    This is such a freakin gamechanger. The way I climb with far out limb walking I like to have a 20ft lanyard or so, but it's been killing me stepping on it, etc. I've been wieghing the benefit/challenge ratio and this totally solves it. Actually probably the biggest time/hassle saver I've seen from you yet - surprised I haven't come across this video before!

    Thanks. I too was using the daisy chain but the end was just hanging there. I'm loving your tie off method and will be doing it that way from now on! Really slick!

    Awesome tip for lanyard management, thank you!! You could also take a single action carabiner and clip it at the last daisy chain and onto the slack just after the zilion or whatever you are using, if you would like to avoid having a bundle of rope on your side.

      I do something similar. I almost always use my lower D's... My lanyard has a splice at both ends so I pass the slack through the upper d ring, clip the splice to a tool clip, daisy chain up some slack and clip it to a second clip. Super neat and can still use the upper D if I want without having to take it all out

    Always have mine dangling loose have found it hangs up in branches more when it's made into a loop .if it has loose ends they pull through easy .depends on type of tree also I find.i have my 5m lanyard daisy chained when ascending at first .Just personal preference.great clear videos thanks for posting.

    I've seen, in place of this, the occasional roll-like coil of the excess lanyard tail packed very compactly, still looking for the name it goes by.

  • @rhysbroome-owen5152

    Nice one, i have a 5M lanyard and i just double up the excess that i dont need and daisy chain that to my carry tool but i sill always find a way to have it too lose and step thew it.
    I will
    Definitely give this a go!

    Definitely a great idea I wish I had known that before I bought the neat freak or I think now it's called the k1 keeper it's amazing I love it it keeps my lanyard perfect and all I do is pull up on it to tend the slack and it stays right there every time

    • @zebcokid2097
      @zebcokid2097 2 роки тому

      Hello. I think you’re alright. I have a K1 for the frequently used lanyard 6-8 feet. The K1 gets it up and out of the way nicely. However, my lanyard is 20, so the rest gets daisy chained. Currently it’s just chained and clipped. Im super excited to try this technique. I inspired by the fluidity of the technique. I’m hoping that i can figure a method that will allow clipping to the lower d, then pushing the extra lanyard through the upper d for the chain as was shown. This will allow me to be consistent with my d connection without having to reattach, yet all for a swift and fluid release of the entire lanyard. Boy, I hope that made sense.

    Great idea, I will try this out. I have a 2 in one and I have been using it for some time to advance throughout the canopy. The problem is that it’s 30’…seems way too long and no easy way to keep it organized..:/
