Another great video Colton, thank you. I was convinced that Burbot was in the same classification as carp growing up and we always killed them and fed them back to the crawdads until I met a guy on the ice at the Gorge one weekend that was cooking Burbot and was walking around and handing out samples ever since then I keep them and make poor mans lobster with his recipe. He says to pull them out of the pan when they float but I like them to cook another 5 minutes or so it gives them more of a lobster type texture. • 1 lbs Burbot • 1/2 cup sugar • 1/4 cup salt • 1/2 cup butter. Optional: used for dipping. • 1 lemon INSTRUCTIONS 1. In a medium pot bring 2 quarts of water, sugar, and salt to a boil. 2. Cut the Burbot into bite size pieces. 3. Then add your Burbot the water. Boil your fish for about 10 minutes, the fish will float to the top of the water, be firmer and flaky! 4. While the fish cooks, melt butter in a pot for dipping. 5. When fish is done cooking remove from water onto paper towel lined plate. Top with lemon juice to liking. 6. Dip and enjoy!
Nice work Colton. Hope you guys have a merry Christmas. The best tip on this video for me was having a table! Not a bad idea. Those Looney baits are killer.
I was wondering the same thing. I’ll be there on 1/20 targeting lake trout, but I’ve been checking the weather every day and it’s looked warmer than usual
@stephenmalachi it is for sure. I was out at lost dog today and the ice had receded 150 yards in a few hours. It was 38°F at 7am this morning in Manila.
What a great fishing trip!

Awesome video guys and love you're baits. The wonder bread looney baits have been working great at scofield.

Nicely done Colton. We are going to try to make it to the bash this year.
Amazing watching you guys. Please let me go fishing with you guys this winter.

That burbot at 25 minutes is a freaking tank!
@jacobparr5948 yes, I caught one 3 weeks prior that beat that one by over 2 pounds.
Nice. True ice fisherman. not one slide across the ice to grab a jaw-jacker.
@@davidvillalovos-mv2do I have never liked jaw jackers for burbot. The mechanisms freeze up.
I seen you guys out there. The truck lights looked badass. Wanted to come say high but the burbot where biting
@brandongarcia9458 thanks. I would have stayed fishing too.
@LakeShoreTackle08 hoping they are still "on" tomorrow night gonna try it again

Awesome video! How’s the ice doing?
@MichaelWilliams-jq6eb receding, but I think starting Tuesday we should be growing much more
Wanting to go later this week. Do you think there will be ice still?
Yes the ice has only been growing
With livescope can you see fish on all your Holes at once
@mattensley2641 depends on how you drill your holes. Normally can see 3-4 rods for sure
Trout powerbait for burbot?
@208flatheads3 we started fishing trout and had caught 5 and then we caught 3-5 burbot on Looney Baits tipped with powerbait.
Burbot meat works well for cut bait...
Yes it's definitely does. We use Burbot tail split in 2. Also stays on the hook the best because of the tough skin.
Who is carrying your loony baits?
