Thailand and Cambodia are very safe as long as you don't make a habit of playing in traffic. Not much person on person crime. If she did this in Colombia or Nigeria or something I might agree.

Hi Yuka! I'm glad you didn't try to stay any longer in Cambodia. You probably would have been harassed even more and you keep your spirits pretty high. I think your next place will be better. I'm also glad you weren't hurt by the monkey or had anything stolen by them. You are pretty brave to go on your own but you must also have a good sense of danger and quick enough to keep yourself safe. Take Care and I'll see you for the next stop.

Cambodia is probably one of those places where it is really affordable if you know where to go. But if you are a tourist then you pay much higher prices. Such a beautiful country with incredible history though. Thank you for sharing this journey with us

It's interesting to see a Japanese person have to experience the real world where people lie, cheat, and steal. Where things can be messy, disorganized, and complicated. There are not many places on Earth as "nice" as Japan. That's part of its charm.
Are you traveling alone. I would not recommend this at all. In Japan you can do this almost anywhere. Japan will make you feel that the whole world is safe. Please be careful. My wife and I have been traveling together for 40 years so we love your sense of adventure. You are so amazing.
My daughter worked in Siem Reap with the peace corps, i visited her in 2018. It is a magical place, we also went to the Pyramid of Jayavarman IV called Koh Ker (it is about 120 km from Siem Reap). I would highly recommend hiring a car to take you there it was amazing (just watch out for the Tarantulas)

You should had some informations about the price of transporting before traveling to these kind of countries. Specially countries like Cambodia. Yuka chan be careful doing the traveling alone 🤗❤
Don't forget that every country has its own "民度". so it may not just end in a bad feeling. Keep in mind that you're living in one of the safest countries in the world. please take care!
Angkor Wat is one of my favorite places to visit. I remember paying extra and getting an air conditioned car to take me around. I remember people being very aggressive trying to get money from you. It's best to just ignore them. Don't even say "No", just ignore them and they will eventually go away. If you start talking to them, even to say no, it increases the chances of them tricking you and you getting ripped off. Like with the monkeys, look confident! There are some other countries like this but don't let it stop you from visiting There are many countries where it is normal for people to drive like that. There aren't really any lanes and people use up all the space. Yes it's more dangerous but I guess you get use to it. I remember siem reap being really cheap. I figured the rest of the country would be even cheaper (being less touristy). Maybe prices have gone up alot.

Cambodians are 1000x more chill than the Vietnamese. It's unfortunate that she spent all her time in heavily touristed areas where people harass you.

I lived both in Phnom Penh and mostly Siem Reap and the trips to Phnom Penh would always have many stops along the way with very bad driving.
