An excellent demonstration of what an American family farm truly is. Appropriately sized, well maintained equipment. And those 10 wheelers!! Take me back to when we farmed with pride.
I envy the job you have of finding these machines and hanging around to film them. Reminds me of childhood in the 70's and 80's when my brother and I were standing at the edge of any field being worked waiting for the operator to invite us on for a ride. Great times!!
So much nostalgia associated with this particular model. My uncles had two of these when I was growing up and I would always ride along during harvest. These things just never quit!
Well cared for equiment. Good to see old iron in the field and on the road moving crops. Thank you to the farmer for letting us look at your equipment.
I always like finding classics to film. You may remember seeing this farm last year running a nice 4420 combine in wheat. The 9500 is new for harvest 2020.
I sure wish you could interview the operators of the equipment. The gentleman in this video seemed like he would tell us the history of this machine. The combine and trucks were all in great condition. I understand if they don’t want to talk but this man seemed like he would.
Wow! That combine is in great condition also that truck that it was dumping into was also super nice! Great job with the videos, keep up the good work!
A very nice older combine and head. Over the years I have owned and run a 95, 6600, 6620, 7720, 9500 and now an S670. My 9500 is still running for another owner with over 10,000 engine hours and 7,000 seperator hours!
Ours 95 9500 is still our main combine. 2486 sep hours. It is a corn special with the 9600 engine. Did 350 acres a year till 2010. Now we're doing 700 ac with an 2007 893 corn head. Thanks for the vid. I believe ours may be the lowest hour 9500 in Canada.
Great video! I enjoyed a ride y esterday in a 9500 during soybean harvest in west central Minnesota. Our renter just got this machine last fall and is very happy with it. He did a nice job of explaining operations while I was in the "buddy seat". Fun!
Love 9000 series combines. First learn how to combine corn in a neighbor's 9400, combined corn quite a few times with dad's 9500, went on wheat harvest in summer of 2010 from southern Oklahoma to South Dakota with a 9600.
Good job finding that clean looking and working 9500! Always thought a lot of the maximizer machines. First one I was in was a brand new 9400 when they came out we hired our cutting done that year. Guess I still have a soft spot for the conventional cylinder machines. Also a thumbs up on that slick ln8000 truck too!!
For my Farming Simulator 19 friends, SiiD Modding has made an immaculate 9510 Maximizer, and it is detailed to the max! Even the overhead console lights alert you to various things, and the cab has a slight shake to it when you kick on the header. If you want to experience this machine for yourself, that's the mod to get! Thanks for sharing BTP!
Nice video... We have a 9500 combine that we use in Tanzania East Africa to harvest Safflower and Corn, It's a very good machine. We also have a extension for the grain tank.so we can take 5400 kg. safflower. It's a great challenge with very dusty conditions, the radiator have to be cleaned every hour.. Welcome to Tanzania and have a look..
This 9500 is in great shape. The 9500 combine was a one owner machine. This farmer just bought it from the original owner to replace a very very nice 4420 combine.
I've operated the 7720, 7700 combines back in the early 80s before leaving the farm in 86 to go full time in an agricultural based career in the city about 45 minutes from where I use to farm.
That is about as clean and straight of a vintage model year, 1993 combine inside and out that you'll probably ever see! Correct me if I am wrong, but this about the third time you have previewed this farmer's combine and truck, everything seems familiar. Still enjoyed the video whether the first or third time viewing.
First combine that I ever rode in and was also the combine that got me hooked was 542 cockshutt. After that of course, was the Massy's (which were very popular in my area, then the deeres' which I run now. 1st' 7700 2nd 7720 3rd 9610
A friend of mine used 9400 a 9500 9600 John Deere combine he does cutting for guys around the area in pennsyliva he start with the 9400 for a couple years then moved up to 9500 then a couple years later buoght the 9600 him nd dad ran the 9500 nd 9600 cutting for guys around the area
Coming from Southern albera, an 18 foot header is only for haying, a 9500 here runs a 22-30ft header. I have rana case ih 1660 with a 30 Ft header for years even in a good crop for us 45-60bu/ac. From what i have found with our old 1660 and my uncle and cousins 9500 the 1660 has got way more capacity
I wonder, can you tell the difference between a grain sample out this old thing and a sample out of a new giant one?? Both are good machines but just wondering?? Great to see older machines getting the job done! Thanks. Nice looking wheat 🌾.
The aim is always to get as good a sample as possible without any loss. The old stationary threshers did an excellent job. The older combines required manual fine tuning for good results and thus results could vary as the day wore on. Whereas the latest combines will adjust themselves as conditions change. IMHO anyways.
I work on a farm that has a 9500 and a 9600 maximiser combine and an 18 and 20ft JD headers and 6 row corn headers and the 9600 has an expansion to 330 bushel grain tank there fun to ride in but I've yet to operate one
Great video. Do you know why John Deere produced different combines for Europe at that time? When Maximizer was running in America, in Europe there were the "Z series" (2066, 2266...) combines which looked very similar to the Maximizers. I don't know what was the reason to do that. Does anyone know this maybe?
I currently run a 4400 but would love to have a 9400 someday. Really like the Chevy at the end of the video you could do a video on those and I think it would be a big hit. What kind of planting equipment does this farm use
Good question. The reel sweeps the crop into the header. If it was just the sickles the crop could fall forward or bunch up. The reel guides the cut crop to the feeder house that pulls the material into the thresher.
My favorite Harvester. Here in Sinaloa it's the Queen of the Harvesters. And Even have a saying. If You eat si much que Say. You eat as much as a 9500 🤣😂
Why would one farmer harvest wheat and leave virtually no or very small stalks in the field and another farmer harvest wheat and leave a foot or so if stalk?
Here in WKY it depends on how the farm plants soybeans. All the wheat acres going into a second crop of soybeans. Planters are set up differently to no till through straw and stubble.
I am not a farmer. I play Farming Simulator. My question is about wheat chaff and straw. In the game I just need to push a button to switch from spreading the straw to laying down a swath that I can come back and bale. Is there any reality to this?
An excellent demonstration of what an American family farm truly is. Appropriately sized, well maintained equipment. And those 10 wheelers!! Take me back to when we farmed with pride.
We run a 7720 and a 920f down here in South Carolina. Run wheat corn soybeans and milo.
This mans equipment is extremely nice looking. Keep in up sir
The combine looks new👍 Old iron still gets the job done😉
Thanks for sharing👍
We’ve got a 9600 and it has been a hell of a good combine.
We have one in Australia with a 930 head, ripper machines
I got a chance to film a 9600 in corn last fall with a 1243 corn head. Very nice combine.
I envy the job you have of finding these machines and hanging around to film them. Reminds me of childhood in the 70's and 80's when my brother and I were standing at the edge of any field being worked waiting for the operator to invite us on for a ride. Great times!!

Very cool. I hope to get to film small grains windrowing and harvest someday.

Most reliable series made. Hang onto them!

The 9500 is a nice combine. The Ford Louisville truck is a stand out.
You make living off the land look so enjoyable

Love to see those old tandem axle grain trucks, loved riding in those as a kid
These were great JD machines. Thanks for the great video.
The 9500 is one of the greats in John Deere combine history.

Thank you for sharing. The 9500 is a solid combine that just keeps going and going.
The farm just up the road from me had 2-9500's many years ago. They were a BIG step up from the TITAN II. This one here is in immaculate condition.
Very cool.
i vaguely remember being 3 years old riding on the buddy seat of my grandpa's 9510
I miss those days
It’s good to see some old school equipment! That farmer probably don’t have to go see the Banker once a week!! Thanks for sharing!
Great looking equipment it all looks new, good looking wheat too
I saw a few of these as a kid. They made these in the same town where International Harvester made their combine harvesters.
It is interesting that the Axil-Flow was built right next to John Deere’s combines through 2003.
We use a 9500 combine with a 922 header. Going to try to get back in the field tomorrow thrashing wheat.
Very cool.
Great video! That's definitely a classic for sure. Thanks for sharing! Have a great and awesome day!
Thank you for watching.

This 9500 is in great shape. The 9500 combine was a one owner machine. This farmer just bought it from the original owner to replace a very very nice 4420 combine.
Do you think its possible to capture a John Deere X9 combine?
have you seen cars? there's no way you can capture a combine. those things have a mind of their own.
Steven Leung Dad joke at its finest.
Yes stay tuned.

Awesome machine and video. Used to run a 9500 with a 30ft front here in Australia.
Very cool. I have not come across a 9500 with a 30ft head. 👍👍
Good video. We run a 9500 as well
😁👍
What a neat well maintained machine ,top marks to the owner.

9500JD Hillside. 1996. Had a '93 model too, machine shed fire put a end to that one.
Enjoy vid👍 my best mate has JD 9500 with bigger header. Driven 9600 harvesting lucerne, easy combine to operate.
We had a 1996 model 9500 had a 920 on it for wheat and for soybeans we used a 930 F used a 693 head for corn

I like the antiques too.
Finding classic combines is my favorite filming opportunities.
Ran a 9600 was a good machine I thought till I got on a 9860 STS and a case 2388 👍
The 9860STS is a good machine too as is the 2388.

Ran a 9510 harvesting alfalfa seed in Southern CA
Very interesting. How to you harvest alfalfa seed? Is it swathed like grass seed and picked up in a windrow or direct cut?
bigtractorpower we did both depending on the conditions.

Ah. So this is more or less the Deere version of the 1660. Interesting.
And fantastic work as always!
18th!! Old school to be sure! Actually pulling off the field to unload the grain tank--positively archaic!! Lol! Very interesting video.
A classic harvest for sure. It was great to film.
Awsome video.
Thank you for watching.

Thank you for watching.
The only Combine I have drivin is our Family's Gleaner R55 Combine. I did get to ride in a friends John Deere 3400 Combine with a 6 row Corn Header

My favorite combine is a 9600
What's the purpose of the reels? I think that's what they are called. It doesn't seem like they really do much.
Good question. The reel sweeps the crop into the header. If it was just the sickles the crop could fall forward or bunch up. The reel guides the cut crop to the feeder house that pulls the material into the thresher.

Was that a rotary combine?
Where are the Deere combines in Europe manufactured?
John Deere builds T and W combines and self propelled forage harvesters at the Harvester Works located in Zweibrücken, Germany.
For a sec I thought you were in Kansas with the Peterson farm bros 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Time for some new shoes, BTP. Lots of walking left to do this year
Yes it is. These were new in February. My truck tires at least go about a year.

Tractor Houses website has several 9500 combines listed for sale.
I own a 1997 SideHill 9500.
9500 in-laws upgraded to last year from a 7720
De cuantos pies es su cabezal?
Hello
Hi
That 7720's reel is a tad fast for soybeans isn't it? I could be wrong but I would think you'd beat out too many grains there instead of inside.
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it, although there are some nice new ones (:
I would like your job
I thought it was the wifey seat!?! 🤣
