I went to the old American Girl Store there for my 10th birthday, crazy to think that was 8 years ago and now it's literally gone. So seeing the building that I barely remember is crazy, thanks for letting me see such a vague part of my childhood memories again
Oh man. I didn't know this was your childhood mall. I'm in COMO, two hours away and I remember coming to the Chesterfield Mall for black Friday in like, Jr. High
He says in the video that it's not his childhood mall and he hasn't been there before, so I don't know why the title says it is. It's still a cool video though.
It’s crazy that you’re in my neck of the woods, growing up my family loved shopping so we frequented this mall as well as some of the other big malls in STL!
My husband and I met here 7 years ago when we worked at hot topic together and up until it closed we played cards every Sunday. I love seeing what it looked like after we left❤️
I've shopped there many, many times...I had no idea it had been abandoned. Great video Josh, and thank you! V-Stock buys and resells books, games, action figures, and much more.
Yes that Scooter was already there. You can clearly see it when y'all all standing in that spot towards the beginning of the video. I wish the owner would donate all those books to a local library or school. And I keep thinking of soooooo many people that could use that bed! It's so sad!
I was so confused when I saw you said "My" mall. This would be like the third video with this title. Lol. Keep up the good work Josh!! Hope you're loving the bus life
Yea you just never know who else could be in an abandoned building while exploring... This explore is absolutely amazing to see everything that was left inside and wild that it's gone now and this building couldn't be saved for other uses! Great video and history and sadly malls are a thing of the past now.
It may be sad but just think of the new possibilities in that open space. It could be a bigger and better mall or other buildings bringing everyone together again🤷♂️ Sometimes it's good to have changed and get sum new things. Cherish the memories and never forget 🤙
My aunt had a store here, I went here all the time as a teenager, my daughter saw the Easter bunny and Santa here, we went to cheesecake factory all the time. It’s so sad 😞😞
Wow, I used to go to that V-stock store relatively often. It wasn't that long ago that I was there last, might've been this past year? But wow its so surreal seeing it so trashed with a ton of items left. V-stock is a franchise with a bunch of stores across the region so I'm quite shocked they haven't taken everything to other stores.
This was my childhood mall. So many wonderful memories, meeting girls and hanging with boys on a Friday night, it was before cell phones. We just had pagers, what a great time it was to be alive!
What's crazy is I was born in Chesterfield but it was in SC and there isn't even a Walmart let alone a mall 🤣🤣 I think it's cool to see what other chesterfields look like lol
Wow look at that giant empty parking lot.. so depressing. Hopefully they make that space a good community center instead of just another soulless strip mall
My hometown mall in Orange, CA was recently demolished as well. It always feels like signs of a bad direction for the state of the country. The mall land got too expensive => So rent inside went way up => So the only stores that could survive were ones that earned unfair levels of profit by selling cheap products at very expensive prices => So the mall became synonymous with over-priced goods => So people lost the desire to go.
this is so crazy to me, i go by this mall every time i go to my uncles house for christmas. i had no idea it was closed and being demolished, that’s so sad :( last time i went by there were still i think 3 or 4 stores open but almost entirely abandoned at that point
V Stock is short for Vintage Stock. They had stores in Oklahoma, Missouri and Texas. They are still around. Vintage Stock carried Comics, Consoles of the past and present, games, models, books, DVD's, VHS tapes, Laser Discs. You name it they had it!:)
I used to work at the cheesecake factory there as a baker in 2022. It was my first job after graduating high school. I still live near, it about 15 min away.
What’s weird is I just came there with two of my abandoned friends about 3-4 months ago in August and now it’s gone. Growing up here living here having my first kiss here lmao what a crazy time living in Chesterhood 😂
Seeing malls abandoned just breaks my heart truly. Idk what it is about it but it makes me cry a bit 😂😅. Part of me thinks it might be because of a time frame in life that was amazing an never will be like that again
Really do love these videos Josh, it’s always been my dream to do this. I try to explore as many places I can here in the UK safely, would love to go to some of the places you’ve been, honestly is amazing to see thank you for the content! 😊
I used to go here all the time as well as the St.Louis Mills Mall that has also closed down. Now the only malls around here are Mid rivers, St.Louis Galleria, West county. There is a South county mall but that one never has many people like the others. Also the AMC part the lat movise ive seen there was the Blackpink documentary that came out.
No shot the guy u watched and got me in the hobby is from my home town and shopped the same mall I did growing up, and I’m always glad I got to go explore it as well before it was destroyed anyways good video
I hear you on, some say it's too old, or an eyesore, but this wouldn't have been here if someone before us built it, all that was left behind is seen in the video.
So sad to hear chesterfield is going to be destroyed :(, i’m glad you got to explore it one last time!! Mid rivers and Chesterfield were THE shit growing up, its sad to see their going down hill so fast. 💔
Who remembers Diamond Dave's Taco Emporium, First Wok, and York SteakHouse? The downhill slide started with the introduction of the food court back in the early nineties.
This was the mall I use to go to growing up and was so sad when they closed and still to this day I’m heartbroken! It was the best it had everything you could imagine I still believe they could have left this mall and been fine without adding any new malls. It had a 2 story carousel and the best stores!!
Hi there Josh l do like the video and my favorite childhood mall is the sunrise mall and that mall opened in 1982 and closed in two thousand something and it was a good place to go at the time and now it’s all boarded up
Oh, man. I live 5 minutes from there. I wish I knew you were there. Also, that restaurant that your smelling in the food court was a southern Indian cuisine restaurant.
One I life across the river in Illinois and 2 I used to be in junior achievement and we used to sell our products we made at all the malls over the 4 years I was in Junior achievement ! And I used to go to Chesterfield mall years ago when I lived in Creve Cour Missouri ! I miss that mall , another abandoned mall over there is Jamestown mall but they demolished that one from 2023 -2024 and now they’ll demolish this one 😢
Sad one Josh.. A Mall is a community. I can't understand how so many malls in the US are abandoned. Online shopping is not as much fun as shopping in a Mall.
@ I usually just go to west county mall now but i’m so scared to see it fail. whenever it does close down though id love to see you explore it bc there’s so much there
Josh, put Sarasota Florida on your list. In South Sarasota we have what used to be the mall to go to. It's not 100 percent abandoned, we only have AMC, Costco and JCPenney there. Soon it will be sold.
honestly, i think stuff like this is where i would give people a pass for just stealing some stuff. might as well take it home and give it a place rather than it just disappearing when the mall goes down.
I can’t believe it’s finally gone. This place was where you came to hang out when I was little. Crazy that you grew up coming here too!! What a small world!! So awesome you posted this 💕💕
This is happening all over far too much, I posted a comment saying it's terrible for the closing, and pretty soon there won't be anything left, some said shopping online caused it, but not really that much because the same items could be picked up or shipped from the mall, for the architecture you might see it somewhere else but, not the same with current materials, that do change every year, for those protecting the earth all this stuff when demoed it will seep into the ground around the area. The Mac cost a mint and is worth a good penny needed a desktop-type cord and mouse & keyboard unless you buy a Bluetooth version. Before I close the guy in the last shot probably will grab as much as he can to resell I'm sure. I wanted to repeat that The Shoppingtown Mall in Dewitt NY was closed and not demoed yet there is a stalemate with a store owner not giving up the space they owned.

I went to the old American Girl Store there for my 10th birthday, crazy to think that was 8 years ago and now it's literally gone. So seeing the building that I barely remember is crazy, thanks for letting me see such a vague part of my childhood memories again
NO WAY!!! this is my childhood mall... been watching you forever and hoping you would explore here.
@8:34
OMG this was my childhood mall. It makes me so sad to see it... I remember the big waterfall near the pet store with the puppies in the windows...
I love the nostalgia that comes with exploring an abandoned mall. Something so exciting but also warming & comforting about it. Great video, Joshy!
Totally!
Thanks for documenting this place where so many memories were made before it’s getting destroyed.
Oh man. I didn't know this was your childhood mall. I'm in COMO, two hours away and I remember coming to the Chesterfield Mall for black Friday in like, Jr. High
Oh man I went to this mall twice in from JC btw
I’m also in Como, went there cause Como mall sucked. And went right after it closed down just to see it one more time, didn’t get home until 5ma 😂
Oh boy!
He says in the video that it's not his childhood mall and he hasn't been there before, so I don't know why the title says it is. It's still a cool video though.
Sucks COMO mall is dying too
It’s crazy that you’re in my neck of the woods, growing up my family loved shopping so we frequented this mall as well as some of the other big malls in STL!

I wish the owner would donate all those books to a local library or school. And I keep thinking of soooooo many people that could use that bed! It's so sad!
The amount of movies I’ve seen over the years there and the amount of money spent over the years. It will definitely be missed :(
I was so confused when I saw you said "My" mall. This would be like the third video with this title. Lol. Keep up the good work Josh!! Hope you're loving the bus life
this is literally so sad, I used to go here all the time, I remember playing pickleball on the courts 😭😭
this is what I miss from this channel. Amazing episode dude feel like I'm in my teens again and wanting to do this stuff like this.
Yea you just never know who else could be in an abandoned building while exploring... @@ethandolinski5921 I'm pretty sure it's gonna be the new downtown area.
Love these abandoned mall videos!
I miss malls, I hate online shopping 😢
💯agree
My aunt had a store here, I went here all the time as a teenager, my daughter saw the Easter bunny and Santa here, we went to cheesecake factory all the time. It’s so sad 😞😞

I'm a Missouri girl! Been here a few times!!! Love the nostalgia!! Amazing treat for a Sunday..thanks Josh ❤❤❤❤

What's crazy is I was born in Chesterfield but it was in SC and there isn't even a Walmart let alone a mall 🤣🤣 I think it's cool to see what other chesterfields look like lol
We used to go to the Williams Sonoma store around 2013 it was closed. We used to get cooking lessons there.
so glad I found this channel again. used to be my favvvvv videos!
I’m gonna miss this place big time so many memories here
Wow look at that giant empty parking lot.. so depressing. Hopefully they make that space a good community center instead of just another soulless strip mall
My friends and I used to ride our bikes to the arcade at that mall! Lots of memories
Should take all the books & donate them to local charity shops, schools etc
You guys got my heart pumping with that escape at the end there.
This is also one of my childhood malls, the others were mills mall and mid rivers. I also occasionally went to Jamestown mall.
I really miss the mall so many good memories from the 90s and 00s
i love your exploring abandoned places videos so much josh!! the way you articulate your videos and your commentary is amazing!!!
I used to go to vstock all the time, they have stores in other nearby malls, crazy to see everything go.
wow this mall is huge. some abandoned places are so cool to explore. be safe and take good care of yourselves. 🖤😱😯✌🏻
Hi Josh. I’ve been watching you for a longtime you are awesome
I hope all those books were collected and donated. If not, that's so sad for them to go to waste.
My hometown mall in Orange, CA was recently demolished as well. It always feels like signs of a bad direction for the state of the country.
The mall land got too expensive => So rent inside went way up => So the only stores that could survive were ones that earned unfair levels of profit by selling cheap products at very expensive prices => So the mall became synonymous with over-priced goods => So people lost the desire to go.
hell yeah i love abandoned malls
this is so crazy to me, i go by this mall every time i go to my uncles house for christmas. i had no idea it was closed and being demolished, that’s so sad :( last time i went by there were still i think 3 or 4 stores open but almost entirely abandoned at that point
this was very coo, I was at the edge of my seat watching you guys try to escape the mall.
V Stock is short for Vintage Stock. They had stores in Oklahoma, Missouri and Texas. They are still around. Vintage Stock carried Comics, Consoles of the past and present, games, models, books, DVD's, VHS tapes, Laser Discs. You name it they had it!:)
i remember going to the amc there with my grandparents when i was young
I used to work at the cheesecake factory there as a baker in 2022. It was my first job after graduating high school. I still live near, it about 15 min away.
I still can’t believe the last time I went and over half the mall was shut down 😭💔
North West Plaza was my childhood mall. I probably went to the chesterfield mall maybe twice.
The mall in Bridgeport WV is still going strong and is pact with people everyday!!!!
So crazy to see what this place used to look like! Thanks for preserving it ✌🏼
What’s weird is I just came there with two of my abandoned friends about 3-4 months ago in August and now it’s gone. Growing up here living here having my first kiss here lmao what a crazy time living in Chesterhood 😂
Seeing malls abandoned just breaks my heart truly. Idk what it is about it but it makes me cry a bit 😂😅. Part of me thinks it might be because of a time frame in life that was amazing an never will be like that again
i have to say it infuriates me how much useful stuff gets left behind to rot , what a freaking waste.

That's crazy this is your home town! I never knew! I'm 10 min from there. Used to go to that mall all the time
It’s sickening to just demolish this mall. That’s how wasteful some are! Soon this won’t be happening.
I hear you on, some say it's too old, or an eyesore, but this wouldn't have been here if someone before us built it, all that was left behind is seen in the video.
Great video as always Josh x
Dave is so nice, he went right to the guy at the end❤
So sad to hear chesterfield is going to be destroyed :(, i’m glad you got to explore it one last time!! Mid rivers and Chesterfield were THE shit growing up, its sad to see their going down hill so fast. 💔

I hope the mall where me and my long distance boyfriend always go to never leaves. One place can have a lot of meaning.

48 year old mall
Looking very good x
Wow home townhome and loved mall is actually on here and it’s so sad
This was my Mall. It is still standing and hasn’t been knocked down yet.
I think they have started to take some of it down. I drive by it a few times a week. But rarely anything has been taken down
500 people in 7 minutes , Wow !! 😳
Thank you for a excellent video ❤❤❤❤love your channel ❤❤❤
honestly, i think stuff like this is where i would give people a pass for just stealing some stuff. might as well take it home and give it a place rather than it just disappearing when the mall goes down.
V stock was my favorite store that you explored in this mall even thow I never heard of v stock store before
I can’t believe it’s finally gone. This place was where you came to hang out when I was little. Crazy that you grew up coming here too!! What a small world!! So awesome you posted this 💕💕
I live so close to this mall, when I was a kid we’d wander with our friends here for hours 😢
