In my experience, Attitude, Team Work, and willing to learn, explore, and excel. Anything can be learned as long as you don't have a short term memory.

This was great. One thing to point out, data scientists are different from data analysts. So it goes in order of data analyst to data engineer to data scientist. Data scientists have the highest experience and get paid the most (they usually have Phd’s). Thanks for the awesome video :)

You should! There aren't enough woman in the industry, and I'm super curious to learn what the difference is between DS' at large companies are like (inc the roles) vs what I tend to do which is DS for small tech companies.
Yes please!! Do I need be good at data structures coding questions like binary tress, arrays, dynamic programming etc..? I know I need to be good at SQL, R or python (data science libraries) and machine learning. Any help would be appreciated and would really help me to prepare for the big 4 data scientist interview.
@@vignanreddy3491 You definitely need to know arrays to code. For binary trees and dynamic programming, you can just know very simple or fundamental of them. It will be hard to believe that you know machine learning but don't know anything about binary tree and dynamic programming.

I have completed my under graduation course with Physics and Computer science and now I am doing my post graduation in Physics . Can I be able to become a data scientist ? I have also some basic knowledge in R and Coding. I am from India.
Im switching from psychology major to data science. You gotta find what courses are needed and learn them urself or ask your university to take extra courses like lin algebra and so on. Thats what I did

If you spend some time on data science forums and blogs, you'll soon come across this joke: "What's the best way to become a data scientist? Get a Ph.D. in Physics." 😊 The joke might not be funny (at first sight) but it explains something about the current status of the data science field: many Physics graduates have a relatively easy time getting jobs as data scientists.
That's because Physics programs are known for helping students master scientific methods, critical thinking, thorough testing, and large amounts of data. All these skills are critical to a data scientist.
With your education, you're already off to a great start. 😊 Next, it's best to focus on building your portfolio. Start with data science competition sites like Kaggle (if you have no idea yet for a project), or take problems you're passionate about and figure out how to solve them using data science techniques (starting with finding data, getting it, cleaning it, modeling it, etc. all the way to presenting it in a visually appealing way, or, even more impressive, making your model available as some kind of web app.)
Don't get discouraged if you feel overwhelmed at first. Believe me, any sane person would feel overwhelmed. 😁 Data science is a huge field and, theoretically, the learning never stops. Just take it one step at a time. Best wishes to you.

it depends on what you're coding but the fun kind of coding is about problem solving using logic.
Idk about others but for me coding is like teaching a child to do something and amend their mistakes (bugs) when they make some, best part is they don't poop
I think of writing code like playing with Legos or playing on Minecraft. Sure, Minecraft can be super boring if there is nothing you want to build, but if there is something you want to build it can be a lot of fun.
Programming is a creative medium, like writing a book, making music, or doing multimedia. You're building something and getting whatever it is you want out into the world, but if there is nothing you want to write about, writing a novel might be boring too.
While programming can be used to build so many things, my favorite kinds of things to build are automation projects. Eg, this coffee company has beans I like, but they're rarely for sale. I wrote a web page scraper that in the background checks when those beans become available and emails me. Though, if they were super rare, I could automate it further and have it auto buy beans for me. This might be boring to you if rare coffee isn't your drink of choice, but to me it's something I care about.
