Just discovered this show and enjoying it immensely. Not just her singing . . . Natalie had such a stage presence too. I'd heard her radio hits in the 70's, but it was the Unforgettable album that made me really take notice. And in 1992 I got to see her perform on the Unforgettable tour at the Orpheum in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I'd been to A LOT of concerts by that time, but this one was so different. The set looked like something from a 1950's or early 60's TV performance. Simple. Elegant. Intimate. A couple of columns on stage. And a full orchestra. It was like witnessing the TV show, except that it was in color, and in live stereo. I remember at the time thinking "I just can't hear music like this performed live and with a full orchestra anymore." Not going to use a pun here, but to this day it was the most memorable and enjoyable concert in my life. The Unforgettable tour is on UA-cam, and definitely worth a look. So here's my Natalie story . . . fast forward to about 2011. I was living in SE Asia then. I was in Manila, Philippines, getting a flight back to Bangkok Thailand. David Foster had just played Manila the night before, on his "Hit Man Returns" tour. Next stop was Bangkok. The thought had occurred to me that some of those people might be on my THAI Airways flight to Bangkok. Natalie was on that tour, along with The Four Tenors, Reuben Stoddard, and Peter Cetera. I saw all of them at the Manila airport. I had lounge privileges, and while waiting for the flight, among some of the others, Natalie walked in. She went off towards a corner and sat down alone. I wanted to go over and simply tell her how special that performance was to me on the Unforgettable tour. But seeing her sitting alone, I just decided to let it pass and respect her privacy. And to this day, I wonder sometimes if I did the right thing? I did see the Foster performance in Bangkok the next night. Natalie came out and performed two or three songs. It too was a great show, for seeing all the performers. And the last time I saw Natalie.
She sung that thing didn't she?!! But Natalie Cole was ALWAYS awesome at covers just like Fantasia. Those two are my favorite "tribute" singers of all time!!! Neither one is going to disappoint.
I met Natalie Cole at the Hollywood Bowl backstage and shared with her a tender moment. She was sickly but I still gave her a big hug and told her how important and valued she is. She was very pleasant! 😊 And I told her my name is Joey and sang a bit of it in my ear! Small private concert with a class act! Love this lady!
Natalie Cole's range was ridiculous. She retained her BELTING range throughout her entire career....I think it may have even gotten a little HIGHER over the years.
This concert video is amazing and thanks to whomever shared this with world. Natalie was wonderful and left us too soon. Love the tribute. Her seventies hits will last forever. Rest on Natalie.
They ate those notes up and sang their hearts and voices out! This is how a live show is supposed to be done! I especially loved the tributes to other singers. That was beautiful! What a concert with Gladys Knight being next? !!!!! Doesn’t get much better than this. Bravo and rest In power our Queen and I hope you are soloist every first Sunday up there in heaven with Whitney and Aretha!! Y’all showing out up there xoxo
Wonderful show. She does look sick, and still she always gave the world her talent and beautiful singing voice. It must have been tough to be the daughter of Nat KING Cole... RIP. I will always love you, Natalie!!!! Thank you!!!
I remember her last concert in Chicago! She was on her way out and she still gave us a run for our money! She did the damn fool here too! May you continue to "Sing your face off through out the Universe!" You are so missed!
In my 25 years of seeing Natalie, I NEVER saw her perform "Joey". I first saw her in 1985 and it took 19 years for me to hear her sing "La Costa". I was so happy to see this full concert footage and to hear her sing "Joey". Thank you so much for uploading. If anyone has her 1998 concert at the House of Blues in LA, please upload it. The HOB doesn't exist anymore on Sunset Blvd but this was another standout concert where she sang " Lucy In the sky with diamonds" and " Catchin Hell". Once again, thanks for sharing.
This was amazing. I don't usually watch a whole concert on UA-cam but I did this one. I have loved Miss Cole every since This will Be came out. I had to go see her in concert at the Indiana Black Expo in about 78-79. She sung her heart out then just like here. The only difference was she was young and healthy and could move around more easily. I do miss her and so many I grew up with.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Okay now, a follow up to my previous comment. I was at Lincoln Center Alice Tully (sp?) Avery Fischer Hall in NYC. The last concert of the 17 I've seen Natalie perform (one being July 31, 1999 at Trump's Taj Mahal Casino in Atlantic City NJ where I met Miss Natalie backstage...having said to my Mother long distance on a big-a**ed cell phone..."Mommy, I can die a Happy Man, I'm going to meet Natalie backstage"). At Lincoln Center, 3rd row from the last seat in the house. (It has been affectionately known as "______ Heaven" ((fill in the blank)) Natalie opened with LET'S FACE THE MUSIC AND DANCE. As she was with the introductions I yelled out "JOEY"...and she replied, "Aw, You're an 'Old fan'). Check out what she said about the show in San Diego, the night before The Greek.
I mean this with all due respect...ALL DUE RESPECT...Natalie Cole looks like Nat King Cole in drag!!! She looks JUST like her father. That's what's up!

She sung that thing didn't she?!! But Natalie Cole was ALWAYS awesome at covers just like Fantasia. Those two are my favorite "tribute" singers of all time!!! Neither one is going to disappoint.

Natalie Cole's range was ridiculous. She retained her BELTING range throughout her entire career....I think it may have even gotten a little HIGHER over the years.
