Lyrics
“Beautiful
Lately, I've been hard to reach
I've been too long on my own
Everybody has a private world
Where they can be alone
Are you calling me?
Are you trying to get through?
Are you reaching out for me?
Then I'm reaching out for you
I'm just so fuckin' depressed
I just can't seem to get out this slump
If I could just get over this hump
But I need something to pull me out this dump
I took my bruises, took my lumps
Fell down and I got right back up
But I need that spark to get psyched back up
In order for me to pick the mic back up
I don't know how or why or when
And I ended up in this position I'm in
I'm starting to feel distant again
So I decided just to pick this pen
Up and tried to make an attempt to vent
But I just can't admit
Or come to grips with the fact that I may be done with rap
I need a new outlet
And I know some shit's so hard to swallow
But I just can't sit back and wallow
In my own sorrow, but I know one fact
I'll be one tough act to follow
One tough act to follow
I'll be one tough act to follow
Here today, gone tomorrow
But you'd have to walk a thousand miles
In my shoes, just to see
What it's like to be me
I'll be you, let's trade shoes
Just to see what I'd be like to
Feel your pain, you feel mine
Go inside each other's minds
Just to see what we find
Look at shit through each other's eyes
But don't let 'em say you ain't beautiful (oh)
They can all get fucked, just stay true to you (so)
Don't let 'em say you ain't beautiful (oh)
They can all get fucked, just stay true to you (yeah, so)

I’m so glad you where brought up in a stable family that made you into the empathetic, compassionate and understanding man you are! Your generation needs more people like you ❤️
Facts
His parents must be very proud
His parents should be so proud. They did a great job raising upstanding children
I was just thinking his ability to reflect and find so much empathy at this young age is glorious. Don't ever change jojo, don't let the world change a thing about you.
True story. Amen. Pray for our youth.
Jo jo, this song is one of those that will never get old no matter how many times you get to listen to it- once you do you will reflect on everything that has gone on not only for you and your struggle but also Eminem’s
but shady does
@@Fee.1 why you here bro?
Strongly agree dwag
I respect Eminem's honest heartfelt songs like this one so much. Some of the greatest artists of all time use their art as a cathartic outlet to express their emotional struggles.
His style of rap should be what every rap artist tries to accomplish, not that mumble rap mumbo jumbo
He overdosed and almost died, like he said he was 2 hours away from death. Then he went to rehab and got sober. He's being sober since 2008
He was in Rehab when he wrote this song. Yes, He nearly died. He started spiraling down in 06 when Proof was killed.
Em had a real drug problem, mainly with sleep drugs and pain killers. He almost died in 07 I think. Pretty sure he’s been sober ever since
He overdosed in 07. He started using again. He went to rehab and got clean. He relapsed. He went back to rehab and he's been clean ever since then.
@@rondutertre3367 he stopped drugs right after encore
@@mynameisme6975 he's stronger than me. I drink do battle my depression, I drink NyQuil to fall asleep and I take valium to help with my anxiety. It's my going on ever since my wife of 8 years cheated on me and threw me out to be with him, a year ago.
@@rondutertre3367 You can make it out too. Just a few minutes at a time. You are important and we need you in this world. Sending love and strength.
@@suzonlommel3737 I can't make it out, because I don't want out. I know my alcohol problems are eventually going to kill me, and I honestly don't care.
Young man, Em is sober now and yes he went through more than you can imagine. I actually got sober myself and I've been a fan of his since the beginning. 💜
I am a senior citizen, just a few years older than Em so I’ve watched his life and career from almost the beginning. I love that you have a much insight and compassion. You made me relive this song like the first time I heard it.
Jojo, This man has gotten me through so many hard times in my life. He has so many songs anyone can relate to whether it be a struggle or to get you pumped to get out of your situation.
Not Afraid and No Love are the most motivating. But the hardest hitting for me are Haillies song and the hook of Love You More
He wrote the first two verses while in rehab... came out and finished the song/3rd verse. Em was addicted to pain killers and other various pills for most of his career up until he overdosed after his 5th album or so. You should look into his biography... the man been through alot
His life has definitely been hard af. 😪 First growing up in an abusive home, being bullied and beaten up at school, being so poor he didn't have food. Then, once blowing up, that brings on a huge new world of problems. The only people who knows what it would be like are artists who reached a pinnacle he has (very few). Oh, and he lost Proof, drug addiction that almost killed him too. Thank God he has Paul and I hope he can find some peace as he gets older. I wish rappers would leave him alone, he's earned that respect 10 fold.
Detroiter here. His official music video for this song is an ode to Detroit. Puts a lump in my throat every time I see it.
Em was terribly addicted to seroquel, got clean, then relapsed and gave us one of the best hip-hop albums ever written. He's one of the most talented lyricists to ever touch rap music. His past is soul-crushingly sad. A father that abandoned him, a mother that never wanted him, a daughter he was scarcely around to see grow-up because of his fame. We could all learn from his life and experience.
No cap I been jamming to this song all day. Going through some personal shit, this song has helped me make tough decisions.
Beautiful pain is a good jam also.
Good to know, hope you`re doing good now :)
Beautiful Pain is amazing too
12:04 it’s okay that’s just my luck, i was literally here only for that part.
My favorite thing about you and why I followed is because even if you’ve never heard a song or artist, maybe it’s not even your kind of music…you listen to the words, feel the beat and music. You appreciate it for what it is. And if you don’t like it, you just say it. More people should be as open to new ideas as you are. Keep it up, bro ✌️
This song was Em letting people know what he was going through, mental and emotional demons, growing up.
At one point his depression was so bad he almost dropped out of the rap community, and possibly something even darker.
As a guy who was around from the beginning of Slim Shady/B Rabbit/Eminem/Marshal, he’s gone through hell to get to the top.
If you wanna know how bad his drug addiction got you need to listen to castle and then arose it's a 2 part story explained throughout both tracks from his revival album. Would be 2 great follow up tracks from thus one💯
I love those songs! It gets me very time!!
If you look at his uploads he had listened to those two a month prior to this...not sure how he wasn't aware of the drug use
I think one of the biggest takeaways is that depression doesn’t discriminate. We all have the propensity to feel like shit. We can all make mistakes. But nobody in the world gets to tell you whether or not you’re human for the things you feel.
Great reaction. Tough message.
I like how you feel the song in the second part of it. it's a super powerful song that can get you out of the heaviest thoughts. Respect eminem, you are a pure soul and I respect you for who u are in the first place, a man.
One of the many reasons I love Eminem . He really make you feel like you’re not in it alone and just in general his music is real and makes you feel something … that is powerful In lyricism
Eminem is untouchable - he's not just top of the rap game but he's also one of the top ARTISTS across all genres - a true GOAT!🐐Please react to 'Spacebound', 'Sing for the Moment', 'I Need A Doctor'....too many amazing songs from Em to list! I'd also suggest a back to back reaction to '3AM' followed by 'Framed' - both the songs & videos are so well done, the lyrics are insane as well as the rhyming the schemes - GENIUS!
PS Em has been 13 years sober - he went through serious addiction issues especially after his best friend 'Proof' got shot. He's an inspiration and we're lucky to still have him with us💕
This is one of the most heartfelt songs. This song is no cadence no rappity rap. This is just pouring his soul. Your reaction was true.
This is one of ems more underrated songs and in my opinion it’s a phenomenal song about how no matter what you’re going through or haw bad life is at times the world we live in is and has beautiful moments
Releapse was first album to listen from Em when i was young. He is different, he can put his heart on a track.
Going through changes -Eminem is also another deep song
This was the realest reaction I've ever seen, congratulations bro. No matter what your opinion is for beeing honest I will always enjoy watching you.
What you felt in this video is how mill. of people Worldwide grew up! This shit supports you in your dsekest hours I dont even wanna think about the poss. that EM could stop one day :-*
Relapse is the present that keeps giving! You’re in for the wild ride of your life, so just go w/it and don’t try to make sense out of it. 🔥🔥🔥
This is drugs being flushed out of Em after he OD’d. He had to relearn how to do everything, including rapping.
Love that you heard the feeling in the words… it’s art when words invoke feeling
Space bound bruh. Watch the video. Em gets in your feelings.
Your appreciation for Eminem is so refreshing… love your reactions… keep it up 👍
JoJo, you just brought me to tears with this reaction. Your empathy is so beautiful. 🙏🏻❤
Your perspective on life is wise beyond your years. Keep doing you, Jojo. Respect.
he got pretty deep into drug addiction. he made this album after he almost died, and he explains all about it in the song 'deja vu"
He overdosed, then went to rehab and got sober. This was his first album after that. He said he basically had to learn how to write and rap again.
This song and not afraid, incredibly motivational
Amazing video bro, this song has helped me and millions others through a lot of hard times in life. Eminem is a GOAT for fighting through what many could not. Keep up the hard work bro.
This song is soooo underrated.
This song hits different when you were the outcast and see how far you can go even when everyone tells you cuz of where you came from will hold you back.
Dude you made my day homie you finally realize what this man has been through and what he is still going through everybody need to give him his flowers while we still have him a true lyrical genius Rap God goat on the highest level Marshall Mathers definitely needs to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame after all Marshall inducted Run DMC in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame we all need to induct him in there as well
React to Deja Vu please. You will understand his addiction better
This is facts, if your interested at more insight to his struggle with addiction. Most certainly jump on this one
Great Request
Glad you can experience this Song… on of my favorite songs. They don’t make music like this no mo 💔
After his best friend Proof died (06), he relapsed and almost died 07.
Rap isn‘t everything he ever wanted to do the thing the only thing what he ever wanted to to is make his daughter proud!
Was Eminem on drugs? Yes - listen to the song Deja Vu on this album - it is a very honest description of some of the stuff he went through
He wrote this part while in rehab & the rest later on. He doesn't like to hear it now...it reminds him of one of the lowest times in his life. Check out the uncut video ....you will like it! Will also get an idea of what part of the song is about.
I'm not an expert on Eminem, but he has struggled with drug addiction for a long time, and it's proven by some of his so y lyrics, not by what he said, but by the way he can often work the name of lesser known drugs and narcotics into his songs. As for his drug addiction, it got really bad when his best friend got killed a few years before this released. If memory serves, he was going through rehab when he wrote this album, or had just gone through it. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, as I said, I'm no expert, but this is what I remember of it, so I could be a little off.
Eminem was on drugs for the first two verses. He was sober for the last one
This is why the loss of Proof hit him so hard. Proof was the only one that had always been shoulder to shoulder with him had his back.
Thank you for reacting and love to see how you reacted, we all are human and not perfect
Amazing heart felt reaction. I loved this video. Keep on making this great content.
Fire reaction. 🔥
This right here is your best reaction yet, from the ones I’ve seen obvious. Great reaction. Keep it up bro
Great reaction to an awesome song!
❤️❤️❤️
Listen to 25 to life. It's incredible
Not Afraid next brotha
Jo jo, thank you
Another song i wanna see your reaction to is deja vu, its very deap and heavy on the backstory of his struggles during his time off rap and its got a sick beat. Ps like my first time ever commenting on a video
Terrific reaction JoJo
As he slowly changes his mind on UA-cam. Your not the only 1 and there has always been good reason for that GOAT status eminem has. I respect u for actually giving em a listen first.
Ugh the classics man, gotta love em
Made your soul cry. And that's ok. It's good for that soul. ❤️
This was my favorite Eminem song on middle school. Somehow it was randomly on my MP3 players and I’m so grateful
You're the first new person I've seen react to this song. This is his greatest, and his best song, so thank you for that
Em wrote this song in rehab he said. His daughter had found him OD’d in his bathtub and got clean after that
Greatness !!!! Song is one of my faves get ya in your feelings in a good way nostalgia timeless type shit!!
Man your reactions are really damn good, keep it up. Love the emathy u have.
Guts over fear by eminem, motivational song
I wish you could’ve done the video with its scenes from Detroit too, though I know reactions videos get taken down more easily. I’m a Michigander and have always absolutely loved my Detroit, even a few decades ago when it seems it was the butt of the American joke and everyone was afraid to go there. The first time I saw the video, with the old Tigers Stadium being torn down, I admit that I cried a little.
Jojo, I love your videos, but, you haven’t listened to the cranberries?! Zombie is their biggest hit, and has the coolest music video I’ve ever seen. (And yes, the video has more than a billion views.)
one of the best ones
If you ever want to see Eminem smile and laugh and have fun, watch some old videos of him and proof.
You should listen to: "Difficult" it's his tribute to his best friend was murdered....and that really is the point the drug addiction took over.
And Yellawolf's song "best friend" ft Em is all about proof.
Brother I am so proud of you and your father also ,he's taking a risk with the content he's doing now !!! Yall are doing awesome job ,especially you my guy, this being said I believe you will also do well raising your children if you decide to have kids !!!They will have a great father if you continue to have the humble and respectful heart you project in these reactions!!!!!I'm excited for you and pray you will be blessed in all you do .Biterphobia (?) is a great track as is infinite, one of his earliest ones showing his skill of being a ryme scheme king from the beginning!!! NO CAP LOL!!!
This reaction made me emotional fr
This is his BEST Song IMHO … so deep, has saved many a soul … just Beautiful… 🥰💜🔥😎
He wrote the first verse while in rehab and the last two when he got out.
i respect your understanding for his crafts. and i know what you mean by nothing to do with his music. i respect rap culture. your generation need more people like you. shout out from south east Asia. respect.
Thank you for helping me discover another side of Eminem.
This is the Eminem I grew up on, it's one of my all time favourites and an all time classic.
You're a good man my man. You're parents are proud. No doubt!
One of my favorite songs from him top 3!
You never listened too any songs on relapse at all? Oh man, your in for a ride homie, I suggest all of them tbh. That album is so underrated. Some suggestions to check out first in no particular order are : same song and dance, Deja vu, stay wide awake, medicine ball, my mom
Deja vu , castle and arose to more about his addiction n almost overdosing period
Respect!
Welp guess you're gonna have to visit castles and a rose....
Favorite Eminem song ❤
Eminem really has got something for everyone that's what makes him great.
Some people about to break when Starbucks gets their order wrong. Yeah, you get it. ❤
His Slim shady persona was born of drug use he was an addict before fame touched him, He was lucky to pull himself out of that once he got really big. That's how many artists die the fame the money and the pressure is a recipe for disaster
Coldplay - Higher Power (Official Video), Ink (Official Fans' Cut Video), Lovers In Japan (Official Video),
The Hardest Part (Official Video), Daddy (Official Video), Everglow (Alternate Music Video), Fix You (Official Video).
It's kinda funny watching this when I woke up with this song in my head
Em just in another level
He is coming up on 14 years sober.
he started the drug addiction because 2006 his childhood best friend proof was shot and in the year 2007 he almost died of an overdose and the Wrote the album relapse and there he talks about his drug addiction etc.
Fact this song so relatable to everyone who has or been through life like this and that why he has most strong fan base but yet there still who hated him as rapper that don't make sense at all 🤔
He had bad pill problem but has been clean 15 years
Em raised 2 kids that wasn't his and adopted them and he raised his daughter Haley and when he made it big he fought the courts to get his younger brother Nate out of foster care so Em raised 4 kids by himself Em is a good guy 🐐☘️
2:07 Good mention.-Ernie Moore Jr.
I always said if I could have a superpower, it would be to touch someone and be able to have them feel everything you do.
