Flysky continues to hit grand slams. I'll be downloading this asap! Futaba and Sanwa offer absolutely nothing like this, in fact, when they want to update the firmware they release an entirely new radio. In fact, Sanwa just released the MT5 with no backwards compatibility with the MT4 so they can sell you $100 receivers. As for Spektrum, that disaster they call the DX6R that runs Android on hardware from 1997 is an absolute dumpster fire. It takes about 2 min to boot up, still freezes from time to time, so laggy at times that it makes old dial up internet look like it's DSL.....but hey, you can watch UA-cam on it.
I don't know why so many companies make smart devices and run potato hardware and expect it to work well :(

I'm french and if I understand well what you says, with the new Flysky Assistant the receiver is updated without plugging the bind plug on the receiver and without getting in the radio menu but just with PC, right?
I believe you still have to put the receiver in update mode
@@WTFRCCars I first tried without the bind plug and during the update the receiver was normally flashing. I turned Off/On the receiver and verified the update firmware number on the Flysky Assistant and the receiver was updated correctly.
So now I don't know if it's better to plug the bind plug on the receiver during the Flysky Assistant update....
If it works that way I'd say keep doing it I'm working on a few vids for assistant this week so I'll try to show the whole update process :)
@@WTFRCCars you can also try and confirm my way for the receiver update without connecting the binding plug.

What's the difference between "xxxSTD" and "xxxFCC" firmware? Thanks for all the FlySky education!
Standard run EU/uk legal transmitter power and you get good distance and good battery life, FCC ups the transmitter power to USA legal limit gives about 50 meters more distance but reduced battery life there not much difference between them.
Thanks! Figured it was the "Federal Communications Commission" standard. Surprised higher transmitter power is allowed. They usually poo poo everything. Cheers!
There is 100% a problem with the registration process. It may work for a few people but I've tried several email addresses and this software does not work properly. Here's to hoping I get lucky in a few days and it decides to start working...
There's no reason to even require a login in the first place.
It's not the software it's your ISP blocking port 21 on your router, tether your pc to your mobile and it will register 1st try with your email
Just purchased the Noble Pro. I noticed you have some bashers bound to it as well. Which receivers do you use for them? Looking to maintain avc. Haven't found any flysky receivers compatible with the Pro with a gyro for stability control.
None have gyro if you want a gyro just add one there way more sensitive and configurable than the unbuilt ones and can be controlled from the nb4 or pro :)

Nice. But: At 3:54 you have bound rx to NB4. Would not know how to bind a receiver to my NB4 without updating it first (!!!), because rx of elder firmware do not bind to my NB4 (with actual firmware). None of the about 10 receivers I bought last lear for my NB4 could bind without updating first.
So how does the new software help here?
You can update any receiver without the pc from the nb4 or pro itself

Only the "traditional" receivers (FGr4, FGr4s, FGR4p, FGr8B und FGr12B), not the "advanced ones", for example GMR.

I've done this and i am stuck at 17% with my NB4 for well over an hour now. Is my transmitter now toast?
It shouldn't take that long it's only minutes has the nb4 lost power or connection?

How long does the connecting to server normally take? Have sat at this screen for at least 20 to 30 mins now.
About 2 to 5 min normally

USA ISP's block and control most of your internet traffic a VPN may help as I'm guessing your ISP is blocking the connection to the Chinese server :(
7 months later and Im sitting here dealing with the same issue. Im just trying to update the firmware on my radio and should not be a 1 hour or more process. took 30 mins or more just to connect to the server. Then I tried to update my radio... Went to sleep for 2 hours and when I woke up the assistant was still at 0% downloaded.

Wrong usb cable or very old firmware on the transmitter so not compatible with assistant v3 maybe
I also can't receive the SMS code. I live in Japan. There may be something wrong with the server.
It works you have to make sure it's not being blocked by the email server or VPN or going to junk mail
Also try your mobile number instead of email :)

@WTF RC CARS I am have difficulty with the V3. It cannot read my NB4 n fgr4sv2. I try many ways mention here without success. My firmware is 2.0.85. Is there any other way to update?

I'd try to bind them 1st but if they won't bind it's a very easy process to update them I have vids on them all showing how to do them even the none flysky ones :)
The assistant is not reading the device information and all it does show is that it is an NB4 in the Model name. I've tried all 3 ports on my laptop but nothing helps to display any other info within the assistant. Tried different combos for connection steps but, nothing.
Edit: Ok, after a laptop shutdown then power up, it recognized my NB4. Man, now the issue that I'm looking help on is that the Assistant is not recognizing the Model I have set in the radio. Unplugging, replugging using different ports, using the same cable that it came with, of course the radio is in Firmware update mode to even get it to recognize the device, anyone have any thoughts or ideas of what might be going on?
What firmware is you nb4 on?
@@WTFRCCars I was able to update the nb4 to 2.0.93. It displays more info than it did when I was looking for help, but even after I updated it, it doesn't display the rf module or transmitter I'd, and the receiver info doesn't display info. The receiver was updated successfully and I rebound the receiver as well, just no info displays in the assistant about it.
The will be newer assistant version released later that should fix it for you :)
@@WTFRCCars but in the video you had uploaded, I noticed your receiver info was displayed. But, you were using a different receiver from what I recall and not sure that makes the different e here or not. I'm specifically dealing with using the fgr4s.
Do you have the receiver bound to the transmitter when you open the program
I think I have messed up I updated my nb4 and now I can not bind or update fgr4s
You need to update your receiver too just look on my nb4 receiver playlist I have then all on there :)

You have to connect the bind plug as I do in the vid then select update on the nb4 after you power up the receiver

Does this new software finally save the super annoying (!!! I hate it) problem of "Custom Main Menue"?
Actually I can export and import models when updating my NB4. But "Custom Main Menue" will not be ex/importet. I do not like the screen (order of sub menues) as it comes from Flysky at all, I want those menues I use most frequently on top. You can adjust this. This is quite a lot of work. You would have to do this for every model, but this is copied with "copy model", that is why I do have a blueprint with "my main menue" which I copy and use for every new model.
BUT: After exporting and importing models (and upgrade) the custom main menue is lost, it is again "Flysky stock". Since adjusting main menue is much more work than setting up a super simple 2-ch model, I normally set up all simple models again after update, much faster than setting the main menue again. Only for (few) complicated models I use ex- and import.
This is SUPER annoying.

OK, a lot of Flysky typical problems again, when registering:
It did NOT work with my gmx email, but it DID work with my gmail email.
SMS number seems not to be necessary.
Then you will have to put the code into the "SMS field".
Guess Flysky mixed up "SMS" and "verification code".
Still waiting for a Flysky device or app without bugs and flaws...
The registration works fine I have done it twice with email then select get sms then you get email with code and enter it in the SMS box and hit register ya done :)

SMS for me means "receive a SMS via cellphone"...
Flysky...how can they release an app with such errors???

It's email only and you can just set up an email use it to register then leave it
Not so much, it takes 10min to load if at all and once in it was a practice in frustration....deleted it. Maybe someday they can make it a useful program.
You won't get any future updates without it or be able to back up any memories on any of the flysky radios even the new 7ch one
This software doesn't work the sms takes longer to arrive than the time they give to log in
It works I've been using it for a good few years it's normally your isp blocking the port it needs to send out the email request but yeh it's slow and needs work :(

honestly, I absolutely love my noble plus and my noble but assistant makes it where I almost want to sell them and never buy another one of their products. It is absolutely the worst program ever takes 20 minutes or more to connect. It’s a horrible program they need and can do better.
New test version I have takes 8 seconds to log in so should be much better soon :)
This software is so slow and laggy, it should be set as the new meme, replacing Crysis from now.

so dam slow im about to scrap flyski, takes forever to get nowhere. I dont really want to spend my day off trying to update or model memory.

I still cant get model memory to work, wont let me save file says i dont have permission .
If the pc is saying you don't have permission it means to the location your trying to save it to so just choose another location
@@WTFRCCars been trying, no matter what file name i type in it wont let me. wouldnt be so frustrating if the program wasnt so slow. It takes so much time just for any simple action like typing a single letter.

Useless there’s no MacOS or Linux versions.
There's no Mac or Linux version of most software, it's just how it is unfortunately most home users run Windows

I work as an it engineer and trust me as much as apple would like everyone to think Mac's are hugely popular they make up a tiny amount of home pc's, there more popular for some editing work but are very limited with what you can actually use them for outside of that, as for Linux it's a hugely popular os unfortunately not for most home pc's flysky actually did a poll asking what os we are using and almost no votes for Linux or osx and that's why no versions for them it was only a few month back :)

I did it it then says not registered yet. Did you use just numbers, or spaces or dashes?
Just numbers but think it should work with email
If I use email it does nothing, if I use cell number I get a pop up that says “username error/not registered!” Maybe I’ll try again another time
I used a Gmail account and that worked
