Thanks for watching!

“Bring forth the Holy Hand Grenade!”
O Lord, bless this thy Hand Grenade that with it thou mayest blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy
And Saint Attila raised the hand grenade up on high, saying, 'O Lord, bless this thy hand grenade, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy.' And the Lord did grin. And the people did feast upon the lambs, and sloths, and carp, and anchovies, and orangutans, and breakfast cereals, and fruit bats, and large chulapas
Ah, beat me to it!
"First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it."
Tis but a flesh wound 😂
We'll call it a draw 😂
I want to see Adam watching the coronation in May wearing the full regalia! 🙂
Adam's thought process in the first 8 mins had me in stitches 😂
I love these one day builds series. It’s better then watching anything on live tv. Thanks for sharing your workmanship with us all!
I love the synchronicity of the lid placement with the Alexa door alert! 1:01:22 It's like a "Ta da!" 😄
"I have two brass balls" -Adam Savage is very savage
The surreality of your story was not lost on me. The second you pulled it apart and it started to sing, I was in that shop with you.
Love the story of the musical bottle. My first thought was Grandma Lizzy with the grand kids reaching for the orb, popping the top and offering the kids caramels or scotch mints.
it's ok to appreciate the art that was made FOR british royalty, not BY them! the artisans that made them would be flattered. when you said the plant foam "allows you the freedom to screw up the way you like", definitely speaks to my inner craftsman!
The ARTISTRY & the HISTORY of them.
Every maker knows that moment that you SEE the thing that you've been imagining and problem-solving...and the laughter bursts forth. I love it.
And Saint Attila raised the hand grenade up on high, saying, 'O Lord, bless this thy hand grenade, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy.'
And the number of the counting shall be 3. No more. No less.
@@phillyedhrjone, two, five
As a Brit and hearing Adams future plans for the orb had me rolling with laughter, I can’t think of anything more disjointed and brilliant that you could do with it.
Make the Septa a GIANT lighter and the Crown a Ashtray. 😂
Bring out the Holy Handgranade of Antioch!
Always enjoy a little Adam Savage Meridian Response...
Yes, of course! The Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch! 'Tis one of the sacred relics Brother Maynard carries with him.
Yeah I’m also always reminded of the Holy hand-grenade of Antioch of Monty Python fame “Tis but a scratch” perhaps a build for another day if we’re lucky plus it’s an excuse to make the box too and Adam loves a box.
When Adam said he thought of making it a cigarette holder I thought of the exact same mechanism he promptly shows after. I think there could be no more fitting absurd use for this object and feel it is now its destiny. What a wonderful experience you could share with others, the laughs it would evoke, priceless. Don't smoke kids.
Just use it to dispense candy, like lollipops
@@Naf623 or candy cigs! The crunchy kind or the gum!
This makes me want to add brass elements to my own builds. Thanks for the inspiration!
It took me a few minutes of thinking about it to remember that it would easily be possible to salvage brass like Adam is using from household appliances, such as floor lamps.
Tested's music selection 110% on-point today.
Adam you still need to make the other scepter, the spurs, and the swords! The royal collection trust images are inspiring!
These are actually pretty relaxing to have on in the background
Standing applause till my hands do ache! Big vote up on the dispenser idea... maybe make the tubes big enough for a set of drills, for a bit of bling in the shop one day :)
Don't know what professionals do, but when I do crafting with beads I scoop the needle through the container of beads. Usually pick up several at a time. Saves a lot of effort when you don't need to thread them meticulously. " One, two, five, uh three!"
It's the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch!
With the resonant brass balls and the buzzy saw, I think Adam should record a world music album.
Speaking of music being played on things that are not instruments. ua-cam.com/video/b1Ki0DkKCDQ/v-deo.html Device Orchestra is hella entertaining.
Adam Savage's Melodic Resonances.
Hells bells! Those wingnuts. 😂
Awesome build btw.
You know what they say about pneumatic cutting tools: best to be operated blade up, cutting towards your hands, with your work in your lap - preferably while using no PPE.😂😂 You are the true King, Savage. All hail. Long may you reign.
Fellow Brits, I move to accept Adam as next in line, its mostly ceremonial anyway, and I'd love to see his version of a christmas message.
Rare form, Adam.
You're a joy and a treasure.
@24:13 Those baby Kant Twist clamps are as cute as a little speckled pup and just as much fun.
You should build a replica of the Royal Coronation Spoon. It’s pretty amazing. Particularly for a spoon.
Watching this got me to thinking about how difficult it would have been to make a perfect orb by hand with the tools of the day. I would LOVE to see the process used to make a perfect orb by hand fit enough for royalty.
I suspect the original is/was far less perfect then it seems, just close enough as it's meant just to be held by the monarch and if it was good enough that you wouldn't see any major flaws by eye it would be deemed "good enough"
@SampoPaalanen You're probably right. I wonder tho how many crafters lost their livlihoods or more because the monarch disagreed with how good "good enough" was.
@@ShaggyJustin Probably not that many as a Royal commission would have most likely been done by a guild master (or similar master craftsman) and those had a fair bit of political influence, if a king or emperor had unrealistic standards he could find that no guild would want to work with them.
@@SampoPaalanen Excellent point.
adam singing with his tool was the highlight of my day 9:33
My heart rate rises exponentially every time i see Adam put a Sortamo on the edge of his bench teetering. Please Adam stop my heart cant take it.
Credit to Adam to pulling it off (as usual) but Monday morning quarterbacking here, you had the hole in the top of the of the "balls" already. I would have made up a quick mandrel and chucked that in the lathe. Then you could have parted off at exactly where you wanted it without the craziness of a cut-off wheel and leaving a superior edge in the process. Always good to see other people's approach to solving the same problem. Great build.
It's round, why isn't it in the lathe?
So pleased to find this comment, I thought I was crazy. Orb is round. Orb has a hole in the top to grab it by. Orb could have gone in the lathe.
He likes to freehand stuff,
It’s a flex
@@MichaelEilers He also likes to use his lathe.
Just a note, I also totally saw "BIG FLAW" just before you said it, and thought "whuh?", and then you showed it clearly and acknowledged it.
The laugh he always does when he's super happy with what he's done. Haha
You are one hell of a craftsman Mr Savage😊
I had a similarly absurd thought of having it open to reveal an overflowing bowl of popcorn. It wouldn't be as much set-and-forget as a cigarette dispenser, but I do enjoy the absurdity
That wine bottle cigarette dispenser is one of the coolest things I think I've ever seen. I don't even smoke, but I now want a globe filled with booze that I can slot that into. Incredible.
Damn you tobacco for being so aesthetically compelling
I dunno about cigarettes in this day and age but I could really see the orb hinging open to a bunch of mini bottles of Crown Royal.
Cosplay as Jack Sparrow...running around the Tower of London with the full set!! " I got the Jewlles!!!"
Final product looks really good!
I love Adams sense of humor 😂
"The lightness of touch" aspect even shows up in Adam's use of a Japanese hand saw, where he demonstrates that allowing the blade to work at its own pace is key. No forcing, as many would do, just let the tool "do its thing".
"I have two brass balls" now now I'm sure you have balls of steel man
no no, not balls of steel. balls of brass
Excellent end both in product and it's application. Always enjoy spending time with you.
Long live king Adam! King of our hearts. At his coronation the anthem shall be sung by assorted power tools in 4 part harmony.
Starting episodes with asmr like that is 21st century, bob ross level of genius.
Threading small nuts in tight spaces, and knowing your love for tools, have you ever used a nut cross wrench for radio controlled cars? Cheap and handy !
I really want one of the jewels to be a slide switch which causes it to emit Thermal Detonator noises.
4:30 the sound of this lil guy screaming is cracking me up 😂😂😂
For one of your one-day builds, you could make the cane that Sophie receives from turnip head at the beginning of Howl's Moving Castle.
2:36 "*holding up two brass ball to form one brass butt* Adam: "Oooh, it looks like a cell undergoing mytosis..." Wholesome Adam is wholesome.
"And since I just cleaned up the shop, I don't know where it is, but it's precisely what I need..." Painfully relatable.
the liquor bottle/cigarette dispenser story had me right there with you for sure. mind blown
If I had seen that musical bottle in the middle of an alleyway, I would've thought I was losing it 😂
first thing i here when i click the video. "I have two brass balls."
did not expect to hear an Anything Goes reference in 2023. it's been 17 years since my high school did that show
I knew this would be good, thanks Adam and the Tested team.
Hello, Corrina Stanley. Nice to see you here!
@@MyNameisRahl lol hey Dean (waves)
A London reference and you have the perfect deep cut reference to "Trigger Happy"!!!!
Of Course! The Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch!
I'd be tempted to make a Grey Poupon dispensor.
You bring me such a sense of calm.. you remind me of a tutor I had cause I was a trouble lmfao he tought me so much about the process of building things... Any idea he would show me how I can make it real. Keep being you 💯
Adam you basically made a channel of my favorite part of myth
Busters, you bring goofy and happiness building shit and explaining your thoughts process
The more I watch Adam in his shop, the more I understand Jamie.
As the orb opens you hear Eric Idle singing "Always look On The Bright Side Of Life", inside would be a selection of cigarettes, cigarillo's and a few cigars, some of those with loads.
9:51 - Adam sounds like somebody trying to tune the drones on busted set of bagpipes.
Great build as usual Adam! How about a Faberge Egg next?
I'm intrigued as to which one he would pick to make.
Highlight of my day...possibly my week: Hearing Adam Savage say "We're gonna measure my balls." and being completely serious
When Adam suggested the cigarette dispenser idea, I thought "holy smokes"!
Garden foam can be bad for the lungs. Keep safe ♥
Extraordinary that a man who crafts Lightsabers is also drawn to the Crown Jewels. Clearly a man of eclectic taste - but I rather suspect that the technical challenge is the draw.
BTW @ 1:16 reminds me of Barbarella (or the Bicentennial Man bending over).
On finishing this project Adam immediately orders two more orbs just so he can play them.
Is soldering on the foam creating any carcinogens? I'm super mind-blown! I have a wonderfully unfortunate skill of caution when I'm excited with new things.
Probably it's burning foam not sure why he's doing that with so many better options in his shop. Like clay, Playdough or a vice. But the flux is probably way worse anyway after a few hours your nose will burn. Your fingers will also get raw hangnails from the vaporized acid flux.
I really like what you've done with the time lapses this time! The explanation picture-in-picture with the assembly. Though the one assembling the cross is a lot of very fast, wide movements, a bit unpleasant to look at at that speed
For your safety adam.. floral foam usually contains formaldehyde so you might want to avoid heating it. It's really nasty stuff...
"This is the last hurrah, and then I'm mostly done with the crown jewels."
Does this mean I shouldn't mention the three swords of state, or the coronation spoon, or the chain of office? Or the crown jewels of Spain, France, or Austria? ;-)
Lovely work Mr. Savage!
Actually, it would be interesting to put either a Skittles dispenser in there or a music box that plays the James Bond Theme
Take your executive bifocals and make them an intermediate prescription over a stronger near prescription. Add a jeweler's loupe and i think you'll have better luck being able to focus on the detail work you do. Plus I'd add some side shields to your glasses to prevent metal shards and debris from getting into your eyes. Thanks for so much Adam.
Great build!
I like that you can see the hammer organization change about a fourth of the way in.
"Balls of brass sir! Polished to the nth degree..."
Holy shit, that liquor bottle that is secretly a cigarette dispenser and lighter AND plays a song is the coolest fucking thing I've seen in a long time... And I don't even smoke cigarettes! Discovering that on accident would have also made me feel like I discovered a glitch in the Matrix lmao. Awesome find!
"but alas... I can see... that would not fly" is a phrase I will be saying from now on😂
I'm curious why you didn't cut the first slices with it on the lathe? Seems like you could get a nice even, smooth cut with it already on there without the trouble of using the grinder and saw.
This is a real good one. The build was fun and the banter was great. Brandy :)
The episode where Adam descends into madness
That needs to open, have a light inside and a small speaker going angelic choir -style "aaaaaaaa" with it.
Ty Adam... very entertaining
A supersized Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch! Now you need a large size Book of Armaments. Remember to count to three (No more, no less). XD
The hysterical laughing when it's completed was perfect lol, it made me smile & I like that 🤓😇
17:35 - When your mind is tired, it tends to be way easier to discover funny stuff than otherwise. Even so, I could not convince my own brain that the lowest box is titled "Hinges", my mind insisted that it is titled "Minges". 😂😂
That would make a hell of a Candy Dish filled with Jelly Babies to set on your office desk.
🧐
Jamie Love the harmonics with the air saw, what you need to do is to pull start an Air Chisel every time you use one. get it right and it sounds like a chainsaw starting ! lol
Love how he goes from his brass balls to the crown jewels.
As for what to put in it.... i can see it filled with Quality Street chocolates in all their colours, would look a right treasure when upened up.
adam is kinda unhinged and i love it lol the bell sounds in the begining and the baaaa baaaaaaa baabababaaaaaaaaaaaa lmao had me rolling
fun fact the pitch of the orb at (0:38) is a G, which is the first note of the Mandalorian theme :)
Nitrocellulose guitar lacquer has a very unique smell, even after drying and curing for years. Old Les Pauls smell like vanilla when you open the case, even when they're from the '50s. You can instantly tell if a guitar has a nitro finish by smelling it. So, if you ever see a guy in a guitar store smelling the guitars, he's not weird and he doesn't have a fetish; he's seeing if they're finished in nitro or poly lacquer. Some people think it contributes to the tone of an electric guitar, but I just think it looks a heck of a lot nicer than poly.
