Aloha Adam and Abby, thanks for the trip, that is my old stomping grounds. As a youth we used to come up from Mancos canyon and into the park from below not knowing we were in the park, I'v been in most of the ruins that are not open to the public, we were careful not to disturb anything or take anything. I wish I had known of your trip because there are more sites in that area with better Kiva's and ruins that are not commercialized. The Durango trip that is my home town we used to ride the train to Elk Park for $0.25 and hike across to Vallecito Lake. I would suggest taking the bus one way on the train trip.
80 dry degrees feels way better than 80 humid degrees! Thanks for taking us along been 25 years since I was there, I can barely remember most of it. The views bring back some memories.
That's one place you can't make handicap assessable, Adam thanks for taking me along. I'll never see it but only by you & Abbie sharing your trips. May God Bless our travelers .
One of the great things about sharing our adventures is those who cannot physically do the same things we do can still enjoy and see what the places we visit have to offer.
Does my heart good to see you folks experiencing this for the first time! Very enjoyable. Come back...I suggest Chaco Canyon...the Rome and Athens of the American Southwest...
Good job of capturing the essence of the Park. I was there 2 years ago, but was 1 week early for the guided tour season, nice to see some close ups of the ruins. So many ruins, they are everywhere.
This is absolutely incredible! I can only imagine how amazing it would have been to see or even live there when it was in its prime. amazing places like this are great reminders that primitive peoples weren't any less intelligent or capable than we are today.
You two Rock .lol no pun intended. But seriously you guys look great . Keep up the positive lifestyle! Love the content on both channels. Been a sub to Abom79 for about 5 years now !
Very cool video Adam! When you guys come back out to AZ you’ll have to check out Tuzigoot National Monument, as well as Montezuma Well, and Castle. My family has lived in the Verde Valley for over 100 years. So much cool history here! My mom used to work for the AZ state park service back in the day, and has done repair work on some of the original structures, and dwellings in all of those different locations. I bet you guys would love the Douglas Mining Museum at the Jerome, AZ state park too! And if you make it up to Jerome, you have to check out Don’s old Gold King Mine & Ghost Town, tons of old iron, and machines. Don’s family has thankfully kept things going, and they still do tours.
Now you need to get some Anasazi beans. They were discovered in the ruins and surprisingly were good after many years and were fertile. They are grown today from the original seed stock and are much like a navy or white bean. One benefit is they produce very little gas when eaten. A fine example of a plant from the past.
Hi! Nice adventure, thanks for sharing it in a video! I'm Brazilian living in Colorado and am going to visit Mesa Verde National park this month. I have a question. In this month the tour isn't being sold, but the park is open. Do you know that even though the dwelling cliffs are accessible?
We visited the park in August 2019, so this video is late getting published. I'm the tours aren't being offered right now you won't be able to see them up close. It's still a beautiful place to see!
my son in law manages a company that refurbishes hydraulic cylinders and stuff for mining applications in Farmington New Mexico 1 hour ish south of Durango CO, it's called Open Loop Energy check it out, Trip looks like fun!
