I've waited several months for the public defenders office to tell me they couldn't do it for me. I got approved for them to do It but because I had a traffic ticket, they denied me. They say because they do the record sealing and include getting rid of traffic tickets as well but because I didn't take care of the traffic ticket, they denied me. It took about 9 months for them to tell me this. I could've had my record sealed by now, myself. My nursing licensed expired now and I'm out of work now.

I'm glad I came across this page...1st my felony got reduced to a gross misdemeanor after being honorably discharged from probation in Feb of 2024. So I have to wait until 2026.. However, my attorney said to see him in 2025, so by 2026, he's ready to go. I guess my question is what gets sealed the new disposition or the old felony charge ? N what happens to the old charge once it got reduced ?
My record is sealed but I want to go for a full pardon to restore my gun rights. I’m having a hard time finding a lawyer who’s familiar with that. Any help?
If it’s sealed yes if it’s expunged then no sealing and expunging is different . Sealing record public can’t see it , but courts and cops can see it . Expungment deletes all of the record completely
It's likely the fbi would still have your records, but that probably wouldn't be of any concern to you. You wouldn't have any problems traveling out of the country. Just remember that when you seal your record it's hidden from the general public, including state agencies, and you can legally say it never happened. Technically the record still exists, but it could only be accessed again with a court order under rare circumstances. Let us know if you have any more questions.

Thanks for the info sending a email your way!
It's been over ten years, should I even do it now?
Yes, it's always a good idea to seal your record if you are eligible.
You look like the real life Jimmy McGill. Thanks for the info.
