Five years ago. Seems like a good milestone to do another tour of these trees and see how they are doing. I for one would absolutely love seeing that.
I'm kinda of new and watching your videos as they are popping up. This video is four years ago, my word at all the work you an Aron have done. Just magical!
Fantastic video. To go back in time to see Laura's beautiful garden just starting out. ❤
That little Russell is the best photobomber on the planet. I enjoy these vidoes. Your energy is inspiring!
Russell has really become a part of the family quickly. He seems to entertain himself yet be the family clown in your videos! You picked a good kitty! 😍
I am in awe of you Laura. Having followed you for the previous 6 months or so, then seeing this video from 2018 and where you started from is amazing. It's like there was nothing in your yard then. Now it is so full. This video showed me your ability to establish a garden landscape with good choices and especially the colors of the trees. As I watched I began to think of you as the Garden Artist.
I'm so happy you inserted the picture of the 3 birch trees. Now I completely understand!
LOVE that birch clumping idea. Oh, how I love the clump birch look. This is a brilliant idea! Your property is beautiful. Thank you for all the videos. I'm having an abundance of ideas for our down-sized property of a 1/2 acre.
Please don't ever apologize for the length of your videos...the longer, the better! I love your tree selections, but the Wisteria is my favorite--it's just gorgeous.
Wow, your trees are fabulous, and your flowers are really starting to show off, too! Thanks so much for the glimpse of Benjamin and Aaron, also. 💖💖💖💖 (Hearts for everyone including Russell).
LOL 😄your so funny you take a swell close up! And as for RED Flowers we don't mind it's your garden and we just luv watching you create such beautiful garden spaces heck you can PLANT black and brown flowers and I'm pretty sure we will be like ooooohhhh so pretty lmao! LUV the trees oh and corn and vines can't wait to see that 😉! Have a good one oh and I luv the longer videos 👍short ones medium ones just keep them coming lol....bye!
I don't know what I love more, Russell shadowing you throughout the tour or the cameo of little Benjamin!
LOVE your longer videos, site tours and the progress you're making. It's helping me get through 35 degree days here in NY where we're quite a different Zone 5. Much love to you and yours!
Beautiful Laura! Your intelligence, passion, and humbleness is so appreciated and loved! ❤️
Never too long or too close!! 😊 Love your choice and placement of trees!💚🌳🌳
I'm so thrilled that you are finally getting to plant trees...You said ya'll have planned & dreamed of planting them since ya'll moved in 😊 And the thought behind each one is so educational. (SIDE NOTE: At about 9 minutes in I began thinking "oh dang, just 11 minutes left! " 😁😟😉)
We love the long videos! :) beats everything on Netflix!
Love this video! The wisteria is absolutely beautiful, I love purple so much, your strawberries are amazing and growing great, seeing Russell bouncing around in the background just makes me giggle, and the perfect ending is seeing your amazing family all together! thank you again for an awesome video, I love your landscape and house and just all of it.
So happy to see a 20+ minute video 😁😁
In the second to last video you posted on 12-20-2020. I thought I’d go back & look at an old video you posted & see a “blast from the Past”. Amazing the transformation from the entree to your property to that corner you just had the telephone polls taken down. And the trees & ideas you had back then. All that you accomplished. But most of all how you & your family stay in check & stay grounded. Humble & personally gave me your gift of knowledge & internet friendship. Merry Christmas 🎄 wishing you a healthy birth of your baby girl. Blessings & In Christ, Catherine from Michigan zone 6
Everything is getting more and more beautiful! You two work the hardest of anyone I know! I don't know how you do it! I can't wait to see your black picket fence around your garden and the hay rack planters you are going to put along your fence line.😍😍😍
It brings me so much JOY seeing your Trees and Garden as we await spring in upstate NY. So wonderful to see someone who loves nature and all it's beauty.
Haha...Russell in the background pouncing... he's so funny.
Love, love, love, love, love! All of the trees. All of the time. 😍 🌳
As an apartment dweller may I say... *jealous!* Thank you for the lovely tour!
I feel your pain. I have a crape myrtle and a smoke tree in containers on my patio and have no clue what my long term plan is with them!
I have a few indoor trees.
But I'd love to have a yard with the room to plant beautiful flowering trees!
You have a polydactyl cat too!!! I'll bet that is a sweeet kitty! Our polydactyl is super affectionate.
Found this about trees....so fun to look back at before so much of your work started.
Wow, you guys have been super busy!!!! Everything looks amazing, you are a super mom, I don't know where you get your energy!! Keep the videos coming, I love them!!!! 💕💕💕
Those are some healthy trees you planted! The plum and crabapple are my favorites. We have tons of dogwoods in bloom right now. They have such a beautiful lacy look. I know you will enjoy all the trees you planted.
My husband and I just bought our first home and we will have a yard I never thought I’d get in my first home. The first thing we want to do is plant some trees. This was such a helpful video in deciding what type of trees we should go with! 😍
You are amazing! Look at all that y'all have gotten done with a new baby! I've learned so much in this video and all your videos, thanks for all you do!
your videos are NEVER to long or boring :)
OMG! I can't wait to see all of these trees mature!!! They are going to be SOOOO beautiful!!! I wish you, Aaron and baby Benjamin would come to NY to help me with my garden design!! LOOOOOOOOVE your videos. You are so inspiring. Would love to see more of the baby too!
"Anyway, back to trees" love your passion! The bunny is adorable.
I can JUST see the new black picket fence in the background....so exciting....can't wait to see it!
Omg, I love every single tree you selected. I never thought I'd get so excited about trees! Lol. Thanks for sharing.
I absolutely love your videos! I am a newbie to plants and gardening. My husband and I just bought our first home and watching your videos has really got me motivated to my my little acre lot a garden sanctuary! Thanks so much for the knowledge and inspiration you provide!
I just love the portable pop of color that is Russell!!!
I never noticed that your cat has extra toes! So cute! Thanks for the lovely video:)
Red and yellow tulips planted together are very pretty.
Wow very nice trees Laura, can't wait to see them all bloom🌴🌳🌲
You are adorable! Love the garden tours, the education and thought process behind your decisions, and especially seeing the family (Russell, too!) Keep the inspiration coming 💚
Thank you for this wonderful tree tour. Just has made me truly appreciate the diversity available to us.
Hi Laura, let me just say that I think you are amazing! I'm new to your videos and am I ever glad I came across them. You are such an inspiration to us fellow gardeners. Thank you for sharing all of your knowledge with us. Linda Lee
You guys are busy! I feel the same way you do about red! Love it in someone else's garden...cool tones for me! Looking forward to seeing this summer's videos and your progress. Thanks for the peak at Benjamin 😊
I love red flowers(red hibiscus, geranium, impatiens). I always go for them. I know in the summer when we have crazy hot weather like 45C , red is not good as it is a hot colour but white plants would give a cool look to the eye.
what an exciting video! i love love all the trees & new stuff you're putting in! i LOL when i hear your talking of your "issue" w/ reds in the your garden...i am exactly the same w/ reds & orange blooms... but love red & orange foliage for fall. Russell is a crack up, he needs his own video 🌳😺
The trees all look terrific...but the Wisteria really excited me!!!
I have that plum tree & it gets so loaded with blooms in the spring, the branches get weighed down! I love that it keeps the purple/burgundy foliage all year
Yayyy! I cannot wait for progress videos for years to come🌲🍁🍂❤️❤️
Enjoy watching all your videos. Love seeing the progress of your garden since I don't have my own (I only have a 3x10 garden bed). I just love to dream and wish I have a big area like yours to plant and do gardening. Hi Benjamine and Aaron.
I enjoyed every minute of this and all of your videos!
We have big Cis plum, it's been 9 years since we planted that but our Royal raindrops crabapple was diseased after couple years. May be it was diseased before it got to us but we had to take it out last year. I am sure you will take better care than we did. Congrats for new trees, may they grow lush and strong!
Those Birch! And omg, the Wisteria! So beautiful, I can't wait to see their progress. It's snowing/sleeting here in MA right now....can't wait til Spring *actually* arrives so I can get outside! TFS!
Russell follows you around just like Dexter did! What a sweetie
I love the future planning you're doing, I think the same way.. and I'm sure outsiders don't get it till the plan is finished. Good job!!
Love all of those trees !! 🌳 this was one of my favorite videos so far this year! You have a beautiful mix of plants and trees!
I just love your videos. We are dealing with a rather new back yard. We had to remove 9 redwoods. It will be fun to watch your trees grow. I love the multi trunk tree. I have a beautiful multis, olive, smoke and strawberry trees. Thanks for my morning coffee entertainment.
Lucky plants and trees that end up in your yard!
@GardenAnswer Beautiful trees and flowers. You have done a splendid job and I like your taste!
Pink Dog Wood trees are my favorite! I live in NC so all the dog woods are bloomed and it is so pretty! I love your videos they are inspiring, thank you.
The trees you picked are beautiful! Can't wait to watch them grow.
Wonderful tree ideas thank you for taking your time! I think the little Russell Man might be even more of a clinger than Dexter! Loved watching his antics throughout the video and of course it’s always great to the Babes❤️
Our neighbors have chickens and I’m always fighting green blow flies.
Garden is lovely. Love watching.
Love your garden Laura.always waiting for your videos
LOVE the long videos and seeing all the beautiful trees you planted. Am a flowering tree lover so a bit jealous of your zone 5. Awesome information as usual!!
Lots and lots of work and it ends up been so beautiful.
Hey Laura,
I've been watching you and your husband's videos for quite some time and I find your gardens to be very exquisite and charming. I'm an avid gardener myself and it's nice to see people who enjoy planting trees, shrubs, flowers, and other sorts of plants just to add some beauty. I think your selection of trees is great; all of them look beautiful and distinct. Regarding the one spot of the garden that you showed near the end of the video, where you were talking about putting in some evergreens, instead of planting a blue spruce, might I suggest that you plant a Concolor Fir instead. The Concolor Fir or White Fir is a very pretty evergreen, it has light blue to mint-green needles and grows to over 60 feet tall and it is also exceptionally hardy (drought tolerant, alkaline-soil tolerant). If you want to provide a little extra diversity in the evergreen department then I highly recommend it.
Thank you for being real.
Beautiful! I enjoy watching your videos.
love your videos you and your husband work well together very nice
Love the birch trio idea!
Ahhh I love this! Reminded me of my ornamental woody plants class in college when we would walk around and look at trees and learn plant identification 😍 can't wait to see an update tour!
Mmk...just wanna say...I haven't even watched yet..47 seconds in..but I have ONE tree & it is my NEMESIS! A HAWTHORNE TREE that always manages to get at me at least once every year!😡 I cannot fathom why someone would choose to plant something like that in their front yard..it's up against the corner of the house so it dznt even provide much shade...but it came with the house & it's the only one we've got. I'm ALWAYS talking about trees & wishing we had some. I'm a zone 5 sw of Chicago & I'm new to gardening in general..but you're my "go-to garden guru" & I am beyond excited to see this video!! Thaaank U!👏🏻
Every one of your videos are fun and exciting, just love them
Well selected! Laura, you have introduced me to so many plants
I love the longer videos!!!! Loved seeing the trees. That are you want to do with the path sounds like it will be amazing!
I love your all of your videos!! You give so much inspiration to get me motivated and get going. We moved in our house three years ago the first summer being here we did a lot to our front landscape. Now there are so many weeds in it you can't even see the ground. We are working this spring and summer I just don't know where to start it's so bad.
Omg love it amazing those crabapple and the wisteria wow! The one other trees are nice as well!
Wow!! Beautiful. I will definitely be checking out a few of the tree's for my yard.
I feel the same about red flowers! I never could articulate my reasoning as you did. Lol You picked some beautiful trees!!! And that wisteria is gorgeous!
Love the red tulips.
Please do a video on fertilizers! Like which you prefer for what plants and how to determine when plants are getting too much or too little of nutrients.
Also a video on evergreen care would be great as well!
Serious garden goals!! I can't wait to start my garden when we finaly choose a house to buy!!!
Hi, I am a new and first time homeowner here at zone 7. You are amazing! Your videos made me so pumped up to garden but somehow this winter seems so long. Just wanna drop by to let you know i'm a huge fan and you are amazing.
Beautiful trees! Looking forward to watching them grow. Thank you for another inspiring video. You have given me so many ideas to apply to my own beds.
Can't wait to see your trees grown!
Great video! I can’t wait to see the progression of the trees. Our property around the house really needs some trees.
I'm so excited to see how you are going to develop your garden on the vegetable garden side with paths. I want to do the same thing but don't know where/how to start. Can't wait to watch!!!
I had a very large multi trunk tree in my back yard for 16. yrs. got to messy for me so I had it taken out BUT I KEPT trunk as a sculpture in my yard.:)
Every video I watch of yours I think “this is my fav yet!”. This video was no different.
Such an informative video on trees. Loved it. I never thought about the red flowers messing up the color tone of the whole garden. I shall be thinking of that when I plant some annuals. TFS
Beautiful red trees.
Never see a tree with 3 trunks
Amazing.

Oh, I just love your trees!!! Great placement.. isn’t it so much fun. Thank you for sharing. Chris-Raleigh NC
Nice selections in trees. Bet you can't wait for them to mature. My partner and I just bought two types of maples from Tn nursery. Can't wait for them to arrive in November.
Beautiful property.
Enjoy.
the trees you planted are so beautiful
They are all gorgeous 😍
I love progression shots!
