Sorry for the delay with this one guys. There was a bug in the system & my upload got stuck. All of this exciting drama can be followed live on my Instagram stories as I winge & complain about this kind of stuff: instagram.com/heatonthomas/ x x x x
Thomas Heaton you "placed" the dead branch in the water! Hahaha when the next group gets there and cant find a tree look out any nearby trees that are still attached to the ground. Thinking about the first shot was photoshopping the sign out an option?
I think this is the best video in the series so far with the best set of images. The light on the tops of the mountains added a touch of magic to the first shot, the bright trees against the dark backdrop worked great, and the dead tree with the mountains behind was really nice. I really liked the last shot, atmospheric and well worth the effort in composition!
oh Thomas it's so good to hear your excitement being in a place like that because I think it's just the essence of being a landscape photographer. Being moved by nature and and the beauty of this planet
Your enthusiasm for being out there and doing it is crazy infectious. Thank you for all you have done in 2018 to inspire us all in more ways that you can imagine. Keep the passion, ignore the noise. Heres to 2019.
In my opinion, this episode features some of the most astounding photography you've shared. I've watched it several times and I'm stunned by the beauty of each image. I hope a few of the photos appear on next year's calendar!
That last image is incredible dude, its really unique and something most people would not get if they were out there. The shallow depth of field, the mountain framing the tree, and the tree mimicking the peaks of the mountain. That's a real one..
This is your finest video yet, congratulations! The shots you took were incredible, and I especially appreciate you talking in detail about the filters you used, the exposure timing, aperture, etc., to capture the look you were going for.
Thomas, loved the trees, leaves and wall shot. Ben Horne must be smiling!! The last shot is tremendous. Your effort to fine the right tree and framing was well rewarded. I'm sure that we will see this shot again. Best, Bob
One of your best vlogs in a long time (in my opinion)....outstanding. The images were simple, profound and unique. I appreciate the learning/teaching aspect of how you were framing the shot. Well done sir....well done.
Certainly one of the best episodes Thomas. Loved all the images, yes as you say we might miss the simple ones searching for the bigger picture, the tree contrasting the black rock is my fav shot among the four. Love it!
I am a photography student at Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia, and your work and lifestyle really inspires me to learn to be happy with creating and the experience of creating. Really tough to learn how to appreciate it and not get frustrated, but you make it look so east!! Thank you Thomas!!!
Thomas, you are living one my dreams! Thank you for showing me Patagonia is everything I thought it would be. I hope you are having the time of you life. Gracias for sharing your adventures. Great photographs.
I'm glad you made your dream come true and had the opportunity to visit Torres del Paine. Looks like you're really enjoying it! All 4 images are great, but that last one is superb! Very moody!
I loved the long exposure with the branch. It’s crazy that in one video you took more amazing photos than I have in 10 years. It’s quickly becoming my dream to go to this workshop next time!
All the images are so incredible that it really looks like a dream location. My favorite was the 3rd images with the third branch leading to the mountains
i must say..i've been trying my hand at this now for a short period of time, picking up tidbits of info and procedure. i've seen photos done by a bunch of photographers and i must say that Tom is definitely one of the best !...Kudos Tom !
The image of the tree with the mountains in the background is one of my favorite you have captured and documented so far! The mood and composition connect so well Thomas!!!
Now Thomas, when you spoke of the image where there was a sign and a old wooden fence,I thought the weathered look of the fence would be great as part of the image. Now had it been a new wall I would say no way. Love your art and how you express yourself. Your funny and and intelligent for sure. Safe travels to you.
I've already seen most of these spots in video of Polish guy, who does pretty the same stuff, but what you showed here is simply... outstanding! Fantastic shots! It built in me some kind of need, a feeling that I just have to take my gear and go there at least once in the lifetime to capture such moments myself. Thanks for inspiration!
Am really thankful for sharing your videos, like always you keep inspiring me and reminding me to got out and take photos and stop complaining. And the most thing that I got today from your video never stop dreaming . Thank again Thomas
It seems like you enjoy what your are doing. Can not imagine why. It‘s just an unreal, beautiful landscape to photograph with a few great photographers. 😚
Very solid work as always! I like the variety of the photos in this video -- a great mix of grand landscape, intimate landscape, and also somewhat in between. I appreciate the bit in the last photo about finding that exact composition where the branches didn't reach into the sky. I find myself doing similar things, and just like you, an inch or two to the right or left will often times make or break a composition. It can be the difference between loving a shot, and wishing you had noticed those details in the field. That shows the power of observation, and staying very much in the moment when setting up a composition.
What a wonderful episode, one of the best ever! I'm not afraid of saying you are becoming one of the best landscape photographers in activity. All those shots are magnificent. What a great location, I have to go there next time I visit Patagonia. Greetings from Brazil.
Great as usual! An idea perhaps for a new blog once you're back home and settled - a vlog on which photographers YOU follow on UA-cam and Instagram [and on any other social media sites you often find yourself]. In the late October, I'm flying from Boston to spend eight solo nites in the Lake District, based in Keswick. Can't wait!
What an absolutely breathtaking place . Loved this video ❤️😍 Thomas.I always look forward to your videos popping up in my notification. Your artistic eye combined with your amazing photography skills produce some of the most stunning images I have ever seen .I hope you never close your channel 🤗
Talking of dreams, your videos are always a dream to watch! I love watching them I always feel so inspired! I’m probably not going to shoot at some of these amazing places you visit so it’s at least nice to see them through your videos! Amazing work Thomas! Good job! 👍🏼
By far my favorite youtuber and photographer! Your videos are so amazing to watch and make me want to get out and shoot more! And all your attention to detail in your photographs is amazing!
Talk about a dream location!! Images 1,3 and 4 became my favorite images I've ever seen from you! Which is saying something because everything you take is gorgeous. But those three stole the whole podium by a huge margin. Pretty jealous of you right now dude!
Great video, so enjoyable. Especially liked how you were explaining your reasoning to one of the group participants and helped her get the shot. Well done!
This is so beautiful and inspirational. I love the fact that your channel is more on quality than quantity. And you wonderfully share the composition details. God bless and greetings from India
Love the river/mountains shot, and that tree shot looks not dislike one from Mr Ben Horn, nice one Thomas. Great 3rd shot, but for me you saved the best till last just awesome Thomas.
Awesome video, Thomas! I used to live in Santiago but never got down as far as Torres del Paine. Hope there are many more videos to come from this trip.
As per normal you can see why your so successful. You said at the start about dreams. These things are only dreams for so many. I am suffering with a little depression at the moment due to never being satisfied with anything I do no matter how much money I spend on kit and other stuff I am not living and fulfilling my dreams. I see so many videos and yours are top of the list and they upset me more and more due to the amount of places you get to see and travels BvS as well what an amazingly lucky but talented person. You two are both amazing on one hand but totally gut wrenching in the other.
Brilliant episode! Those pictures are some of the best I've seen ( in my opinion lol ) its pictures like that that inspire me to get out and shoot... class!
The color of the Autumn leaves contrasting the black rock was a great image. I liked how you found a solution to the problem to the superfluous things that detracted from the image. I do have to admit I might have headed to the icebergs myself.
We really loved the vid Thomas. We think the last two shots of the vids are pretty awesome - with the dead log and the branching out tree against the mountains. Lovely compositions.
Now I know where the team from Bethesda got their inspiration for Skyrim from :p Absolutely beautiful. Great video, as always! Watching your videos is so calming sometimes, your aura and the environment you're in sometimes are just relaxed and I really love that.
Haha saw this on IG and loved the separation of the tree against the mountain... and then to see you talk about how hard you worked to get that - glad it showed! :)

Tell me you´re gonna sell does !!!! they are BEAUTIFUL
Your Vlogs are always well worth the wait. I haven't been disappointed yet. Thanks for sharing!
Thomas Heaton "absolutely gorgeous" you say that often enough that you should put it on a t-shirt 😂
Absolutely stunning. Well worth the wait.
Thomas Heaton you "placed" the dead branch in the water! Hahaha when the next group gets there and cant find a tree look out any nearby trees that are still attached to the ground. Thinking about the first shot was photoshopping the sign out an option?
You honestly make photography look so easy, you inspire so many people to look for compositions now instead of shooting the ordinary, thank you
That last shot... Goosebumps and a weepy eye. Beautiful.
I think this is the best video in the series so far with the best set of images. The light on the tops of the mountains added a touch of magic to the first shot, the bright trees against the dark backdrop worked great, and the dead tree with the mountains behind was really nice. Mads Peter Iversen So true. That tree was something special eh.

Absolutely addicted to the adventurous narrative you set before every shot. Keep doing what you love
Persistence pays off...the last image was stunning...love the moody weather!
That last image is incredible dude, its really unique and something most people would not get if they were out there. The shallow depth of field, the mountain framing the tree, and the tree mimicking the peaks of the mountain. That's a real one..
3 absolutely beautiful shots. The last one is treeeemendous. Thank you for your inspiration Tom.
That last shot with the dead tree is just something else! Been a long time since I've seen an image so powerful!
This is your finest video yet, congratulations! The shots you took were incredible, and I especially appreciate you talking in detail about the filters you used, the exposure timing, aperture, etc., to capture the look you were going for.

One of your best vlogs in a long time (in my opinion)....outstanding. The images were simple, profound and unique. I appreciate the learning/teaching aspect of how you were framing the shot. Well done sir....well done.
One of the very best in so many ways, helped by an incredible location.Us mortals can only dream..thank you
Certainly one of the best episodes Thomas. Loved all the images, yes as you say we might miss the simple ones searching for the bigger picture, the tree contrasting the black rock is my fav shot among the four. Love it!

Wow, that final shot...blew me away.
I loved the long exposure with the branch. It’s crazy that in one video you took more amazing photos than I have in 10 years. It’s quickly becoming my dream to go to this workshop next time!
The last image of the tree and the two mountain peaks is a very good composition indeed it leads the eye to them.
All the images are so incredible that it really looks like a dream location. My favorite was the 3rd images with the third branch leading to the mountains
Thank you very much for sharing... Always a treat
i must say..i've been trying my hand at this now for a short period of time, picking up tidbits of info and procedure. i've seen photos done by a bunch of photographers and i must say that Tom is definitely one of the best !...Kudos Tom !

Amazing as always. Love seeing the steps you take for each image and how you think though the framing.
The last shot is tops. That is the perfect tree for that composition! Love it
Simply incredible! That last one especially. What beauty. And the histogram in the first image, mimicking the mountain. I thought that was funny 😀

Great video and awesome images as always, loved following your latest adventure! Patagonia is now firmly on my bucket list 😊
Beautiful, beautiful lone tree. Congrats.

Probably some of the most interesting and beautiful images I've ever seen on youtube, Brill!
