The differences between uber vs lyft vary tremendously depending on market. In my area (Tampa Bay FL), I drive 99% on uber, 1% on lyft. Plenty of pings on lyft, but lyft pay offers run 25-30% less than uber.

For many drivers based in Boston/MA that would be a round trip for $46 because they can't pick up fares in NH without the proper authorization. A newbie will see the high dollar amount and take it, but they would be driving back empty.
All the big markets are driver over-saturated. This past 6 months has seen a huge influx of drivers on fraudulent accounts. The gig-companies aren't interested an actually doing anything about it because these drivers are taking all the $2-$3 trips.

No, they won't deactivate you for a low acceptance rate nor high cancelation rate. My acceptance rate right now is 5% and I've had a cancelation as high as 15%.
Glad you asked the question. No, they won't deactivate you for low AR (acceptance rate). But they will "threaten" to deactivate you. It's a scare tactic they use to get you to accept all of their "garbage" low fares. Newbies are susceptible to this scare tactic. Keep watching videos like this and learn from veteran drivers.

You may receive notifications if your cancellation rate is higher than the city maximum, after which you may not be able to go online with the Uber partner app for a short period of time. If your cancellation rate continues to exceed the maximum limit, your Uber partner account may be deactivated after multiple notifications."

It's true also here in SoCal. According to the customers the lyft rides are cheaper than Uber.
