Hi Jay I agree with your comment 😀 Thanks for remembering Bobby's birthday I remember it was in Feb. but forgot the exact day We all miss him and will 'till we see him again up There ✌🎹 Dave
When I was considering to move to St. Paul - Minneapolis, I had the opportunity, luck and pleasure to meet this wonderful soul and immense pianist, the best pianist I've seen and meet in person, through a common friend (Jacka Jarreau) we share stage, then he took the sax and I accompanied, I think on that same piano on this video and same green drums ... when we finished playing he told me: "I wanna hear more of you" ... and I thought to myself "Say What?!!" "You Bobby Peterson wanna hear more from me, really?!! I was speechless, what a complement it meant to me, it still resonates in my memory .. he left too soon NOTE: thanks for posting this video, I couldn't find any thing from Bobby Peterson for many years..
Hey man! I'm a sax player on the Twin Cities scene. When I was about 5-6 years old my two older brothers took trumpet and saxophone lessons from Jacka. Some very nice memories of waiting in his house with my mom for my brothers' lessons to finish. Always very kind and encouraging to me. Wish I had the pleasure of knowing him after becoming a musician myself. Same with Bobby! I play with a bunch of people who knew him well, and I wish I were around to meet and play with him.
@@petergoggin8647 Hey!! what up!!?? , nice to meet you! yes Jacka quite a gentleman, we met through a common friend and promoter ... I spent a couple of weeks in his house and his late wife, he was planning to finish a recording studio in the basement, later he told me he did so and the result was great !! we were to partner up, but I couldn't make it back to the twin cities ... Lost contact with him, I have his number but he must have changed, don't know if he is still alive ...???
@@fatNightCAT Hi fatNightCat I was a good friend of this precious brother and his sweet wife He did pass on in 2002 or 3 (not sure) as Lindy mentioned In your comment you said "late wife?" Did Gail pass on? We've been trying to contact her for years to no avail Anyhow, Any info. would be appreciated If you could leave it here in the comments section I'd be very grateful God bless you Dave Winn
Thank you so much for preserving this wonderful memory Bobby Peterson was one of my closest friends.....well, more like a brother I'll never forget how he accepted people and was just was himself My heart still aches for the loss of this dear man Maybe we'll play together in Heaven......I sure hope so Thanks Brother for all the great times and music 🙏🏻 Sincerely, Dave
Sadly Bobby didn't live much longer after this. Dying after "knocking their socks off" @ a wedding rehearsal. I knew Bobby and although he was jazz, he could play anything. Played a few of my tunes..."gone but not forgotten".
Happy Birthday, Bobby, Feb. 16. Thank you for lifting us all a little higher. We're lucky to have been on the planet at the same time as you.
