enough travel for hard downhill trails.
Spencer Johnson I guess we should be thankful we have a lot of trails n there are some good ones like Downieville Downhill n Flow but when you watch videos like this...it’s hard to not complain 😂 half the year the riding in CA is dusty as hell.
Just got an 8, these bars just have a strange angle on the tips. Has anyone else noticed it seams they are bent down. Swapping them out seams like the fox lol.
@@Excedorfine If it's still relevant, Enduro Mag said that ML is better balanced than L (they had a chance to test both sizes) and suggested sizing down if in doubt.
It went together easily in less than an hour. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Make sure the front fork is forward or the pedals will hit the front tire. Tires are both a little soft so it needs air before I ride it. The rear wheel didn't come with a clamp regular bolts hold it on. The front had the clamp. No scratches out of box. Rims are a little off with a slight wobble. They could have spent more time with the spoke tool fixing the run out. So far out of the box I'm happy with it. I did replace the pedals with a nice aftermarket set. After riding it a bit my A$$ is a bit sore so I ordered another seat. Overall I'm nearly 60 and didn't ride a bike in 30 years. I like my new 29" Schwinn. It will be used for casual rides with my friend.
I judge the bikes by the amount of laughs bro has per video. Bunch of laughs = rad rig.
I remember on the ibis mojo video he seemed to be having a good time🤙🏿
@@Jay_radd he did an Evil bike in recent past that seemed peek laughs but the trail conditions were superb as well that day.
@@flyingnorseman yeah he was losing his mind on the wreckoning. It was awesome
Just bought the Trek Slash 9.8 GX AXS gen 5 2023, What a dream! Just added stamp 1´s and Fidlock bottle. What a crazy CRAZY bike!

Most of the MTB tubeless tires will hold air even dry, that is not exceptional.. :)

You will have some „fun“ changing them. Worst Case: Conti Baron on Bontrager rims.

Picked up a new 2019 slash 9.8 for 2500, boy was it a steal, bike is stupid fast.
Would love to see the 2020 Norco sight reviewed.
Nice review. That front wheel needs its own zip code!
Your videos are awesome! Wondering how this compares to the spire?
How would you rate this compared to the Evil Wreckoning or Yeti SB150?
I’m having the same dilemma! Love the look of the yeti and the spec but I want it to be playful and fun, not just a race rig
How did it compare to the transition spire? Brilliant riding and commentary
Nice bike! How does it compare to the Enduro? More nimble?
Good job!
Good review of new Slash and compared to Spesh Enduro ua-cam.com/video/-JpazTiddYE/v-deo.html
