      Thank you! Marriage takes work and first and foremost God as the centre of it otherwise it’s just going to crumble and fall and it’s not nice to say the least. Yes having a mentor and your church pastors behind you before marriage and after too it all helps. Spending time together doing things having date nights etc, and communication is very important in a marriage, spending time reading God’s word and praying all Important in a marriage. I know God has completely healed my heart and has been preparing me for my future hubby someday soon😁

    I love this! I have been married to my groom for 15 years (next Wednesday is our 15th anniversary!) and YES, I agree to everything you have stated. I did most of these, I had a mentor (I was heavily involved in my church and worship ministry), I kept pure for God and groom, but we didn’t know our worst faults or was the best with our finances. Guess what though? God showed Himself SO strong SO MANY times in our first 7 years of marriage. It was hard for us from year one to year ten. Why? I got pregnant on our honeymoon (Total God baby, due to me being on BC and him using one) and after birth of my sweet daughter, I was diagnosed with an awful disease. I just got into remission in 2018. It was very painful, very unpredictable. I wasn’t supposed to have my son, but I did! Now tell me there isn’t a God! He definitely wanted these two kids to be born. All in all, with over 15 surgeries on me and having a husband deployed (we are military) and raising two kids, we are finally super secure and have complete trust with each other. We knew that without God and without each other, we wouldn’t make it in life. Somehow God still blesses us, even though we are so not worthy, and I am forever in His debt. You two kids enjoy marriage and everything it has for you. Forever in Christ~Angela

    I like to read books on marriage, ask older believers for advice, and work at understanding myself and my flaws to prepare for marriage some day. Scripture and books talking about scripture have really helped me understand God's design for Marriage and sexuality. As far as older people, my generation has a lot we can learn from the past two generations if we are actually looking to learn. Could you guys (or maybe Paul and Michael?) please do a video going more in depth concerning pornography and seeing victory in the fight for sexual purity? It's a heavy topic, but a lot of us guys who watch here could probably benefit from some videos on it. Thanks!

      Amen! Did you know that porn actually CHANGES your brain...like physically? It really does. Plus the serial killer Ted Bundy, was influenced by porn. The gruesome things he did to women were all from the hard core porn that he watched. You just have to get men to view you the way God views you. It’s a physical need for men to have sex, but with Gods help, purity is possible. I waited till marriage and so did my husband. Love you darling!

    • @zogly9469
      @zogly9469 5 років тому +1

      Komerican10 Yes, I know all too well. Porn chemically changes the brain in the same way some drugs do. The dopamine receptors get too much and shut down, requiring a greater amount/level of porn to get the same response. Porn is addictive, and is something I wouldn’t have been able to escape from without God’s help and a lot of time. But because of it, I now have a passion for marriage and sexuality as God intended, and want to promote His way as my ministry. It would be awesome to look back when I’m 80 and be able to say I damaged the industry.

    • @Komerican10
      @Komerican10 5 років тому

      Zogly Yay!! I thought it was a guy that you were dating that had the porn addiction. I am SO proud of you!! Not many ppl know that porn changes the brain so I am impressed that you know this! Good on you! I’m super happy that God helped you break that stronghold! My husband had this issue in the beginning of our marriage, but when he read a book written by my dear friends husband about his battle with porn and masturbation, it helped to motivate him to stop. Also for the sake of our marriage too. Just keep strong and know that even though the enemy is out there to steal, kill and destroy, you have God right next to you and the Holy Spirit to whisper the answers you need:) ❤️❤️❤️🥰

      Barbara Freeman Where in scripture does it sanction polygamy and taking slaves ma’am? There is a lot of R and x-rated history in scripture, but it is more of a history of how messed up humans are than a show of what God says is acceptable.

    Congrats on becoming full time youtubers! 🙌🏻 I found your tip about saving encouraging. Not something I've been focusing on. Paul said I would that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully. So my tip for ladies is learning how to cook nutritious meals, clean/organise, be in the word (reading, studying, exhortations, hymns, sermons) & praying daily. I would encourage men to learn how to be godly leaders and become financially stable as he is to be the main provider ☺️

  • @nathandelong7069

    I always love it when you mention the importance of saving, avoiding debt, and being a good steward of the money God has given you to manage on His behalf. I have been on a plan to pay down debt for a year now, and I still have a long way to go, but I’ve paid down close to $10,000 in that span as a young bachelor on a modest income. Living on a budget and working toward financial peace has completely changed my outlook on money and using it to glorify God!

    Do pre marriage counseling! Marriage counseling is not just for when everything goes wrong, it’s simply bringing someone along that can give good advice. Kind of like mentors, but it’s something you do together as a couple with an already experienced couple. We knew an amazing couple who had walked with God and each other for many years, and they helped us think through stuff and work it out even before it became an issue. We’ve now been married for 13 plus yearS, and are loving it!

    Congrats on 91K! The biggest thing I would advise people is knowing what scripture says on marriage, knowing the roles in marriage is huge. Can you fully embrace what God's word says. Being selfless now will help later on in marriage, so much self sacrificing. Having Godly couples who are married is important like mentioned. Sexually purity of course. The more a man and woman is submitted under Christ the easier it will be. Marriage is all about glorifying God and showcasing His glory to the world.

    "The Singleness Ways" 😂 Cracked me up but it's sooooo true!!!! Everyone complaining about being single but no one putting in the work to prepare themselves for marriage. I've really been trying to use the extra free time I have not being a wife or a mother to learn more about those two things! Like watching Christian moms and wives on UA-cam who are SOLID and have loads of practical wisdom and advice and tips that have been extremely helpful to me. I'm seeing more and more how valuable it is for us as single girls to be around young moms and just get something of an idea of what mother-hood and wife-hood entails :) One of my close friends from high school has been married for almost 3 years now and I was just chatting with her the other day about wife-stuff haha and she's been SUUUUUCH a blessing and help to me and I've really appreciated her willingness to be open and challenge me and share things with me as well :) The finance one hit me hard.....yeahhh, that is for sureee yes something I need to work on....I don't spend extravagantly (I actually really don't like spending money all the time haha) but I still need to learn the difference between "a want" and "a need". They are NOT the same thing haha Aaaaaaand speaking of wants and needs...your new merch!!!! 😂 Still need to snag some....Love you guys and keep shining

      Agree with A.Shaye - ideally it would be a mentor couple.
      As Komerican10 stated - yes, someone of the same gender is probably going to understand you and your struggles and needs best, but in marriage that's only half of it, you need to understand your spouse's needs, perspective.
      When my husband and I have misunderstandings, and i think about taking that problem to a female friend/mentor, sometimes I have to ask myself "am i really looking for resolution here, or am i just seeking justification for my side of things. Do I really have his/our best interests at heart?"
      And then about 2 out of 3 times I end up going to a guy friend/mentor about it. Straightforward, no nonsense insight and I'm then quickly back on course to an understanding/resolution with my husband. 😊

    • @Komerican10
      @Komerican10 5 років тому

      AcornsAndHoney maybe I didn’t clarify myself. I’m sorry. What I meant to say was if you are single (not married yet) and going to counseling alone, it would be wise to seek a same sex counselor. For married couples? Another couple can definitely work. You have more flexibility as a married person than being single. I have always loved having 2 ppl that I trust with me in counseling. That way, you have a witness and you get double the advice:)

    I am really excited to be married one day and in preparation, something I have been doing is what you said of being responsible with my finances so I do not bring a burden of debt into my next relationship. Additionally, though I have found this to be so important... I have learned to be restful in the waiting rather than restless in the wanting (of a future spouse). It may sound silly but simply living without expectation of him showing up helps to stand firmly in a relationship with Christ.

    How to enjoy singleness when you’ve been single lifelong?
    I’m 21 not 12 btw.

    • @rebeccamclaren97
      @rebeccamclaren97 5 років тому +7

      Don't lose hope. I'm also in my early twenties and never had a relationship before, and I used to get very depressed seeing so many happy couples and people my age getting married etc. My parents were married by 20, but I think God has me waiting for a reason.
      I'd also love help on how to "enjoy" being single, but for me Christ is everything and my focus is on Him and not my current status, which is temporary.
      I've kind of prepared myself, through prayer and reading God's word, for a life of singleness if that's His will. Because I know that even though a guy could make me very happy, even though I sometimes long to have someone on this earth who understands me and cares, nothing can make me more happy than Christ, and as I already have Him there's nothing to add to my life, in that way. I am complete in Him and no guy can top that!
      Don't know if that makes sense, but it's definitely given me more peace from the restlessness I used to feel regarding being single. Whatever God asks of me, I will do, and whatever He keeps me from, I will be content with knowing He created me and has a plan.

    I'm learning how to be emotionally vulnerable with God, myself, and others so I can be openly affectionate with people without defaulting into self-defense insecurity don't-touch-me mode. Cuz I'm not tryna go into my marriage doubting if I'll be able to hold my husband when he needs comfort or doubting if I'll accept his holding me for comfort without tensing up in my-heart-is-too-open-gah-must-protect panic. Not the life I want lol.

    Thank you for this! I'm learning that I'm going to live my life the way God is wanting me to. When He has the right one, he'll see my love for God and want to be a huge part of helping me grow more and wanting me to help him grow as well!

    I need help. Will a masturbation addiction put a stop to ever finding a wife? Should I just give up until I conquer this? I've been struggling with this sin for 10 long years, and it doesn't help that I started at such I young age. I'm 19, and well yeah, I guess you can do the math. I hate doing it, but out of everything I've ever conquered and gotten over, this addiction has been a real powerful force in my life. I really want wife, and I hope to find a good woman by the end of the year. What should I do concerning relationships?

    Hi:) question. What do you do if you’re in college and broke and have been dating for 3 years and want to get married lol

    • @kaylanfomby7506
      @kaylanfomby7506 5 років тому +2

      Lol I have 2 friends who just graduated from college and got married last October ... They're not entirely financially stable and they'd also been dating for 2 years. It took a lot of prayer from both of them, if getting married then was Godly wisdom or waiting. If God gives the yes, then He will provide the means, aka the moneys lol. Talk with your bae, pray with your bae, get wise Godly counsel from wise people. ❤

      I can relate to that!I know I should enjoy it,but I am so afraid of messing it all up,I an afraid that I will never be ready for marriage and if an amazing guy shows up and he proposes me,I will not feel ready If I have not a single job at least,etc..I am afraid that I will never get the chance of getting married before Jesus returns....

    At least half my friends are much older than me.
    I think it’s good to keep in mind that the yearn for companionship we hold is an opportunity to get closer to Jesus. I, as a woman, am waiting for my groom and Jesus. Every time I have those longings I try to keep Jesus in mind and lean on the thought of Him more than a husband. Because marriage is a picture of the kind of intimacy we can have with God. And I want to love God a lot more than the thought/fantasy of a husband
