I didn't see what was so bad about Total's performance before Da Brat came out. Sure, they weren't the best vocalists, but they weren't horrible and at least they were singing live(unlike a lot of so-called artist of today.) It definitely got more hyped up when Da Brat came out but all in all I thought it was a good performance.
By modern standards they weren't terrible but the standard of black talent was a lot higher from the 60's to 90's. A lot of artists were developed and trained for years before being in the public eye. The vocals were terrible considering the fact they were getting paid as professional singers. I actually liked Total but as singers they weren't good their image sold the act.

All of them can sing. All of them are in key. It’s either garbage equipment, mics speakers Or .... someone 😑 seemingly trashes their background music! Like bad! And trust not all background musics of the same song sound the same. It’s like some one was trying to sabotage them on several occasions- Occasions such as live TV where they can’t stop the whole show and say hey you need to fix that so it be right on. Not to mention it is near impossible to sing on point in key in tune the entire time your background music is out of tune or off key try it it will actually drive you insane you want to make it stop because it’s making you sound bad. So really these three are some soldiers in my opinion because they just kept on straight through trying to play it off professionally unfortunately for them it just comes across as they can’t sing and that is 100% not the case.
I see why Keisha don't want too get back with Total, after watching several performances and seeing how the audiences wasn't feeling them, she probably dont want too go back to that. Even though most singers dont sing live nowdays and if you sound like shit they can autotune you and make you sound like something. The only one who really sound the same is Pam I think that's her name. Lol Keisha was the looker out of the group though.
