One of the things I love from The Answer is the final message that the changes are part of life, maybe it doesn't change the gameplay too much, but I think this is a good DLC that show how the characters are trying to accept all the changes in their lives.🌸🌸🌸
The Answer, where hate towards it exists when convenient for most people. As someone who was introduced to P3 with this remake, I swear I have only heard hatred towards The Answer from the FES, but now suddenly it’s incredible? Definitely feel like the nostalgia boner is strong with this DLC
As someone who'd never played the OG answer, I loved this DLC. What made the dungeon crawling extra fun for me was that Metis was so fun to use. She felt like a mix of Shinji and journey Aigis, and was definitely the MVP of my playthrough. I can see how some people may not like the exesive dungeon crawling but as someone who's always preferred that over the social sim aspect, it was the perfect DLC for me.
I think my biggest problem after diving into this DLC, was how cheaply made Episode Aigis was. The thing that rubbed me the wrong way was in the Joker fight when he uses “Will of Rebellion”, they didn’t even bother changing the animation to something unique and just used the Buff Agility/Accuracy animation. And the game recognizes that since it’ll give Joker an Agility/Accuracy buff even though it wasn’t used lmao. I get that even in FES, the expansion was reusing a bunch of assets but I just expect there to be more changes to warrant the $35 cost. I can’t even be happy about the compendium being brought back because it was a featured that shouldn’t have even been dropped in the first place so why should I give brownie points to Atlus for that? Idk, I’m just a bit mixed. It’s nice that the difficult was kept intact, in Heartless at least. The rest of the other difficulties were still free as hell.
The did struggle bringing The Answer over in the first place, the making of this remake is kinda similar to how budgeted the original is. Really makes me wish they waited for a better time so that they could actually afford to do the full fledged game with everything intact, if that's even possible.
If it’s of any relevance, they apparently weren’t originally planning to release episode aigis, until proof of persona 3 reload’s success prompts them.
@@obikenooobi3905 if that’s the case, they flaw for that considering Episode Aigis was announced like a month after Reload came out and it looked like 85% completed. Just wish they took a bit longer to work out the quirks.

If you liked reloads dungeon crawling its amazing just be warned that you WILL get burnt out if you try to beat the dlc as fast as possible happened to my on my first night and hated it untill playing the following moring and rembering why i love p3r ccombat again if you have gamepass its free and if not you'll most likely get 25-30 hours out of the game depending on your difficulty. And wether you decide to do the optional boss (ill be attempting soon as i didn't know it was ng+) if you like sees as much as i do its a must play. Also please if you finish the game watch some important scenes in the fes revision as reload is tonned down in its emotional impact compared to fes! Great video i agree with a lot of points made!
Glad I got it for free, forgot how much I actually disliked Tartarus since what I remember from P3R or P4G are the social links and story. I'll push through since I do like the story but man are the dungeons a slog.
The expansion pass price would make sense if they added more costumes and BGM music. Like we are missing Costumes and Music from P3 Dancing as well as various stuff from Q 1/2, Arena, P5 Strikers/Tactica. Weird considering many of this stuff was DLC for P5Royal Luckily you can claim the expansion for free with a gamepass ultimate trial on Xbox which is way better than Tactica and Repaint Your Heart
I've seen several creators say they hate the new version of 3/31. Honestly I think you're all being a bit harsh on the song. I went back and listened to the old version thinking there would be drastic differences. TBH the original sounds just as goofy, I genuinely think the rose tinted goggles of nostalgia might be getting to you. 3/31 is unironically one of my favorite new tracks I was bummed it only played one time in the entire 25+ hour game. Also for how quickly the song came and went I have a hard time believing you found it that bad lmao. Sorry I just have to defend a track I like after hearing it be called "Audible Diarrhea"
I exaggerate a lot of things but I do genuinely dislike this song very much. It’s not like objectively a bad song, but in my opinion god I cannot stand it. I’ve tried to give it a shot multiple times by listening to it on my own time and no matter what I can’t bring myself to like it. I’m glad some people can enjoy it but man it’s just not for me
the thing I hate the most about "the answer" is that it's just dungeon after dungeon after dungeon. What makes these games great is the mix of social life and superhero stuff, but when you take out the social life, it gets boring real quick.
Personally, having played the original The Answer on PS2,Atlus did all they could and had to for The Answer to make it actually playable. The Compendium as well as Aigis having access to controllable party members and Fusion Spells does a lot as most of The Answer on PS2 was an endless grind cause I couldn't get a necessary Persona Ingredient I had to backtrack for for a certain skill. So it helps what is meant to be a relatively short epilogue be more palpable as the unnecessary padding due to poor gameplay design kept me from wanting to finish the gut wrenching campaign myself. And I played and bought every version of P3 minus Reload. I knew what to expect. I would still use a molded Fes to play The Journey if there was a Manual Skill Inheritance Mod as I miss some of the clubs and Fusion Spells and loved the way Base P3 and Fes did the Fusion Spells the best.
Saw the scene where the MC gets defeated, man what happened to this game's aesthetics... i guess one of the darkest and most haunting games isnt allowed to be dark and haunting when remade... how did they managed to make a nearly one to one remake yet still fumble the atmosphere and bleak tone out of all things... I get it times are different, but getting the darkness toned down really works against the game's themes and vibes
I put 35 hours into the dlc. Did everything possible aside from beating joker. Which I will do eventually. I loved it. More than the base game personally. But I also liked the original answer more than the base game of fes.
I think it's definitely worth the money considering how fun the gameplay is, as you alluded to. And the songs + narrative building from The Journey makes it hit that much harder. Honestly, if they hadn't re-used the same dungeon layouts for the Abyss of Time + done a better job of remixing some of the BGMs (3/31 as you pointed out), this DLC would be perfect as an expansion pass.
I really enjoyed the DLC. My only big issue was the lack of bosses. It's disappointing to wait until the end to have real boss fights. Outside of that I understand the reused assets etc. Just hard to ignore when other DLC like Xenoblade Future Redeemed is like a whole different game for example. Regardless, really enjoyed this.
I am playing this on heartless. Finally some decent challenges because the base game is too easy even in the merciless mode. Once you got Siegfried the game is basically a cakewalk though
I’m only a few hours in rn, but here are my following thoughts. So I’m like a massive FES Answer hater. Sure, it had its moments, but there was a lot of issues I personally had with it that I just can’t get behind. I actually liked that the Answer was pushing the combat mechanics to their absolute limit… the problem is FES combat was already not the best (do not tell me about the command menu, having direct party control is objectively just better in a gameplay sense) so when we take those mechanics and push them to the max it just made for a very tedious and obnoxious experience, especially because now there wasn’t the social life stuff to balance it out. The story, although had its moments (and believe me those moments I mention were fucking phenomenal) I felt could’ve been done miles better so the key arc didn’t feel as sprung up. Also the good moments were in between the obnoxious dungeon crawling, which lead to me writing off the Answer as unnecessary to the overall story for years. With episode Aigis though, I’m so far having a good time with it. I still think the story moments (at least where I’m at) are a little to spread out and they still don’t really feel like they’re building to anything, but P3R combat is light years better than FES so the mechanics being pushed to the limit is actually really enjoyable, especially if you’re playing on heartless.
Heartless is beautifully difficult, until siegfried happens. Still a lot of fun for the gameplay if the repetetive nature of the continuous dungeon generated contrnt isn't a dealbreaker for you, which I know it will be for a lot of people.
I think the aigis episode is good still what i don't like about it is aigis suddenly can use fusion spell for some reason which go against the Lore of persona 3 from the game which says the only reason protagonist Can use fusion spell is because the death inside the protagonist is boosting his wild card ability but for reload they suddenly make aigis Can do it as well and the reason is because the protagonist lend his wild card power to aigis (the prove is in the scene where Athena change to orpheus) the problem is it doesn't make sense because the reason protagonis can fusion spell is because he have death but aigis doesn't have death so even if she borrow the protagonist wild card it doesn't make sense for her to suddenly able to use fusion spell another thing that's i feel not enough is they actually tone down few scene like the end of yukari boss battle and as old player it make the game feel rush or not as deep as before what about you do you agree with me or disagree with me? Hope for your reply
Well considering I basically paid as much for the entire game as I would have to pay for the DLC (equivalent of around 42$ for the game), unless someone can confirm it's at least half as long as the game itself, the DLC probably isn't worth the current price. Mind you I haven't played the original P3, I pretty much got P3R because I tried it on game pass and enjoyed it a lot. I tried playing P4G a while back but it didn't really click with me then, maybe I should give it a 2nd try after I finish P3R.
It's a good dlc. But it's not a 35$ good type of dlc. It's too expensive which is maybe a little hypocritical for me to say when I bought it day one, but hey I'm crazy for this series.
It seems this expansion is getting mixed feelings. People either hate it or love it XD But hey, it’s free with gamepass so if you have the game there, you can always give it a shot!
I'd say Episode Aigis is definitely worth a playthrough if you're someone who enjoyed the dungeon crawling & combat of P3R (like myself). That said, definitely wait for a price drop as for $35 Episode Aigis is way too overpriced for what is essentially 20-30 hours of extra Tartarus content. To me, this is 100% Atlus putting the feelers out to see how this sort of paid expansion content works for Persona. That way they might not feel the need to do enhanced re-releases in the future, and instead opt to release DLCs for the new content.
🤔 for me I'm still playing the dlc, but I've been completely enjoying the game, I would tell people dont get the dlc if you're not a fan of dungeon crawling like in shin megami tensei v since it what you are going to be doing for the whole game, but I'll also if your a big fan of persona sure go all in since we know how altus price their dlcs, do it's just part of the course for them lol, but man the battle dont and the new opening has so much mean man well worth the price for just that alone.
still dont think this dlc seems worth it, I still think FES is better way to enjoy p3 if you dont mind old video game/ atlus bs, wish reload kept the weapon stuff from fes
