The crewel work is stunning ...thank you so much Marion for showing us how you build up each little area with simple stitches creating a fabulous effect. ❤
Dear Marion…recently my 24 year old granddaughter found a crewel work project that I had made over 50 years ago. She fell in love with it even with the popular yellow, orange, brown & green colors of the 1970’s. She asked if she could have it to frame for her apartment! So that’s where it will hang. She will be getting married next year and with your excellent teachings, I will make her a “current” one in the colors of her wedding bouquet and use many of the gorgeous Marion taught stitches. I wanted you to know how your generosity in sharing your beautiful talents brings joy in so many ways to so many people! Thank you so much! And I enjoyed seeing your sweet kitty!
Thank you for your message 😊 It just goes to prove how fashions change and come back round to a new generation.. I know exactly the sort of colours you mean! A few years ago that style would be considered dated... Now it's vintage 😅 and being rediscovered by the generation that didn't live through it... What goes around, comes around...
Gorgeous ❤ You will be happy to know that I now can do satin stitch 💙 thanks to you explaining about laying in stitches...amazing how much better and easier the satin stitch is.
That's brilliant Pam. I'm so pleased. Sometimes old ways can be improved upon. I don't always lay in a framework myself anymore, but it's definitely the easiest way of learning how to lay down the stitches where you want them☺️
Hi Marion, it truly is lovely to spend time with you, watching you stitch & seeing your page coming to fruition xx Just gorgeous, the colours of yarn are so nice xxx Happy you were able to get out in your lovely garden. We're still having very gusty, cold days here in OZ, lovely & sunny, but not pleasant to sit be sitting in 😣😣 I too am trying to cull my stash of knitting yarns, crocheting a blanket, just the one where you go round & round, I had just finished 2 rows of green, tied it off & realised I had only done 3 stitches instead of 6 in one corner,so had to pull it out & do it again !! But thanx to you & all the other talented you tubers I watch, who have taught me patience, I didn't chuck it aside like I once would have done, but kept watching you & sorted it out 🤗🤗🤗🤗 Thanx to all xx Enjoy the sun & your lovely garden 😘😘😘😘😘
I'm proud of you for that Pauline! You'll be pleased that you fixed it and carried on when you get to the finish 😊🧶 I'm trying to think of projects that will use up yarn quickly, but that I can either use or gift... I still have wool from the first proper cardigan I knit and that's a very long time ago! The time has come to use it or lose it from the stash...😅
I could watch you embroider all day! Beautiful work, and I love how you explain how you manage your needle and thread, its very instructive, so I feel I could give it go. 💜
Good morning Marion from NZ, I have been following you on this one of my favourites needle work. I did a Crewel embroidered cushion and wall hanging long time ago and loved it so much. It is an absolutely beautiful art of needle work one can ever enjoy doing. I would encourage young teenagers/ladies to take up the skills Mrs Marion has put up on many of her excellent videos. Marion, you teach from your heart and I personally appreciate your sincerity in a way teaching, sharing it with so many out there. Thank you Marion and blessings as always, Thelma ❤❤
Thank you Thelma. I thought I'd showcase some embroidery that I just don't see as much. Plus you can then use those stitches or combinations in anything else you want to do 💐🌸🪡
Love that you did the acorns & cups using different stitches. I thought - that’s my favourite, then you did a different one and i changed my mind - no, that’s my favourite etc etc. So much choice with a few stitches Thank you

What a lovely message to read Linda 💐💐💐 I'm so happy to hear you're re inspired with your stitching and crafting. It sounds as if your needle and thread are going full pelt on making lots of things! I know exactly what that's like... Being in that creative frame of mind where you seem to think of more things to do all the time. It's amazing you're younger than me and already a Great Grandma! My children have yet to have children themselves even though they're both in their 30's . I'm sure they're all going to appreciate the time and love that have gone into making their handmade gifts. As always the page is turning out lovely. Really enjoying you teaching us crewel work. You really make it look so achievable. Even the dreaded bullion knots. The acorn looked so cute. I will have to give those a try again. Your tutorials are so clear to follow. When Misty cried out my cat looked up at the screen. After that he watched the screen for a while. I think he was watching your tutorial as well. 👍🏻😀 xx
Marion, I am so happy I just discovered your site I live in Prince Edward Island, Canada. I have many gorgeous colour threads and you are a true inspiration. I like to draw my own patterns. Have a great day and thanks a million ... your work is beautiful... Ginny
So Nice to see you sitting outside in the garden 😊🌺🌿 September is a lovely month of the year if the weather is fine. Not to hot and not to cold. I hope I can do the new stiches this week. They look nice. 🙂 Thank's for this episode! Greetings ❤ from me in Sweden
You really are fabulous - I downloaded the pattern =, and have started to stitch -I was so happy this morning when I saw the you tube pop up - I have been waiting for it for ages!!!! well - at least a few days - you are so lovely to share your skills and knowledge with us xx
This is so helpful, very well explained, I haven't started on crewel work yet but I have everything ready, and really looking forward to starting. This video is great for a beginner. So from one Marian to another, thank you very much.
Oh another Marion! How wonderful.. I'm not sure if you've seen the very start of this page. I did it over 5 weeks ua-cam.com/video/Ps8SVCXWtnQ/v-deo.htmlsi=FHAZhoGrbddRhIFR
Hi Marion I’ve been following you on crewel stitching. My god your explanation and using the stitches!! You just make it look so simple. I always enjoy your videos, very clear explanations 🙏🙏😊thank you
Wow! I’ve never done any Jacobean work. This is lovely, gotta do some. I’ve also not done much with wool threads either, but I love the texture it gives. You have inspired me!
I have been following this and how beautiful it is! I must get my ‘Tree of Life’ kit out and make a start as I bought it about 15 years ago at the Harrogate show. I even have a Lowery stand that’s never used as I tend to stitch in hand. Just need to find a hoop. I am looking forward to seeing this beauty finished. Can’t believe the amount of needle craft knowledge you have! I dabble in a lot of needle crafts too but couldn’t teach anything in depth like you do!
Hello Marion. I am amazed at how your piece of crewel work is developing. Each week it just gets more and more beautiful. I can only wonder what you will create with your next project when you have set your bar so high. Have a great week.
Crumbs... I've already decided on the next two pages. Plus I've been debating which types of embroidery I can introduce before someone says it's too difficult! I've tried to be incremental. No point in staying with the simple stuff😂🧵🪡
Thank you Marion for your video . As always excellent teaching. I think my computer has finally bit the dust so no printing at the moment. 🙄 I have gone through my crewel book and taken a pattern from there to practice with before I start the kit. Thanks to your tutorials I am feeling more positive about it. Gosh three days of sun here in the UK, can we stand it ?😂
Amazing new stitching. I still have problems with bullion knots. I.dont haveva millners needle but saw you using a crewel one. And i did not notice a bump. Will look andvsee what i have in my crewel ones. My problem might be thread maybe as well as needle. Perhaps your light threat makes a difference 🤔 i will try again or will have to come up with another stitch meantime. I saw the weaving and 🙈 it gives me trouble. It comes out at the end butnits stressful til i am done! Just keep practicing right? Love all the colors you are introducing! Its gonna look amazing! Thank you for being patient and taking time to go over things, explain and give tips! I am still planning on meeti g you in person. Think we are moving to Spain early next year so once settled there i will plan a trip. 🙏 stay safe!
Where do you live now Elaine? I'd use any needle my thread would go through. You just have to make sure you don't hold the wraps too tightly. You should be able to feel it under your fingers as you pull the thread through..
@marionsworld24 right now we came back to the US after living 14 years in Panama. We do like to travel and we never see our children and grandkids so why stay here. Best we go travel and have better quality of life. So once we get there and are settled I will definitely plan to go to the UK. Orher than Southampton for our Cruise last July it's been a long time and we have family there. But I'm determined to meet you in person! You are one amazing woman! My hero!
I was thinking just today, I’d like to ask you if there’s a hoop holder that a person could sit on if sitting on a couch to embroider. You just answered my question! Thank you!
I am. The new batch were delivered but there was a problem with them and they've had to go back to the company that prints them. Otherwise I wouldn't have been out of stock! As soon as they get them to me I'll list them again.
Here's the link to the Stitch Journal playlist. You'll find all of the videos in order here. I usually work on each page for 4 weeks. One more to finish this one though! ua-cam.com/play/PLOcpU7tS8uYAj1mfl-GfLi14IZKVaRiBi.html&si=epjtOfYQ83zcHxSh

Wow! I’ve never done any Jacobean work. This is lovely, gotta do some. I’ve also not done much with wool threads either, but I love the texture it gives. You have inspired me!
They're so lovely to stitch with..
Fabulous again Marion truly beautiful work
Thank you Su.☺️🪡💐
Fantastic ❤❤❤
I have been following this and how beautiful it is! I must get my ‘Tree of Life’ kit out and make a start as I bought it about 15 years ago at the Harrogate show. I even have a Lowery stand that’s never used as I tend to stitch in hand. Just need to find a hoop. I am looking forward to seeing this beauty finished. Can’t believe the amount of needle craft knowledge you have! I dabble in a lot of needle crafts too but couldn’t teach anything in depth like you do!
You've got all the stuff!☺️ If you find your hoop you're off... 🧵🪡
Cuanto aprendo contigo Marion, gracias!!

Beautiful
Hello Marion. I am amazed at how your piece of crewel work is developing. Each week it just gets more and more beautiful. I can only wonder what you will create with your next project when you have set your bar so high. Have a great week.
Crumbs... I've already decided on the next two pages. Plus I've been debating which types of embroidery I can introduce before someone says it's too difficult!
I've tried to be incremental. No point in staying with the simple stuff😂🧵🪡

So beautiful xx
☺️💐💐💐
Thank you Marion for your video . As always excellent teaching. I think my computer has finally bit the dust so no printing at the moment. 🙄 I have gone through my crewel book and taken a pattern from there to practice with before I start the kit. Thanks to your tutorials I am feeling more positive about it. Gosh three days of sun here in the UK, can we stand it ?😂
I know it's been so lovely.. not a breath of wind here either. Tonight's forecast didn't look so good though..😏
Thanks!
😊💐
Thank you, Marion! Stunning crewel work😊

Looking good Marion ❤ xx
My hero!
Gorgeous ❤
❤❤❤
I was thinking just today, I’d like to ask you if there’s a hoop holder that a person could sit on if sitting on a couch to embroider. You just answered my question! Thank you!
☺️👍 whereabouts are you Trish?

Marion, Will you be getting more Green Man Totes? I would love to buy one. Thank you
I am. The new batch were delivered but there was a problem with them and they've had to go back to the company that prints them. Otherwise I wouldn't have been out of stock! As soon as they get them to me I'll list them again.
😊👍🏻❤️
Hi Marion. Could you please tell me which video I should watch to see the start of this crewel work project. Thank you.
Here's the link to the Stitch Journal playlist. You'll find all of the videos in order here. I usually work on each page for 4 weeks. One more to finish this one though! ua-cam.com/play/PLOcpU7tS8uYAj1mfl-GfLi14IZKVaRiBi.html&si=epjtOfYQ83zcHxSh
