It's Great to hear Ezra Shihan talk about his fantastic Aikido journey, so much dedication to the art of Aikido and many sacrifices along the way, great teacher for the physical and mental and compassion. Best regards and respect sensei.

I know Ezra Shihan since the year 2000. He came to India and taught our group for one week two classes a day. His knowledge of Aikido and life is too deep to comprehend in a short time. The process of learning Aikido demand that a serious practitioner must train under different teachers. As the shape of this art is round. I still wish I could train a bit more under him.

Does this relate to the so-called 'aikido' dojo in Hawaii which has a link to the Roppokai? One of his students occasionally trained with us many years ago at our aikido dojo. He trained with Dan Hardin.

The weird thing about aikido and these masters, they never test themselves in battle. They only practice throwing attackers that cooperate 100%. Their philosophy doesnt allow sparring nor competition, so they never know if they can handle a real attack. It may be a good workout or relaxing, byt butnitnis notba martial art.

OK mate, pop along to any of Ezra Shihan’s practices and start mouthing off. He will watch you carefully. Then try to attack him.

Not in my sensei's dojo. We still believe in Kuzushi and a range of other martial principles that are no longer followed in some major banches of Aikido. There are many aikidoka who believe it is purely a spiritual practice and therefore have abandoned any pretence of it being a martial art. These tend to be those focused on using ki as if that explains the bio mechanics involved. They also only focuse on O'Sensei's aikido of his last few years when he was extremely frail and sick with cancer. His Aikido was naturally foucsed on spiritual matters and thus you see him perform 'no touch' techniques.

From my recollection: Sensei Ezra worked on the doors for a few years in order to test his aikido....If you'd have ever met the man you'd know: Sensei Ezra was unique and the martial aspects of the art were taught with great import. You should know what you're talking about before you start slagging off people...I've trained in multiple martial arts, since I was a student at the Komyokan dojo, and what Sensei Ezra taught is very much still relevant....I might even go back next year - and try not to drink too much before you change into the keyboard warrior, it'll improve your spelling 🐵

I believe Tomiki style of Aikido do competitions. Search way of the warrior, there is a Japanese Tomiki style master on one of those videos demonstrating competitive Aikido
