@RSLight tryin to pass in same rusted thoughts and put the blame back on us . We have and will continue to grow in every sphere whole ur nations are still trying to short circuit our progress with ur stooges so get ur facts right .
@RSLight kinda nice to preach wisdom when you are at the receiving end of history, this reminds me of a saying you must be familiar with “white mans burden”.
Actually an American university has conducted studies to come up with an amount in 2020 that UK owes to India which was around 45 trillion American dollars taking inflation into consideration that amount has probably reached to 47 trillions USD by now.

Indians are obsessed with the past, whether it be the 'great' achievements of ancestors, such as space flight (Pushpak Viman), plastic surgery (Ganesh), IVF (100 births - Kauravas), or what the British or Mughal did in the past.
China gained freedom around the same time as India and now is challenging the US on all fronts, but Indians are just happy Pakistan is in the doldrums.
Individual Indians are successful (CEOs, authors, scientists, artists etc.), but India as a whole is progressing very slowly, because of this mentality.
Children and future generations of " The Great Britain " will not live proudly for their own British History..,
India, Africa n many more countries may or may not forgive Britain in Future but there's one is certain that they will not Forget.

Indian here, really nice reaction. This video needs to be watched by both Brits and Indians.
Hi alex Mr.THAROOR didnt cover the marine industry in india which has been destroyed by BRITONS . Indian shipping industry was one the best shipping industry in the world .India used to have world largest ships in the world . The ships build by britons used to come to repair every 3-4 years but the ships build by India used to come to repair 40 years. Britons deliberately imposed the restrictions on the ships coming to europe even they tried to destroy ships coming from india. They raped, converted, killed indians. GOD BLESS THEM..
Yes all the Indian ships were burnt and their designs destroyed

I truly miss my culture and people.
maybe one day i will find My way back to India.
MR. BBC, where are you? Why don't you make a full-length documentary on your Head-looter aka the Royal Family of Britain?
Personally I don't care about a pity sorry or a force emotional apology. All we need is reparation in thr the form of monetary value. Britain's apology wouldn't bring back the old happy days but that monetary value would assist new India in a far great manner.
Colonialism is not something that happened in the past, it is still happening even now. What France is doing in Africa is extremely immoral. They are collecting tax worth 500 billion dollars from their former colonies. They are still exploiting their resources like uranium and gold paying well below the market price in Niger.
Lets make a correction- looters not conquerers ! That’s way you don’t feel unnecessarily superior
@RSLight hi bot
So other empires weren't looters????😂
Totally agree with you when you said colonization has never been pretty, that's an ugly fact. Beside if even i was the brightest orator in the world, i definitely will think thrice before getting on with Dr. Tharoor. He is just a class apart.
What about our looted proepty decorated in their museums. And our KOHINOOR decorated in a jewel in the crown of British Royal family????
They took away prince Dilip Singh from Punjab and gave him to British family so that he could never meet his mother and know that he was prince of Punjab.
Shame on British Colonialism
On April 17th 2016 India’s solicitor-general Ranjit Kuma told the Indian Supreme Court that in the opinion of the Indian government, the Kohinoor diamond had not been forcibly taken but was a gift from the successors of Maharaja Ranjit Singh to East India Company in 1849 as compensation for helping them in the Sikh wars.
I will be happy if they just return the stuff which is in their museum and on the heads of their kings and queens.
Don't say museum. Say British government chor bazar.
Leave aside reparations, isn't Britain ashamed of stock piling its museums with all the Indian artifacts and Indians actually have to pay an entry fee to see the stuff which actually belongs to them, undoubtedly brits are the most shameless in that matter.
The British Museum and other national institutions are prevented from returning items by the British Museum Act 1963 and the Heritage Act 1983.. The British government’s position is that institutions should “retain and explain” any contested artefacts'.
It's funny we Sri Lanka also colonised by British but we don't have this kind of anger towards British colonizers.
Attecking is ez but says some words is hard 😂😂
Its always shock me seeing anglo people not having a clue from his own history
+: I have the feeling that Shashi Tharoor does not want to be more directly, but between 1880 and 1920 the British Empire killed more than 100 million people in India.
Hypocrisy of the west especially the British isn't that they don't acknowledge the past but they down right chose to ignore it even after knowing all the atrocities thier ancestors did .

We do not want money. We want the British to teach the real history of their Empire. The contribution of Bengal in industrial revolution, the contribution of India in the development of the UK and the British role in man-made famines, poverty creation and how India declined from one of the most prosperous countries to one of the poorest during the British rule and how the British ruined India by dividing it in 1947 when it departed without taking any responsibility for the human beings. However, it is far cry. I have lived in Britain for many years for my education and some years work experience after completing my education. They never accept their defects or any blames, but they always have a defensive attitude.
Adam Smith, John Stuart Mill, Bentham are the examples of the British attitude.
Yes my modiji jai Modiji 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳👍👍👍🌹🌹🌹👏👏👏💯
17:29 sure no money is gonna be enough obviously, I don’t want that be used as the excuse to not pay. Let them start paying in small amounts after acknowledging their the debt, and let them pay for 300yrs in small sums. But they have to pay. There’s no making adjustments with that. We been generous, polite and Humble way too much to anyone who comes to our country.
What ?????

Our curse will never go in vain to that land where the Satan's agents operated from.

Whatever anyone says or comments on video but in real time Brits don't even know their bloody history. Where ever European went did massacre not only in India or Africa also in USA native tribes, Australia.
This Brits will come and talk about moral compass everything but never pressurize their government for that apology, cause Government is formed by people. 😂
Captain Cook found australia. You still come under british crown.
I wonder what British people study in their History books!
Hey Alex : A hillarious clip from a Hindi Movie worth watching ....
>
He didn't even mentioned the jallianwala bagh massacre, if you just research a bit then you'll understand....
It done by sikh soldiers on white master order to get their pay on time, same fought against in 1857 revolts on British side, so don't complain
And that is only white money, which is told the East India company , real amount is much more.
Britain is now suffering the karma of what it has done to India in the past.
British Parliament awarded Dyer 26000 pounds in 1920,who killed 1200 innocent in Jaliyanwala bagh.
Official death figures are 379 not 1200 at Amritsar. An official enquiry was set up at the time. Churchill campaigned to remove Dyer from the army. These kind of incidents are tragic but still happen in India such as the Sopore massacre in Kashmir on 6 January 1993 when 55 Kashmiri students were killed by Security forces who fired on a procession.
After all this British not apologize on JALIAWALA BAG SHOOT OUT.
India wil
Rise again
And smash the West and its condasending ways
Jai hind. Jai bharat
He even didnt mention violence like jaliyawalabagh were many Indian families were brutally shot at by a british officer and his force continuosly for participating in peaceful rally or hanging people in full public view or feeding dogs live men to teach people lessen.Looting our heritage is anyways known to whole world.
What happened in Jalian wala baugh was not the work of Britisher alone, the Muslim leag
Was equally responsibility for the deaths.
Time is over for sorry
Now they definitely pay for it

@@MrPeaceGuy54i don't understand bro please speak clearly
@@Santanibalak1 I am sorry, friend. What I meant was that while we should always do the right thing and expect others to do the same, I don't think that revenge or the idea that people who have nothing to do with the actions of those who came before them should be made to "pay". Sometimes, we have to rise above a harmful cycle instead of accidentally becoming a part of it. There is a reason why Swami Vivekananda believed in Advaitic pluralism and the ultimate unity of being (which is also a view that is held by Ramanujacharya's Vishishtadvaita).
@@MrPeaceGuy54 Sorry bro, but I don't agree with you. Because of which more than 100 million people died only in India and uncountable in the world, I cannot forgive those robbers. Vivekananda ji has said right but I give more importance to Gita. Lord Shri Krishna says in the Gita that fighting only for one's own revenge is bad, but war must be fought for the welfare of the world. What do you think British is only in UK no brother in Bretton Woods Agreement only head office of Britishers is from London to Washington, D.C. was shifted. His empire is still the same
@@Santanibalak1 I am not denying that horrors were committed during that period, but it is equally true that the Empire as it once was does not exist. The Bretton Woods agreement created an international currency exchange system that only lasted until the 1970s. There is a difference of degrees between the West trying to maintain its supremacy and the ouright subjugation that existed before. Of course, neither is good, but we cannot pretend as if everything is the exact same. I think that we should not forget, but we should forgive. The Gita is about many things. For example:
'In the Bhagavad-gita (16.3), Lord Krishna declares forgiveness to be a godly quality foundational for liberation and is contrasted with the anger and harshness that characterize the ungodly who stay in bondage.
In the Srimad Bhagavatam (9.15.40), the sage Jamadagni glorifies forgiveness: “The duty of a transcendentalist is to culture the quality of forgiveness, which is illuminating like the sun. The Supreme Person, Hari, is pleased with those who are forgiving.”'
-Gokulhouse
In the Gita, Lord Krishna is willing to let the Pandavas live with only five villages even though they could have conquered the world. The Pandavas could have argued that the final limit was at least a few states, but Lord Krishna went much further than that. Lord Rama sent Lakshman ji to learn valuable lessons from Ravana even though he could have simply left. The basic principle remains the same-one should strive to do good even when others don't always agree with us. We should also remember that the things Lord Krishna and Lord Rama did were during a period in which wars were common. For their time, their actions were unthinkable. Since we live in a different environment, we have to focus more on the Atman of the principle, which, I think, will lead us to a position that is both firm but also accepting and compassionate. In particular, we have to remember that the part does not always represent the whole.
