Spiffing video! TRAFALGAR! How Spiffing! There's a HAC Trombonist on loan today.
The marches played were,
1) 0:15-Trafalgar (Yayyyyy 😅)
2) 2:28-Guards Armoured Division
3) 5:44-If you're Irish & Begorrah
(Return to Barracks)
4) 6:20-Birdcage Walk
5) 9:11-Bond of Friendship
6) 13:45-The Rising of the Lark
Trafalgar is one of my favourites too. 🙂 Along with Bond of Friendship.
@@brycecordry6153 Both Excellent marches! Trafalgar has always been my number 1! Just love the Trombones! Bond of Friendship is up there too!
I’ll have to edit my comment to Mike about the guest trombonist. I was hoping you’d show up
@@delvinrodriguez3341 Thank you so much 🤗
I love hearing the echo of the band ,just before exiting the barrack gate .I often wonder if the neighbors conduct household chores in time with the music .????
Lol
A great video. I like the random opening street scene with horse-drawn carriage. Well done. Love it.
@@Scouzeboy Thank you 🙏

Hello, Lenny and Ig🙂
@@charlottecunningham2141 Hello dear Charlotte. Good morning. Hugs from me in Windsor 🤗
Hello Lenny, Lovely looking day in Windsor today, thank you for another Great Video!
It’s my pleasure 🤗
I asked this question a few days ago on another Windsor video but no-one's responded. Why is there always a guardsman marching in the band (in this case in the second-last rank) without any instrument?
It's either the Director of Music (Officer commanding the band) or his deputy, the Bandmaster (a senior NCO, as can be seen in this video). They will conduct the band for the static pieces inside the castle.
Hello there, sorry I never saw your last comment on the previous video, I usually try to go back. But, to answer your question the Guardsman in Question isn't a Guardsman, he's a musician. Specifically a Bandmaster, he's Bandmaster (CSgt) J. Brown, Irish Guards. He's essentially the second in command after the Director of Music. He helps with lots of things on the administrative side of the Band. Helping with the selection of marches/music is also one of his duties, and leading the Band when the Director of Music isn't present. Of course when the Director of Music is present he takes over. The main Difference between a Bandmaster and Director of Music is their rank, Bandmasters start from Colour Sergeant (CSgt) to Warrant Officer Class 1 (WO1). Directors of Music are Commissioned Officers. Usually Captain or Lieutenant Coronels. Hopefully this helps!
@@delvinrodriguez3341 Thanks to you and @wu_1116 for your replies/explanations. I've never been in any of the armed forces. I'm nearly 80 and missed National Service by about two years
@@delvinrodriguez3341 do you know anything about director Peter Brydon’s whereabouts? I don’t see him like I used to with the Irish guards band
@@charlottecunningham2141 Hello Charlotte! I do hope you're keeping well! My apologies for the 3 day late reply. But, Peter Brydon has stepped down as DOM. Now the Band of the Irish Guards have a new DOM. A lady DOM to be exact. She's Captain Clare Lawrence. She took over in the beginning of July. So, it's wonderful to see another female DOM!
What is the march at 6:30? Thanks!
I may be wrong, but I believe it's "Birdcage Walk", followed by "Bonds of Friendship".
Colour sergeant(?) missed the "change arms" at 5:05
A few missed or delayed changes along the way
