Ah, yes. I have the same exact bike. Purchased new not even a month ago and I'm absolutely in love with this motorcycle. Previous bike was a Ducati Monster 696. Great review btw.
Thanks - learning these new graphics doubled the time it took to make the video lol but I've got it figured out now! Sound lovely doesn't it, if our S1000R wasn't such a screamer I'd consider doing the same to mine 😁
@@RikkyTang I think it was worth the extra effort. Thats why I've only changed the end can on mine, as all the ones I've heard with changed headers are just to loud, especially as round here they do echo around the valley some what. You'll have to let me know what you think if we get to meet up later in the new year, the way it's going it going to be march + before we get out properly. Have good new year.
@@try-that I'll keep throwing new stuff at these videos as I learn about the editing software and we'll see what sticks!! I keep flip-flopping on the end can - it's a lot of money and I keep finding other stuff to spend it on 🤣 I had hope to meet you this year but the old covid made a right mess of things... once the situation improves (and sadly I think it'll get worse before it gets better) we'll definitely get together. Thanks, and a Happy New Year to you and yours 👍
Completely different motorcycles. The kawasaki w800 is more of a japanese take on a triumph bonneville, this z900rs is harkening back to the Z1 4 cyclinder inline 4 days of the 1970's. Leagues apart in character
Thanks for all the great videos, great channel. I am looking to purchase the 900rs naked sometime this year when we can all ride safely again. Now that you have the BMW R1250R what makes the BMW better than a 900RS? I won't be able to afford a R1250R but hopefully will get my hands on a clean used 900RS.Just an out of interest question, as I know the categories are slightly different. Cheers
Thanks for your kind comments! The 900RS is a great bike and I could see myself owning one at some point... In terms of what makes the R1250R "better" well that is obviously a very subjective matter and what I see as an advantage might not even be on someone else's radar! But since you are asking me, it's grunt! I love lots of torque and the at the end of the day the BMW engine is over 300cc bigger and produces about 30 ftlbs more torque. The downside is that I have to put up with a much heavier bike, but it handles well for its size, has great safety and convenience features and is all round an awesome machine with a lot of character (in my humble opinion!) It's not cheap, but I got it with about a 12% discount off the list price which I think is a pretty good deal 😊
@@RikkyTang Good stuff, thanks for the reply and sharing those details. Looks like the 900RS will be a great fit for me then. Enjoy your new bike, my brother has the 1000SS but that bikes to small and mad for me!
This motorcycle needs absolutely no other muffler. This original sound is perfect for this motorcycle. I also have a Z900 RS Cafe :) which I have some movies on UA-cam, feel free to check them out :)
Hi Rikard, well I have to say everybody has their own opinion and the bike does sound fine standard, but I think the cat-delete downpipes improves the sound in just the right way 😁 I've looked a couple of your videos and I'm impressed with the image quality and titles, good work! 👍
First of all I have to say that I haven't ridden any W800 so please bear that in mind. If I could choose only one, I think it would be the Z900. However these two bikes have very different designs/philosophies and I could picture someone owning both bikes and use either one, depending on what type of riding they wanted to do. The z900 has over twice the horsepower but weighs less than the 800 Cafe! So it also depends on how fast you want to go 😊
I'm actual pissed that Kawasaki didn't make this bike with a liter 1,000cc motor like my 1970 KZ1000A had. They could of slapped at least a Z1000 motor on it in the cafe version. I own a 2005 Kawasaki ZRX1200R that I bought new from the dealership in 2005 and would never sell or trade it in for the 900cc version. I love the styling of the Z900 but the motor is just a disappointment to me.
Great review as always. The sound of a four cylinder bike on a nice pipe is a forgotten gem...maybe showing my age :-) A true thing of beauty!
Cheers Andrew! You're right things have changed a lot in the last 10-15 years or so! This sound takes me back to my old R1 days 😊

The 900 sounds like an ideal step-up bike from the Monster I hope you have a great time on it! Thank you 😊
New to the channel. Love how you set these up and have all the links to points of interest in the video. Great work mate!
Thanks for your comments! I'm glad you like the timestamps and I hope you continue to enjoy the videos 😊
Got the bike, have a full lextek exhaust system on it and my face constantly looks like this 😁
That must sound properly fit 😊
@@RikkyTang oh it sounds well
Nice they let you ride the Z9 cafe. 👍 sounds good
Yeah I hadn't ridden a bike with a proper (i.e. non standard) exhaust note in a year or more - I've missed it!
Very nice exhaust 😊 Also liked the new info graphics. Nice video.

Rikky, Kawasaki makes a factory heated grips kit for both Z900RS models, but strangely not the Z900.
Thank you for the info 👍😊
Nice review, thank you, stay warm. A favor if I may, have you ridden the kawasaki w800? If so how does it compare to the z900rs' ?
Hello Robert I'm sorry for the delayed reply! I haven't ridden the W800 yet. I'll see if that is possible this year.

The sound's very pleasing indeed, but did it trade away the option of sneaking through built-up areas where the bronze lurk?
This bike still has the original silencer so I think you can get away with not upsetting too many people 😁
sounds pretty good with a fistful. think i'll get one in a couple of years when cheaper ... bullet proof so should be plenty around
Good idea - and yeah they do sound great!
