Im only 19, but you make me re-live these classic jams, I love it. I grew up listening to Ozzy, Van Halen, The Beatles, ZZ Top and Hendrix, and the videos just take me back to jamming in my car seat when I was a kid haha. Thank you
@sabriana0401 Thanks for watching. Well subscribe and watch my videos and use them as tutorials in learning drums, you'll pick up a lot. It could only help, when I first started playing, videos weren't available, so you're at an advantage.
I actually tried to get the guitar solo and keyboard solo bits right, I wonder if you might take the time to check? (I like your version, too, though) Ta!
Yes, I checked out your cover and you played those sections like the record. You are a talented drummer for someone who hasn't played long, you certainly have the gift for drumming. Thanks for checking out my cover.
Wow, thank you for watching it and for your kind comments. That's good hear because there are 2 sections of this song that I don't play like I should have. One is the bridge and the other the intro to the instrumental section. Thanks again.
@dickijim1 Thanks, well you're welcome. I like to hear that my videos serve others in learning these songs. Just be sure to learn how Alex played the intro to the solo section - I faked it.
U are properly the best all around drummer I have seen on you tube and I watch hundreds of videos .I just started playing again after 25 years and I'm picking up so much from watching u thanks again your awsome
Thanks. How would you know I don't play & own acoustic drums? Been play them for about 50 and I own 2 acoustic kits, but have access to 3 at church that I play on Sundays.
@DrummerGrrrl Thanks for checking this out and some of my other videos. No offense taken, you're very courteous - I don't hear what your hearing, there aren't any room mics, everything is going direct so there is no way for the sound of sticks hitting rubber to be picked up in the recording. You may be hearing something to do with effects processing and your hearing is most likely better than mine. Thanks again for checking out my videos, I'm very appreciative.
@grandpajoe6191 Thanks a lot. Are you the person that illustrates those videos on your channel? That "RSA Animate - Drive: The surprising truth about what motivates us" was very compelling.
@rhythmantic Thanks Sal. Ive got it now. I find it crazy trying to figure our where the beat picks up at the beginning on the keys, but watching you play and counting the way you described, im comfortable to get it now. thanks again for the quick reply.
Aw that's Ok, nobody got hurt :D. I'm not particularly fond of my performance, I could've learned Alex's parts better. This is an early cover and I was still learning about audio mixing and all that stuff. Thanks for watching and may I say you have a good heart and may God bless it.
YES THE BEST!!! I hadn't seen this one yet. Whenever I want to be inspired, I'll check out your videos and they usually do the trick. This one is TIGHT! Thanks man. :)
@xtremist85 It's in 4/4, and the opening hits are of 1/8th note value and are played on: and One and Two. The opening fill: and-uh One and-uh-Two and-uh-Three-and-Four, (something like that). I apologize, but this is so much easier to explain by writing it out in drum set notation that trying to write here.
@rhythmantic Thanks for watching my covers and for your compliments. Your strokes are very reminiscent of jazz-fusion players. Nice to meet excellent drummers like you in you tube.
Awesome stuff, especially the fills. I like how you tune your set to the different songs. Makes it sound so much more like the original. The fills right after 2:30 were magical! Looked like a lot of fun
Dude, you're good and fun to watch!!! Just got my first drum set - EVER - yesterday. I'm 44 and I'm learning "Jump" by watching you! Thanks man! Lots of energy from watching you play. Very clean, great rhythm! Thanks!
정말 멋집니다.노래도 당시 워낙 좋아했던 팝송이었는데 드럼커버로 들으니 정말 새로운감동입니다 ^^ Really nice. Liked Because of its pop songs was a time to hear the drum cover is really a new impression ^ ^
I am still looking at many of your covers since subscribing and they are great for helping me. The only thing with this one - Jump - is that i dont know how the timing goes at the beginning with the cymbals and fill. How do you count this?
@poorcaro Thanks. I record audio & video direct to the camcorder's hard drive. I'm usually triggering drum software, i.e., Addictive Drums, Superior Drummer in Logic Pro (I'll do pre production mixing my drum track with the song track) then with the output from the Apogee Ensemble firewire audio interface going to the camera. I then upload the video file from the camera into iMovie and make my edits. Or output from TD-20 going to camcorder. Hope that helps.
@therailwizard1994 I'll add it to the list, can't say when I'll get to it though. For now, I think the bass drum is played very simple: on the 1 and 3 of the measure. So if you're counting: 1 - 2 - 3 - 4, it lands on the 1 & 3, with an occasional 1/8 note thrown in on the "and" of 4, so it'd be: 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 and - 1, etc. Hope that helps. Keep drumming.
@BadRonald1 The drum lick at the end is one of Tony Williams' licks that Alex uses (it's on the record) You can't say much about the way I played it because?
Just trying to learn this with my covers band. Struggling with the pre chorus and solos to figure out the pattern and getting the timing right. This video helped a lot. awesome.
@rockNrollmobster Hey thanks. That instrumental section reminds me of a jazz-fursion part and so I played it like one. I saw your cover, you play very well, very solid playing. And your audio mixes are very good. I liked your cover of Roxanne too.
The song has a quite a more complex bridge than I ever dreamed. Thanks a lot. Ever think of doing a gonzo drum cover of somebody like Keith Moon? I imagine that the drums for the last part of "My Generation" aren't noted too well anywere.
it`s crazy very good cover I like it.......j`aime vraiment ce que tu fais tes cover sont tres bien monté...... the sound is realy good you can hear the drum and the song.......... bravo j`aime......
@sbbinahee Thanks Paul, didn't know you like this kind of music. I should have taken the time to play the intro to the instrumental correctly, oh well, that's how goes. Thanks again for stopping by..
I have a double bass pedal. I'm too lazy to learn that intro part, which by the way, Alex overdubbed a 2nd part. Check out Gallupi1965 channel, Domenic Nardone, who did a fine job of it.
Wow. That was awesome! I also did a drum cover of Jump with acoustic drums but your improv in the ad lib part is much more fluid than the way I played it.
I made the kit. I could give you the settings file (you would download it) and you may not have all the kit pieces because it's hodge podge of pieces from differing ADpaks, such as ADpak-Retro, ADpak-Jazz and the host AD. Do you want it?
@pekasful Thanks so much. It has something to do with how many subscribers one has, I only have 367 and not all of them watch everything I do. The You Tube search mechanism is a mystery to me as I've typed in the exact name of any of my videos and it didn't show up.
Wow, i´m going to talk in english for your easy reading, well, thanks for that good covers!, you are my inspiration, that songs are my favorites, and you drums so well man, i like the drums very much and you use it so fine, that makes me feel happy, thanks for your videos man, i´ll keep wathcing, greetings from Mexico!
@FinalFreedomEclipse Actually it is a real kit, I'm triggering samples of an acoustic kit, as opposed to programmed modeled sounds that are in the V-Drum module.
Im only 19, but you make me re-live these classic jams, I love it. I grew up listening to Ozzy, Van Halen, The Beatles, ZZ Top and Hendrix, and the videos just take me back to jamming in my car seat when I was a kid haha. Thank you

Yes, I checked out your cover and you played those sections like the record. You are a talented drummer for someone who hasn't played long, you certainly have the gift for drumming. Thanks for checking out my cover.
@zdarelight1 Thanks, I've played in many bands, but none them famous. Thanks for watching, appreciate it.
Wow, thank you for watching it and for your kind comments. That's good hear because there are 2 sections of this song that I don't play like I should have. One is the bridge and the other the intro to the instrumental section. Thanks again.
i play guitar but i always loooooooove to see drum covers and make me want to do it myself! i really like this!!
@dickijim1 Thanks, well you're welcome. I like to hear that my videos serve others in learning these songs. Just be sure to learn how Alex played the intro to the solo section - I faked it.
Another great cover, nailed the AVH sound and his signature changes and fills🤙
@darksymphonybass Well that's some really classic great music to grow up with. Thanks for watching.
Always loved the song and it's a treat to watch you play on it!
Yea, not great for reasons I cited in the description, but it will do as an interpretation.
You make it look simple. Great technique. Thanks for sharing it.
Great interpretation of this fun song!!! You cannot imagine how much your covers are teaching me. Keep up the good job!
Well, you've done it again. If I want to learn a song, I just call Sal. Thank you so much. Your mechanics are flawless.
Ray Kanter Thank you Ray. Just so you know, this is more of an interpretive cover than what Alex played.
Always loved this song and what a treat to watch you play over the original.....superb man!
@DrummerGrrrl Thanks for checking this out and some of my other videos. No offense taken, you're very courteous - I don't hear what your hearing, there aren't any room mics, everything is going direct so there is no way for the sound of sticks hitting rubber to be picked up in the recording. You make it look so effortless. I have been watching your videos for like an hour now. I have subscribed.
@grandpajoe6191 Thanks a lot. Are you the person that illustrates those videos on your channel? That "RSA Animate - Drive: The surprising truth about what motivates us" was very compelling.
@BBB10301 Thanks for stopping by and checking it out. Good to see this video wasn't blocked in your country, as many of my cover videos are.
@TheJoselnunez It is once you know how and have been doing it for awhile. Please subscribe & keep watching.
Perfect song choice I love your drum channel rhythmantic. That’s a fantastic cover well played man. Subscribed 👍🤘🥁
Thanks so much. Glad to learn that my covers serve other drummers like yourself.
Gracias! You are very kind to share your comments and encouragement. I appreciate you watching my videos. Greetings from up the road, California.
Excellent! Watching you drum is always a Master Class!
Debbie Augustt-Moffatt Thanks for checking it out.
@rhythmantic Thanks Sal. Ive got it now. I find it crazy trying to figure our where the beat picks up at the beginning on the keys, but watching you play and counting the way you described, im comfortable to get it now. thanks again for the quick reply.
Well thanks, appreciate it, especially from a fellow musician. Well guitar is my favorite instrument and I enjoy watching guitar players.
Thanks man. :)
So much better job than i did..... Congratulations !! The best Jump cover i´ve seen.
@wqerz Danke! So you actually got to view this in Germany? Unreal, as most of my covers are blocked in your country.
Very good! I need to dust off my kit and start playing again. You make it look so fun!
I am Italian but I can tell you're really good I've never seen a drummer like you
Ahh! I've been waiting for a good cover of this song for really long. Thanks, man!
Which "note" are you referring to?
I like how you keep everything simple... professionally :)
SO clean good job ... guitarist myself but love to watch drum covers ! especially GOOD ones : )

@studio7tahiti Thanks, good to hear from Tahiti, I've been there and Morea and Bora Bora.
@rhythmantic Thanks for watching my covers and for your compliments. Your strokes are very reminiscent of jazz-fusion players. Nice to meet excellent drummers like you in you tube.

Thanks for your encouraging comments, and glad to know that my cover helped you. Keep drumming! I picked up the guitar at 45 and am glad I did.
Thank you, appreciate it. I hope to visit the Netherlands sooon.

It is so long time I did not hear this song ...

@BadRonald1 The drum lick at the end is one of Tony Williams' licks that Alex uses (it's on the record) You can't say much about the way I played it because?
@cridrumzzu Very good, glad it helped and thanks for watching.
@TheMrTezzer Thanks dude, appreciate you stopping by and checking it out.
Just trying to learn this with my covers band. Struggling with the pre chorus and solos to figure out the pattern and getting the timing right. This video helped a lot. awesome.
I'm glad it helped, but keep in mind I, regrettably, didn't play the pre chorus like Alex played it.
@rockNrollmobster Hey thanks. That instrumental section reminds me of a jazz-fursion part and so I played it like one. I saw your cover, you play very well, very solid playing. And your audio mixes are very good. I liked your cover of Roxanne too.
I tried but didn't find a cover of Jump on your channel.
@rhythmantic hey if i cant figure out when it changes will it hurt if i just not wrry about it and keep the beat going and do the rolls and stuff well
Thanks so much, I appreciate the critique.
Very nice! You seem to enjoy playing this one!
excellent !!!!
Awesome cover!! I like this tune.
Great play! I have a TD-12 set to and wonder how you record with picture and sound? I hope you answer. Keep on drumming:)
Great song and another great cover,
The song has a quite a more complex bridge than I ever dreamed. Thanks a lot. Ever think of doing a gonzo drum cover of somebody like Keith Moon? I imagine that the drums for the last part of "My Generation" aren't noted too well anywere.
Awesome!! Alex Van Helen is my favorite drummer.
Thank you. Well it is, once you know how and have been doing it for awhile. I appreciate you checking out the cover.

@sbbinahee Thanks Paul, didn't know you like this kind of music. I should have taken the time to play the intro to the instrumental correctly, oh well, that's how goes. Thanks again for stopping by..

@pekasful Thanks so much. It has something to do with how many subscribers one has, I only have 367 and not all of them watch everything I do. The You Tube search mechanism is a mystery to me as I've typed in the exact name of any of my videos and it didn't show up.
Wow! Just plain good fun!! Ha ha! I was cranking your video at work (I have my own office).
Thanks commander, glad you can view this video in Deutschland where most of my covers are blocked.

@supercava Hey thanks much, I appreciate you stopping by and checking it out.
@FinalFreedomEclipse Actually it is a real kit, I'm triggering samples of an acoustic kit, as opposed to programmed modeled sounds that are in the V-Drum module.
@MRmesmetin Thanks. I've played in literally hundreds of bands. These days I play mainly in church, and with a jazz band.
Gracias! Si, I want to cover Don't Forget About Me, hopefully soon.
Really liked this... I have just got a similar kit!
Well thanks for sharing that, it's good to know my videos inspire others to drum.
Excellent!!
