8:28 Nikkor 24-120/4 Z and 40/2 SE Z lenses don’t have IS/VR, so Z f is using body 5-axis stabilisation only. if you also want lens stabilisation, get the 24-200 VR Z or 28-400 VR Z lenses
Well that goes to show how good the internal sensor stabilization is! Thx for correcting me. I thought the 24-120 had VR 😂

Great video about the Zf and amazing shots! I have mine since launch and love it with the 40mm and 28 SE lenses for the retro design. For me personally it is a bit too bulky and heavy for my EDC, that's where the X100VI comes in for me.
But I love the Zf, specially the b/w switch and use it also as my main cam to film my own YT video with it.
The x100vi looks awesome! The size of the Zf for everyday doesn’t bother me though. Thanks for watching!
I like that you made this video. I've wanted to get the ZF as a hybrid travel/edc camera, but couldn't commit because Nikon doesn't do dual-slot video recording yet. Hopefully in the future.
The Zf is awesome. I see it as a photo only camera for my workflow, so the dual recording for video isn’t a dealbreaker for me.
After hearing Brandon talk about being able to adapt sony E lenses to nikon, I've had my eye on some nikon cameras like this as a fun little run around!

The only other consideration for me is a Leica Q3 but $$$ haha.
Great video, I’ve had my Zf for a while now and have been onto Nikon, Apple and Photomator (editing software) about raw support for it, I had the Zfc before this and that now has support, Apple does say they are on it, but doesnlook like it is high on their list. You can convert them with a DNG converter but like you said, it’s an extra step that shouldn’t be needed.

What’s the status of internal LUT for video? Can that be done ? If so this may be my hybrid camera! I shoot jpg and internal LUT only. Would love to shoot all my video and photo on one body.
I’m not sure if user LUTs can be loaded on this camera.
I absolutely get what you explain at the beginning of the video about mentally switching to work mode when you grab your R5, Tyler; I’m a software engineer and the exact same thing happened to me (when I was still working) with the battle station I used for work in my home office, and my laptop, that I use for… hacking FOSS 🤦♂️😂 I was thinking about getting the Zf, but ultimately I decided to go with the Z6mk3 😊

The only downside of this camera is the lens options. Most of Nikons lenses are long a huge. I bought a megadap adapter just so I can adapt Sony lenses
Thanks for your video, nice photos! The Nikon Zf is not only an incredibly stylish camera, it is powerful and state-of-the-art. The user concept is a declaration of love from Nikan to its retro fans. Personally, I've always found myself wanting to avoid it because I'm too used to the mature ergonomics of modern DSLMs, but... great camera! Best regards SLEH

This looks like a good camera for travel, stills only. I own the Z9 and Z8, but I like to old fashioned dials for hobby use.
This is the camera for you then! Zf would be perfect for travel.

I think on the nikon zf if you have raw recording as lossless compression, you should be able to get the same preview as normal. At least that is the way it works on my pc. Before I did that, it was acting nuts and wouldn't show up.
I tried changing to a different compression and it didn’t work but I’m sure I just didn’t do the right thing 😂

I have always felt Nikon images has more life than Sony. Somehow I like the color from Nikon images more.

If this had the XT-5 screen it would’ve been perfect

I like that the Nikon Zf is not too small. I find the smaller cameras a bit too "fiddly," especially for button presses and so on.
To me the Nikon Zf, is the perfect size.
I have mine coupled with the FTZ adapter, and a Classic Zeiss Planar T* f1.4 /50mm (in F-mount). And as you can imagine it looks beautiful (blue Zf), but does add to the weight. Nonetheless, I take my Zf with me everywhere.
The key question is; having tried it, are you buying one?
Yes, my plan is to eventually buy one, but I am building out a NAS currently which has taken priority haha.

So not pro. So in my opinion it’s a great video camera. Not a great photo camera. So it’s a perfect hybrid. Like the Sony 74
I was more impressed with the photo than video. Definitely a hybrid camera but far from perfect.
