I am really glad that Dr. Shashi Tharoor manifested the wrongdoings and torture that we had faced as a nation. We could have shared the same stage where most of the developed nations are but we were burried under the false media. The way they marked the boundary of our neighbours, the option offered to princely states to either stay with the Union of India or become Independent etc was intentionally done. there was a plethora of princely state when Britishers came, so they conquered some of them including Mughals, Marathas etc and created British India.
so there were three-part 1- British India, commissioners and princely state.
they ruled over British India directly and did accord with the princely state which was suppressive in nature. and Britain continued to engulf princely state to extend boundaries of British India. when they left there were still 100s of the princely state.
so we were handed over British India only and India had to integrate other leftover princely states, that is why we call Sardar Patel "Iron man of India" and "unifier of India".
