The area between the upper hind leg and the ribs is a high cut area. Purchasing a book on how to cut dog hair would really help.
Poppy is certainly well behaved, but I have never seen a dachshund groomed like this.

Thank you for the video. I have a long-hair Dachshund as well. I would love it if Shirley would be as patient as Poppy when grooming her. To even brush Shirley, it is a two person job.
I have a boy version of this doggie. His name is Charlie, he's abt 13 yrs old (human yrs), & is a sweet lovable pooch. Thanks for posting this video, cuz i was looking into hrooming him myself, as its very expensive to get him a full grooming service, which is abt $80-100 depending where i go.

I’m going to trim my little one myself. I’ve been a vet tech over 30 years. I’ve had a groomer nick het in her arm pit. That skin there in the front and back legs are real tricky so be careful. You didn’t really trim her all over and I won’t either. I’m comfortable doing what you did. I trim between her little beans on her toes but I’ve had training for it. They can get mats in there and it hurts. Thanks so much for this video. ❤

She’s 100%. I have one that looks just like her. They vary within the breed a little. Just like people. Mine is longer but she gets it from her dad. Her mom was like Poppy.

No clippers on dachshunds please! Look up how to groom dachshund show dogs. Also, not sure this is a full dachshund. She seems like she has a nice temperament.
