Norm's Burt Reynolds is one of the best celebrity impressions ever.
Which is good, because the other two contestant's impressions were fucking terrible.

Burt is one of the smartest and most resilient celebrity guest on Jeopardy. Here he is with a broken buzzer, Alex refuses to help, and so he fixes the buzzer on his own.

The "ASIAAAAA" sound effect is actually a tribute to the old SNL sketch "Quiz Masters" from 1986, where the correct answer to one of the questions, read twice by Phil Hartman in the same tone of voice, was "Asiaaaa"

Followed by the name this tv show by its theme, which was Batman and Tom Cruise guessed MASH. Then Sean Connery answered After MASH

Norm was the one who originally came up with the idea to parody Celebrity Jeopardy, without him we wouldn't have one of the funniest reoccurring sketches on SNL. RIP, Turd Ferguson!
There's more to this story. Norm publicly said he got the idea from an SCTV skit back in the day. Turns out Eugene Levy had come up with that original skit. Rather than borrow it, Norm had enough respect to call Levy and ask permission to use. Levy, to his credit, said yeah, go for it.

The audio daily double that loudly proclaims it's own answer while travolta smokes and looks genuinely perplexed may be the actual funniest thing I've ever seen, followed closely by "somebody who can't feel when they're cold"

It's different for the cast members--they do impersonations for a living...for many of the hosts, this is the only chance they will ever have to show off their mimicry skills.

These Celebrity Jeopardy skits are some of my family's favorites. Norm did a great job acting like Burt Reyonolds and he played off of Will Ferrell so well. RIP Norm. We also loved the Sean COnnery ones

I've watched all of celebrity jeopardy last night and shortly afterwards, I found out that Norm Macdonald passed away. Well, I laughed so much at Norm's character of Burt Reynolds and then cried upon hearing of his passing.
RIP Norm MacDonald 😰 and thank you for making us laugh through the years

@Lukas Stratigis Well, that was from another Celebrity Jeopardy sketch which isn't on UA-cam (I think it's the second ever one of these), which has Darrell Hammond as Phil Donahue (who goes into lengthy monologues), Norm Macdonald as Turd "Burt Reynolds" Ferguson and that week's guest host John Goodman as Marlon Brando (who removes his trousers during one answer for some reason).
