The reason why the sound is weird, is because of a muffling device that cuts the decibels if the sound is too high.

I feel like he shouldn't be missing so many notes, I could be wrong though maybe it's harder than I'm perceiving it to be.
Grant Ward If you're not skilled at piano or keyboard, this is a very hard song, but a master like Matt can do it easily. Just keep in mind that he has to sing it at the same time.
I took the liberty of teaching myself this song among a few other muse songs and am able to play them without missing any notes. other muse songs include: Ruled by Secrecy and Butterflies and Hurricanes.
