Still I think it's fair to say that for example Jimi Hendrix's death was more dramatic then let's say Michael Jackson's death because he had a long career with so much impact on music whereas Hendrix could have done so much more

I agree with most of your list but the list is about artists who where taken too soon, who where at the verge of a breakout or at the prime of their career. I disagree with Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston. Although they are now considered legends, they died at the end of their career not at their prime. They shouldn't be in this list because their potential was already realized.

compared to other artists, who lived a full and long life, yes he died WAY too soon. one of the greatest country artist of all time died in his 80's. MJ died at 51, which is middle aged in todays culture. also lets not forget he was one of the greatest pop singers EVER. to NOT put him on this list would be an insult
thelastspartanS117 For the list they were going off of peak of career. His peak was way before he died. Is it sad he died at 51? Yes. But everyone before him was younger and still rising up or at their peak still when they died.
MRMONKEY232 pretty sure freddie mercury was not at his peak nor that much younger than MJ. also several of these people killed themselves or ODed on drugs (MJ ODed but that was a mistake of prescriptions from his doctor) MJ's death was sudden, unexpected and all around tragic. more than enough reason to put him on this list

This list is one hell of a cheat. MJ was 50 when he passed, Freddie Mercury was 45. Lennon was 40. Sure that is relatively young compared to my Great Grandfather. Still, if you list those 2, you have to list Elvis who was only 42, Marvin Gaye 44 and John Denver 43. And sorry, no way do Ian Curtis and Jeff Buckley make the Top 10 or even Honorable mention when so many greats are ignored.

No offense to Ritchie Valens, but his death wasn't really voluntary. Ian Curtis was 23 when he hung himself. I definitely think all the other deaths on this list are sad, but Ian Curtis made it apparent in his lyrics and live performances that every second of his life was torture. His lyrics were a cry for help, and help never came.
