I was surprised the Behringer BA 19A was not included in the comparison (especially since the video was by Thomann).

I think the Behringer sounds about the same as the T-Bone. They look exactly the same, I assume they are the same.

@@arrowintheknee9956 nope they are not. Behringer is MUCH closer to the attack of the Shure. Less boomy than the t.bone. Which is why I have two of the behringer.

@@arrowintheknee9956not even close, Behringer is far better, and it would beat most of these mics, price/quality wise

I like the Shure and Beyerdynamic the best! Just the right amount of high end attack. Thank you for the comparison.

I'm confused, were the sound samples WITH the 902 mixed in?

I bought two behringer mics back when they came out a few years ago for $60 each. Best kick mic for live and studio ever. Has a switch to low cut and it's built like a tank. Takes phantom and lights up so you know if it's on. Thing is killer. Made so many awesome recordings with it. Also used the other as a room mic before and crushed it with a api2500. Killer mics ppl. It's a sleeper.

For me the Beyerdynamic is the best. Adds depth and punch at the same time and has clear attack.

I believe the SE BL8 has filter options, "classic" and "modern", which could get it closer to the brighter mics tested here.

tg d71 is deeper and dryer (also more scooped), I love it! t-bone sounds pretty amazing tho.

How are the filter keys on the bl8 at the time of testing?

Hi, I'm Mattia, the 15-year-old drummer from Italy remember 😁😎?. I have the bheringer BA19A which I think is equal to the BD 500 Beta. I love this microphone, it also has a frequency cut button. It costs around €100. Come and see me on the channel. ❤ ps: As soon as I have all the microphones I will do my first cover with good audio.😅

I bought a Behringer 19a two years ago and I've never looked back. Best $80 I've ever spent on a piece of drum gear. Total no brainer for boundary condenser mic.

sE sounds exactly like the t.bone! So here I would choose the t.bone. I have 2 Behringer ba19-a and love them. I actually pushed recommended it to a lot of pro drummers in Denmark and they ended up loving it as well. LOL.. I should have gotten a commission from Thomann ;-)

Best one is Beyerdynamic! Looking forward to get one from you guys! Btw what’s that thing you use to hold the mics in place? Seems like a very clever tool to have in the studio🤩

I like the beyerdynamic tg d71 on it’s own. Otherwise the e901 paired up with the e902, compliments nicely.

In short, if the kick is well tuned and player knows how to play drums, any mic will be fine.

To me it appears you are trying to prove that the thomann mic can compete with more expensive brands and does not have to hide from them or at least that it is not necessary to spend the extra money on a quality mic. Sorry to say - it does not sound to my taste at all and there are few instances I could find a boundary microphone useful which lacks attack and clarity in the low end. Next time maybe compare it to the Superlux and Behringer competitors. That would be far more useful
