Hi David. Zephania 3:9 states that God will restore pure speech, that speech is Hebrew. How do we know that it is Hebrew?.. In Zephania 3:8(the verse proceeding) contains all of the Hebrew Aleph bet and all Sofit forms of the letters.💙🐑
Hebrew is a mix of languages much like English. Hebrew stems from akkadian and sumerian as well as some other cannanite languages. It is NOT the first language spoken it is simply the language that developed into the language of Abraham's descendants.

Good Shabbos. Something interesting came to mind while I was listening. God declares that he is going to "sweep away man and beast. The birds of the air, and the fish of the sea... I will cut off mankind from the face of the earth". Where have we heard that before ? Oh, that's right his threat against mankind in the days of Noah. And why is he declaring this ? Well, because the inhabitants of one city on the entire planet are being disobedient. What of the cities of what is now known as Europe ? Were they under this judgement as well even though this declaration is clearly against the nations of Israel and Judah. To me this would be like the police in New York City arresting someone there for a crime some random person in Phoenix committed. And this is where many find fault with the Bible, and God. He is very content with punishing innocent people right along with the guilty. How can a God that is supposed to be all loving willingly and knowingly punish innocent people for things that they have not done ? That would be like me punishing my eldest son for something his young brother did. My eldest son would grow to resent me for this. For the record I do not believe that this is what God is doing, but you can easily see how someone that is not familiar with scripture could take this. Was God actually saying that he is going to punish every man, woman, and child across the entire planet ? By 612BC there were people living in what is now called North and South America, Asia, and most of Europe. So, are we to believe that God would destroy all of the people in those places as well. Or, was it just the nations of Israel and Judah ? Everything regarding scripture has an extremely precise geographical area which has been the target of God's wrath. As I suspect it was also in the days of Noah. There is no evidence in North America, South America, Asia, Europe, or even Africa of a flood depicted in the Genesis account. Again, I think that like this prophecy of Zephaniah the flood was localized as well.

The whole Earth is not an accurate translation of Verse being cited in Zephaniah the Hebrew word is 127 [e] hā·’ă·ḏā·māh. הָאֲדָמָ֖ה Which meansThe ground or the dust...when we translerated this as earth, in the West are incorrectly thinking Planet rather than thinking The Land as in. Land of Israel 😊.
