In this video, 1A Auto shows you how to access and clean your throttle body. This video is applicable to the 96 GMC Sierra K1500 V8 5.7L

Might want to change the title to 1996 to 2000 because 95 and Older have throttlebody injection and not multi port

My 97 silverado started surging...verry little tho. I was told by a mechanic it could be that I need a tune up or possibly clean out the carburetor. I've done tune up myself not long ago. Any advice? It will come in handy...thanks.
What are we suppose to do about getting and changing the upper trottle body gasket on these models of the 5.7? I can't find a gasket, mind is leaking and won't pass emissions because it's leaking air. Any help for this issue? Thanks

Was hoping to see the bar holding the throttle plate entirely removed and cleaned. I have the larger 7.4l tbi with the 2 injectors in the mouth of it and have a sticky throttle. Have rebuilt the tbi, replaced the injectors, the cables and the plastic fulcrum plate in the floorboard but am still having the same problem. Only thing i can figure that's left is the bar holding the throttle plates in the mouth of the tbi has some interference where it passes through the throttle body in each end but don't know how to disassemble it without fear of messing something up; such as the connection to one of the sensors.
What's the thread pitch on that thumb screw lost mine need something to hold the hat on
I drop a small plastic inside intake while removing the throttle ..what should I do?

my 1998 gmc over idles when shifting (manual Tranny) is this a tps or throttle body problem

What’s considered a normal idle RPM on this engine ?
500-600
No mention of the gasket on the top hat that constantly sucks air altering the IAC.... no way to change gasket
if this is dirty can it Rob the vehicle of power?

Are 5.7 and 4.3 throttle bodies the same?

Rebuild Manual says: " Throttle Body Stud 9 N·m 80 lb in "

You didn't talk How to reprogram at the After cleaning It will idle high
If req'd on a TB cleaning, pop the negative cable off the batt' for about 10 min. , then hook it back up. And then go for a "relearn the pcm cruise" .
I find doing a relearn' after 8pm when traffic is thinner or almost non-existent is a perfect time . A combo of stop'go route and highway route.
