In Poland our WHOLE cities have 40km/h limit. There are some faster roads but they are usually away from houses. Police usually won't give you a ticket if you drive to 50km/h though.
The reason it says you don't have enough people for the jobs is more down to their education level, offices want highly educated and forest want uneducated and you have educated the majority of your population. I usually create a section for uneducated/lower class citizens near to the uneducated requirements...
THE INDUSTRIAL DEMAND IS SO HIGH BECAUSE YOU BANNED HEAVY TRAFFIC IN THE COMMERCIAL ZONES WHICH MAKES PEOPLE WANT MORE INDUSTRIAL BECAUSE THEY'RE NOT GETTING ENOUGH PRODUCTS!!! Ps. Love this new series :)
What I learned from this episode: I should make roads with the intention of them being a beautiful drive. Going for a drive on the Fjord Road was just lovely.
The reason the cars were using the over pass is because the 2 lane road is slower than the 1 lane so you need to change the speed limit and it will work but you solved it anyway so yeah
You could make an "old city centre" using the dirt roads and allowing the buildings to only by 1x1 tile big. Residential and commercial European high density 1x1 buildings look like they are from the renaissance era, it could make your city very authentic looking!
James, your time was much more wisely spent with your planning this episode. Good planning, and still very entertaining as usual! Sidenote: the intersection that you spent the last 10 mins of the episode on could be simplified. The main problem is that you have 1 intersection merging the off/on ramps from the highway, then 5 feet down the road you have another intersection with a perpendicular road. The space between intersections is too small.
I really like the gravel road. It makes the street look so much more European! In Germany most "sideroads" (if that is a word) are 30km/h and the general speed limit for cities is 50km/h.
In Belgium we drive 50km/h around houses, 90km/h outside the village and less populated areas and our highways are 120km/h. Schoolzones and playstreets are 30km/h.
Here in Maine, USA the interstate is 75 mph or 120 km/h, roads in rural areas or between cities is 45 mph or 72 km/h and roads in town are about 30 mph or 48 km/h
In Amsterdam we (usually!!) have a 50 km/h limit on big roads (with traffic lights), 30 km/h in dense areas (usually without traffic lights) and our ring way, which is a highway is only 80 km/h, I'd guess mainly to minimize sound pollution..
Normally, here in Brazil, main Avenues have 50km/h - 60km/h limit. Highways have 110km/h limit for cars and 80km/h limit for trucks and buses. In neighborhood roads the limit is 30km/h and in simple way highways the limit is usually 80km/h. For me it's normal.
Yea, kinda the same in Sweden, almost all city roads here are 40 and maybe the main roads in cities are 50 if youre lucky... And 100-120 on the highways
Mostly 70-90 in country roads, I wish they changed highway to 140 though, on the E4 you can easily go 140, I had cruise control on 190 on it once, with very little traffic tough
***** Yup, don't live there any more though. In Norway there are almost no places with a speed limit above 90 km/h, but that doesn't mean that people don't driver faster
I guess you dont live in Østfold, Oslo or Akerhus then? Most of the highways have a 110km/h speed limit, some still have the 100km/h limit but with the new goverment more and more are getting the new limit.
Hey im sure someone asked this before but i couldn't find it, how can the buildings be european style? Is it a mod or an update or what? Looks amazing!
flabaliki, the speed limit on the highways may vary, maybe where you live it is 110. But in other countrie like the US, UK, Philippines, Thailand are 100. You have ountries like UAE, speed limit 130 and countries like Japan with speeds of only 80.
Just wondering would it ease traffic more if you set single lane roads with higher speeds for just the garbage trucks back to the incinerators/dumps or ....? Loving this city and your "custom road design" :-)
i dont understand; i got a notification that part 4 of your series was released (i even saw the picture with the cargo train station) and when i wanted to watch it, it was gone!?! James, what happened????? i looked everywhere even your website!
I think whats going on with the speed limits, is they're just normal mph, and instead of actually converting the speeds they just added a 'K' in front of it.
TREES, AND OFFICES DONT CREATE POLLUTION AND THEY DO THE SAME THING AS INDUSTRIAL AND FULFILL THE PEOPLES INDUSTRIAL NEEDS. I DONT KNOW WHY I AM DOING THIS IN ALL CAPS BUT I AM, SO SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!
I hope you already found your answer, but just in case: The pollution will go away on it's own...eventually. To speed things up, clear the area and put down a lot of trees in the pollution zone, and that should get the area pretty much clear in I think 18 months. Still slow, but trees make the process much faster. If only it was so easy in real life.
"Highways should be 110km/h." That's ok! I don't blame, but atleast in Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark highways are 120km/h in summer. I just had to get stuck on that :P (and 100km/h in winter, because snow, obviously...)
Jóa Jackson Don't know about Finland, Sweden and Denmark but Norway has a top speed limit of 110km/h at any time of the year. Most highways here are 100km/h, or well at least the few highways we have :P. The 110km/h speed limit was very recently set on a couple of roads mostly in Østfold.
Can anyone pls guide how to increase brush size when planting trees? Im playing this in 2023 and even tried + & - but the brush option disappears whenever I select trees!
I don't know why you hate roundabouts? Mine work REALLY well - just as long as lane discipline is good. Give drivers LOADS of options rather than none - so that interchange should just be a 4-way and then put the roundabout back in you took out... - also 3-lane roundabouts are the dogs bollocks!
I like how in the beggining of the video James says "Hello (...) I made some changes as you might have already noticed" Its like he expects us to know what the changes were before we actually start watching xD >>#hd_thumbnail
Can I make a request that this city doesn't get named *Something* City. It just feels cheap and somewhat unrealistic. Possibly something to do with the Fjord, like Fjordenheim?
+jfx230 No, he should definitely build Fluxtrance's city. It has a hotel in the middle of a lake, an embassy, a country club, amusement park, and a full-scale university.
I burst out laughing when James realises that the road he built is ridiculous xD not the first time, James... not the first
26:34 the subway tunnel goes under a cemetery. Which means whilst digging the tunnel, somebody could have found their dead grandma.
In Poland our WHOLE cities have 40km/h limit. There are some faster roads but they are usually away from houses. Police usually won't give you a ticket if you drive to 50km/h though.
Wow that's slow!
Cielęcina Last I checked, we have 50km/hour limit.
What police? (Get it? Cause you almost NEVER see a cop in the cities. At least here in Rzeszów...)
Limit in UK is 70kph but you can go 80kph
Theo Price you mean mph.
Check the imports-export information window, it will tell you the type of industrial you need or have abundance of.
James, 80 km/h is REALLY fast for just a ring road. Geezus haha.
What is that 40mph in the us?right?
40 mp/h is about 60 km/h. That's pretty fast for a city road. 50 mp/h is about 80 km/h.
Ties Leijssenaar yeah 50 is 80 because 5m = 8km
+JamoWaffleSponge It's not meters, it's miles
+RaninArts well they didnt mean meters bc 5 meters doesnt equal 8kms does it? :3
Here in Holland main roads in a city are 50. Neighbourhoods are 30, city rings are 70, state roads are 80 or 100, highways are 120-130.
The reason it says you don't have enough people for the jobs is more down to their education level, offices want highly educated and forest want uneducated and you have educated the majority of your population. "hopefully when we can dump in poo lake over there" 😂😂😂 A+ lake naming
you should rebuild one of the houses from Cities: Skylines in Sims 4 :)
No
Evoli12 Yes :)
That would be nice
Yah! :D
What I learned from this episode: I should make roads with the intention of them being a beautiful drive. Going for a drive on the Fjord Road was just lovely.
why don't you add bus routes on every metro station going around the industrial zone, high density areas and also in the small town
You Dont say agreed
most cities in the netherlands have 30km/h and 50km/h limits within the suburbs. main roads have 50-80 km/u ;)
I live in Switzerland and it's pretty much the same. 30kmh to 50kmh for inner roads. 60kmh to 70kmh for main roads and 100kmh to 120kmh for highways.
Nil Aksoy sounds like EU standards almost :) same in Sweden :)
The reason the cars were using the over pass is because the 2 lane road is slower than the 1 lane so you need to change the speed limit and it will work but you solved it anyway so yeah

18:20 did you just say I guess I could OF? And I respected you.
Lindsey Snyder XD I'm joking
"Lets go for subway----Eat Fresh." xD I was dieing
.... that industry circle is so beautiful xD So perfectly sculpted.
Hi james could you upload the map every 10 episodes on the Steam Workshop? would be very cool:)
Agreed
I love the way this game works because looking at the day pass it takes like five days to drive down a road its great 11/10
I really like the gravel road. It makes the street look so much more European!
In Germany most "sideroads" (if that is a word) are 30km/h and the general speed limit for cities is 50km/h.
I'm in the UK, and all of those default road speeds sound about ok to me
I love that Gravel road i think it makes the city look older and cooler
Crazy
James, you can just tunnel the train tracks so that you don't have to lower the land and edit the interchanges
In Belgium we drive 50km/h around houses, 90km/h outside the village and less populated areas and our highways are 120km/h. Schoolzones and playstreets are 30km/h.

The through traffic mod would totally makes sense, in my city they have that law in some residential areas.
PLEASE MORE. I LOVE THESE VIDEOS
Do what you said about before, force people to commute on the metro and it will help drop the traffic problems.
You can use a train tunnel between the small town and the highway to avoid the interchanges.
In Norway, 30 km/h is normal for school roads and neighbourhoods, so 40 km/h is not that low really

Northern Norway doesn't even have highways and the roads are horrible and full of turns, so nope, not a lot of places with speeds over 90
Welcome to canada flabs
You explaned our roads so well. Teach me drivers ed xD
Yesssss thank you for the series 😊
Almost 100 k subs!
+Vincent Öhlander Rice everyone who has seen this comment has seen the sub count.
I do believe highways are 100 at default... it's the ramps that are 80 km/h.
I freaking love when you say fjo00o0ooOOooooOOord
Some school areas here in America are as low as 5 mph (8 km/h) I would say most are a bit slower than 40 km/h here in California at least
Make a train go from the main city to the logging district. That might allow more people to go to work there and it will solve the worker problem.
The commercial/industrial area which you made at the start looked like a warped Pepsi/yin yang symbol
Crematorium next to the school. How morbid.
but convenient
my school is quite close to a crematorium as well, but not next to it
Could you share a list of all the mods you are using please? And keep it updated like through Google docs or something?
He posts a link in the description of all his videos to mods he uses
Hey im sure someone asked this before but i couldn't find it, how can the buildings be european style? Is it a mod or an update or what? Looks amazing!
caglacaglacagla you need build city in map that support europian style buildings and it is new update 1.1.0b
***** thank you!
***** So, which maps support Euro buildings then?
Timothy Capuano it is in the description of a map if the theme is ''european'' then you have this fun buildings. :)
flabaliki, the speed limit on the highways may vary, maybe where you live it is 110. But in other countrie like the US, UK, Philippines, Thailand are 100. You have ountries like UAE, speed limit 130 and countries like Japan with speeds of only 80.
I like your style man :)
I liked that fjord ride.
Awesome series, James. Do I need to book for the meeting in London at the beginning of August, or can I just turn up (wherever you'll be)?
Just wondering would it ease traffic more if you set single lane roads with higher speeds for just the garbage trucks back to the incinerators/dumps or ....? Loving this city and your "custom road design" :-)
40 km/h is too slow? A lot of the streets in my neighbourhood have speed limits of 30.
Man, Flabs, you're building my daamn city : Leuven, Belgium. please look it up
THE HIGH WAYS ARE 100 KILOMETERS by default. The on and off ramps are 80 kilometers default.
Enjoyed the vid... very cool...
YAY!! Keep the gravel road
ohh james don't give up!
Please list your mods! I want to know which mod you use to set the lanes and stuff! Please do it
He has a link to a page with all his mods in the description of every single video he puts out. Hope that helps :)
Really? Thanks!
And you passed 17000 population my citys👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I'm incredibly jealous on how good the game runs on your pc o-o
get a better PC then dungus
Of course, i'll just rob a bank to get the money
+Iemand Or get a decent paying job?
i dont understand; i got a notification that part 4 of your series was released (i even saw the picture with the cargo train station) and when i wanted to watch it, it was gone!?! James, what happened????? i looked everywhere even your website!
in england a 40 speed limit on roads in a town is normal although that is mph
Speed limit in Finland in cities is 40km/h, and this game is made in Finland.
I think whats going on with the speed limits, is they're just normal mph, and instead of actually converting the speeds they just added a 'K' in front of it.
Is the balckwidow chroma keyboard good?
Guess I'm in the 5-10%. Besides, who cares if others like it. It's your game/Lets play. Do what you like.
when do u do your live streems and how do u find them
You set the heavy traffic for city
You should call an episode "a dump in poo lake" :D
The side road I live on.. And I live in the country is 60km/h and every other road is around 80 (Canada)
26:30 I had just said out loud Eat Fresh at the same time he did.... I'm scared now.
Is there any way to clean up the pollution that industrial creates?
TREES, AND OFFICES DONT CREATE POLLUTION AND THEY DO THE SAME THING AS INDUSTRIAL AND FULFILL THE PEOPLES INDUSTRIAL NEEDS. I DONT KNOW WHY I AM DOING THIS IN ALL CAPS BUT I AM, SO SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!

If only it was so easy in real life.
Yay, GRAVEL ROAD! GRAVEL ROAD!
Yo flabs do a huge solar farm!
The highway intersection looks like a kazoo with balls
Where I live you can only drive 30 km/h and 50 km/h out of the main city. Highway 120 km/h
In England/UK we only really have one ring road- and that's London.
+Noah G and the M60 around Manchester
Those sound like the speed limits for roads in the U.S.
"Highways should be 110km/h."
That's ok! I don't blame, but atleast in Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark highways are 120km/h in summer. I just had to get stuck on that :P
(and 100km/h in winter, because snow, obviously...)
100 in the winters. 5 km/h on the summers due to roadwork :)
Pinking Gaming I bet you mean 105km/h.
And also you must be from
middle Europe. :D
Jóa Jackson no, i mean 5 Km/h, cause that is how slow everyone fucking drives over here as soon as there is abit of construction on the road
Im playing this in 2023 and even tried + & - but the brush option disappears whenever I select trees!
im pretty sure this game defaults to miles per hour, in which case 40 mph would be a normal speed for a road
Highways in thw netherland s are from 90 km to 130 km mainroads 50km schoolways 30km house area 30km roads trhu midle of nowhere 60 to 80 km
When you get the lake for sewage call the lake Shiitake
Why is the next part currently private? x
In Hungary, the tax is 21%, and, when you buy something, the tax is 27%, which is kinda very high.
That is high in America the taxes for taxed items are around 7%
ho need roller coaster tycon when you have roads in this game?
tycoon*
is there any way I can download this map?
I like how in the beggining of the video James says "Hello (...) I made some changes as you might have already noticed"
Its like he expects us to know what the changes were before we actually start watching xD >>#hd_thumbnail
He expects you have watched the other videos, why would you start on episode 3 anyway?
BCDJ Snipez I didn't, I started at episode 1 and watched the WHOLE series. I just didn't notice the changes at that current time :P
...where do i can purchase/buy the installer of this game?
+Elmar Canoy steam
smoke
I actually like the dirt road👍🏻
Can I make a request that this city doesn't get named *Something* City. It just feels cheap and somewhat unrealistic. Possibly something to do with the Fjord, like Fjordenheim?
No
Fjord City
MrBadeandenD
Is that a no to my request or no to Fjordenheim, and please explain your reasoning.
James McDonald you mean FjoOoOoOoOoOrdenheim?
Angelica Labermo Yes. Of course I did. How could I have meant anything else?
Hey James, are you still enjoying this series?
pjr10th - My Channel True, but he also did season 1 which had about 60 episodes
what if some rich dude who realy liked this series decided to build a town kinda like this.
+jfx230 No, he should definitely build Fluxtrance's city. It has a hotel in the middle of a lake, an embassy, a country club, amusement park, and a full-scale university.
Do more roller coaster tycoon 3 sandbox mode
That turd is getting out of hand
I buy today this game but I don't have traffic manager but i don't know why (I know my English isn't good but I come from the Netherlands) 😬
You fixed the city from the last episode. ( I will write this in caps so you see this) BUT YOU HAVE NO DISTRICTS
You shouldn't have to apologise for something you like
Pity the fool(s) :P
Im italy speed limits for highways are 130 km/h , small roads around 60 km/h but here no one gives a fuck so we go at whatever speed we like:P
where are ur tunnels??
