I like the style and material of this channel, it is easy to talk about the latest products, as everyone does, but there are cameras from more than 10 years ago that are excellent…

This camera re-introduced me to Nikon after 8 years with Sony.
The old film camera package drew me to it, but the incredible autofocus and colors kept me there and I’m a Nikon fanboy again. (Since added the Zf to the bag)
Nikon really stepped up their game when they finally jumped into the mirrorless world.
I was a decade long Nikon guy and made the mistake of jumping to Sony. After seeing what Nikon are doing with cameras like the Zf and the z6iii it’s easy to want to jump back in🖖

If I may digress a tad, *love* that low E in the baseline of that first music bed 👌
I got a great deal on a super slow shutter (less than 500) example and loving shooting on it :)
Great video as always. Sometimes I'm tired of people talking about the latest gear, when usually we (at least I) don't change it frequently, even with second-hand market I can't spend much money on it. I really like the look of this Nikon (reminds me to the old-film-times cameras that I used), sadly it doesn't have ibis and that is a must for me.
Yeah just a few additions to the zfc would make it an amazing apsc option. I still prefer my Olympus and Lumix cameras though, the ibis in those things is simply amazing. Thanks for watching 🖖
In one of the comments you mentioned you love your Olympus camera for the IBIS. Which model do you use?
The Em1 mark ii and Em10 mk ii are my goto Olympus bodies and I use the lumix GH5 for video 🖖
@@DavidFlowerOfficial nice I’ve looked at those as well. I really dig how some of these brands are doing the retro look. In your opinion for wildlife photography, birding photography within a $2000 budget. Do you have a recommendation for me if I wanted to do the retro style camera?
Personally I like the styling of the Olympus Em10 and Em5 line of cameras and the newer Om5. For wildlife you’ll want speed, good af tracking, decent iso performance, ibis and of course a good selection of glass and I expect Olympus/Omsystem have you covered there.
The only other retro looking cameras I can think of are the Nikon Zfc and then Fujifilm which I don’t have a lot of experience with beyond some street shooting with the x100v which is definitely not a wildlife camera😂

I heard you mentioned the Em1 mk ii, how do you like the Nikon zfc vs the Olympus? Image quality wise, which do you prefer? I'm asking because I own a Em1 mk III and I like the image quality of m43, but I've always wondered how Nikon apsc would be. I truly love your feedback!
I prefer the look of the Olympus files. Both are great, but there’s something about the way the Olympus handles the colours that I prefer. From a functionality point of view, the Olympus wins hands down. It’s faster, has arguably the best ibis that exists (zfc isn’t stabilised at all) has significantly better battery life and way better ergonomics. In terms of iso performance, despite the sensor size difference, there’s nothing between them really🖖
Digicam Dave we need more digicams 😅 just kidding Nikon been going down this route I really like this especially the dials and design...it's a sleek beast
I actually have one in the works, but I also have a few other cameras that I’ve recently picked up🖖😁
sure if you can make videos and ur thoughts about olympus pen cameras
The only Pen camera I have at the moment is the pen mini and I’m already working on a video for that one🖖

Yeah the same or very similar sensors are used in lots of different cameras. I mentioned it in a recent video.
Yeah the 40-150 is great. I’m definitely gonna be using it more in the future 🖖
You might consider vivid on Nikon. I think Nikon vivid color may be the best profile on any camera. Right up there with Panasonic but better.
Yeah I think the neutral profile was quite flat. Of course it doesn’t matter for the raw photos, but the video and JPEGs were quite dull.

Whats the af for street David, any good for moving subjects.
I didn’t have any issues with it, but I didn’t try it on anything moving quicker than walking speed. I tend to use af-s with either single point or zone focusing so I’m probably not the best person to ask.
I'm so out of touch with current cameras I hadn't seen any of the Nikon Z's - that thing is as cute as a cute thing that had just been to the salon. I kind of want one, but I don't want to go down the rabbit hole of yet another lens mount. It definitely looks like the droolworthy Nikons of old, and it almost seems wrong to see a big screen on the back.
Yeah it’s a nice bit of kit and flipping the screen around almost makes it believable. I’m currently using 4 different systems so I definitely don’t need another 😂

I was a little disappointed with the feel of the zfc looks lovely but feels cheap in the hand
Yeah it’s not my favourite in that regard. Like I said, I prefer something with a grip. I think the z50 would be more my idea of fun if it didn’t have the silly drop down screen 😂

@@kcphotogeek6207I don’t mind the screen on the E-PL8. You can still flip it out normally and fold it down if you really want to. One of my favourite little cameras that I hang on to to keep in the micro 4/3 system
If by cheap you mean solid and light, I agree. People are used to heavy bulky cameras these days.
Having the option to choose the style and feel of your grip is something cameras usually miss out on.
