That was my 1st modern SP combine. Used a 7721 PTO powered unit and opened everything up with a 4400, with no AC. Call me a baby, but the AC worked on the 4440, and the 4400 never had AC.
@@mikep7810 I farmed a long time before we could afford one. I'll never part with it, or my 4440 tractor. I think they wrote a country music song with those exact words as lyrics. LOL
I worked on harvest for a guy that had two 9600s and a 9500. The 9500 was a great machine that ran the 25ft rigid head with no trouble. It didn't like it too much though picking up 36ft swaths with the pickup attachments though.😂😂
How did oats do for you this year? I would have thought you would need the straw for bedding... I see you were spreading it on the ground... great video mike!
The first John Deere I operated was a 7720 . It's a bit different going from an offset header to the feeder house in the middle but I loved the newer 9500's. We did custom wheat harvesting for 5 years in 4 different states & then came home to do fall harvesting in our area . What size header is on your 9500 ?? Wonderful video !!
@@mikep7810 yes 2020 was tough. about 10 yrs ago my brothers bought a nice used 9600, then bought a used 12/23 planter to get the planting done quicker. They still use the old 6 row planter to plant 6 acres of sweet corn.
@@rtdavis62 I'd love a split planter to do 15 inch row soybeans! a 6/11 would be perfect! Eventually the plan would be to get a 6 row corn planter and keep our 4 row for sweet corn
No my friends. Idk how my comment was taken so out of context. I’m afraid we all are being doxed. How does a great family farm video channel be so misconstrued. I fear for our country!!!

That 9500 was a great upgrade don’t let Andy ruffle your feathers about the other combine thanks Mike 👍 😃😃😁😁
It definitely was a great upgrade. Haha I didn't see Andy ruffle my feathers about the other combine
@@mikep7810 I know Iam just giving some guff live your drone footage to 👍
The 9500 is a beautiful machine. Still run a 4420 myself.
It sure is. We ran the old 4420 for many years. Its a good machine
The 9500 gets the job done. Nice!
!
Thanks Don
Great camera shots Thanks Mike
Thanks Ames. I like to try to catch different angles
That Deere dealer in Fultonville still has a 7810 for sale 👍🏻😁

Thats a nice upgrade from a 4420! Your getting me excited to use my 9500 lol
It sure was! I can't wait to get back out there too
2020 sure had its ups and downs. The arrival of the 9500 was on the up side for sure
Well put Scott. It definitely was!

That's a sweet 9500 Mike. Plus your dad makes it look so easy to do. Reminded me of my dad. Good times. I enjoyed your video.
Thanks Greg. I'm glad you enjoyed the video
OMG. Amazing combine 9500 👍
Thank you Carlos

The 9500 is a nice and clean looking machine. Another good video. I really appreciate them.
Thanks Keith. I'm glad you enjoy them
The combine does a fantastic job. Love seeing you spend time with your kids. Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks Pete. It's always nice to take a few minutes and take them for a ride
@@mikep7810 a ride they won’t ever forget I might add!
Combine was a great addition. Your opening scene was meant for snowmobiling.
Thanks Anthony. I need to pick up a snowmobile to drive around

Love the combine it’s nice
Thank you. It sure is a great machine
Ya we got a John Deere on the farm and runs really good
Thats a realy Nice upgrade for sure, any big plans for this year Mike? Hope all is well and greetings from a Dutch dairyfarmer
Thanks Menno. We are doing repairs on things but 2020 was a rough year so I don't expect too many big plans this year

Oats did pretty good this year. We come back through with the discbine and mow everything then bale it
G'day Mate
G'day Murphy
Need a bigger bean head for that combine and a bin extension for the combine.
Maybe down the road
Do you ever lease your oat fields after harvest for do9ve hunting. Its a great way to get extra money for the farm.
Great video thanks for sharing.
Thanks Gary. We've never done that before. I haven't heard of it. I'll have to check it out

I’ve never run a combine just wondering what determines how long you leave the corn stubble. Nice machine
As long as you are getting the ear of corn and not running the corn head in the ground. I dont think there is a specific length for the stubble
👍👏👏👏
Thanks Ozz!
Do you guys bale any cornstalks for bedding.
Not the corn stalks but we do bale up the oat straw for bedding
What year is the 9500 it's a nice machine
It sure is a nice machine. It's an early 90s
So how did u like that corn head u bought in pa
Loved it. It was a great pick up. I would definitely go there again to buy another head
What do oats usually average per acre? You might have said and I missed it. Th
They are a smaller grain like soybeans. This field ran around 50-55
