This is top notch entertainment! 3 of the best performers. But Liza and Sammy, wow! How I would have loved to be there. I was born in 1988 but my Papa J played the VHS of this on repeat growing up. I truly love him for that.
Mesmerizing to listen and watch. Liza in her ab-so-lute element. We will never see the likes of them again. Consider what passes as popular music today?
This certainly brought back memories… I first met Liza when we were both in our teens in a private school co-ed dorm… girls on one side boys on the other. We became close buddies. I recall meeting her father. I can’t remember if Judy was around. Liza said one day I’m going to be a big star! We reconnected years later on the set of the film Lucky Lady… she didn’t quite recognize me until I presented her with some brownie camera snap shots of us on the school lawn…what a fun moment that was. I was so impressed with her work ethic. She was a total trooper not a diva. Again many years later I was at Harrahs Hotel in Lake Tahoe where she was performing. I went to see the show unbeknownst to her. After I wrote a message to be given to her. She immediately called me an invited me to the show the next evening up close & personal… fabulous… after the show we spent a lovely evening reminiscing and running around in the Casino like two kids on holiday… Liza with a Z is everything she dreamed to be despite the the rocky road… she survived where her mom didn’t… What an incredible legacy dear Liza has created… Absolutely love her…❤️
Do you remember guys? When we young people used to listen to rock and pop , our icons were rebel singers…and aged people listened to professional, elegant and good manners performers? Their generation always were wise and reassure us that the world would have never worsened because a big awful global world had taught everyone that wars are stupid? And we believed them? And then they started to pass away and we are now those who should reassure young people that everything will be alright, but we still listen to our rebel performers and global wars are now threatening the world again. And our young people suffer of any possible psychological fragilities while we claim the right to wear clothes like 20 year old guys at 60 or 70 because we can’t figure out how time has passed so quickly….I think it’ll take a long time to find a balance again…
We had our problems . . but these were better, kinder and more fun times. I was born in 1963 and grew up with all this including the Beatles, Elvis, the Rolling Stones etc . We had very little in the way of material things but boy . . What amazing memories.
I keep reading and hearing about how bad times are now, and how much kinder and better times used to be. I really don't get it, and I'm a senior. No, I don't mean high school.
@dg1006 Sammy was a sweet guy.. but he was more of a nightclub entertainer... he had great energy and style but let's face it... Frank and Liza were "real singers" with true singing voices... Sammy was not. Do you know that the concert tour we are looking at here was originally Frank, Liza, and Dean Martin. After a few months Dean dropped out because it became too much for him. Frank then called Sammy to replace him.
Thank you so much for uploading this rarity Jonathan. You’re a wonderful person for doing this for the fans! I’m familiar with the Detroit video, it’s so great to see them performing in another US city! I was fortunate enough to see them in London and it’s a memory I shall never forget. Please, I know it’s a lot of work, but if you can upload anything else from this show, we would all be so grateful. I know Liza would change up her songs a great deal, am so curious to learn what she performed in LA for The Ultimate Event show. Sailor Boys? The Sound Of Your Name? I Love A Piano? If you can upload anything else, please do 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

This is the best I have ever seen Liza Minnelli. She steals this performance.

LA MINELLI
Isn't it Detroit? I had the VHS..and I think it was Detroit.
PS: No...it differs a bit from the known Detroit-Recording. You are right I think.
3:28 Liza: "Maybe This Time..." Frank: "I hope so."
I'm not being coy. I don't get it. What did Frank hope?
