Romancing the Stone, The Jewel of the Nile and The War of the Roses have made this trio AWESOME an 20th Century Fox did a great job producing these films God Bless'em All
After so many years I have watched this film once more.. I never could forget the passion and great acting of both characters, and how little by little they could do such things to get rid of each other and stay with the house. It is funny but terribly dramatic, a masterpiece of Danny de Vito, as director of the film.
My Mom took me to see this at the Drive-In. I was 5, it was Christmas time, and I was WAY too young to appreciate it. I think Mom hated it, but she was going through a divorce at the time.
This is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. I've probably watched it 30 times. Absolute "black comedy" classic. When Douglas starts chugging the Gatorade I almost fall over every time.
I watched this movie years ago (before I even considered getting in a relationship) and thought is was beyond great. When people tell me about a bad relationship I always bring up this movie and yet I find some people have never heard of it. If you are not hanging by a chandelier by the end, it really was not a fight.
In The War of the Roses, my true love gave to me: 12 traps a flying, lots of orchids dying, piles of statues breaking, all the walls a shaking, lots of flying chairs, tumbling down the stairs, five broken teeth, four fractured bones, three cracked ribs, two wrecked cars, and a pup-py in a pa-te, WOOF!
Id say both her and Michael’s performances were worthy of nominations, as they are very multi dimensional - going from smitten to funny to violent/raging.
This movie actually disturbed me on a personal level when I saw it-becuase it made me think of my parents divorce. Their marriage split for many of the same reasons shown in this film, though for the most part they kept it civil for my brother's my and sake. But there were moments where their mutual anger and resentment could have degenerated horribly, into something as ugly and overdramatic as this. People can do such horrible things when they are mad at each other.
Daniel: I agreewith you, the fact that we all tend to 4get is to listen instead of hearing to understand. You with me Angel?🥰From the Dominican Republic.
One of my all time favorite movies. Such a classic. They really don't make movies like this anymore. The definition of a toxic couple. And although I've seen this movie too many times to count. I always root for them to reconcile at the end even though (Spoiler) it could never happen.
A classic! Kathleen and Michael made you feel the hatred they had for each other. btw, the guy at beginning being given advice to is Homer Simpson's voice actor
Makes sense as Jim Brooks produced this, and hes one of the main people behind The Simpsons. Ironic that Dan is most known for his voice, and yet literally doesn’t say a word the whole movie 😂
This film will teach you that "love never lasts forever. It eventually wilts and dies". In this film, the couple's lives were explosive as a train wreck, and just as spectacular. These opposites didn't just attract - they collided! The stakes were high since, as a married couple, they couldn't live without each other, nor when they were apart. The wife was feeling disconnected with the texture of her life. When she gets a call from a hospital informing her that her husband with involved in an automobile accident and succumbed, she closes her eyes and feels an unexpected surge of relief. Top performances from Kathleen Turner and Michael Douglas.
I love this movie! My ex and I split our house in half during our divorce. It was a big money pit. He tried to con me into staying married. He's such a narcissist he couldn't believe I hated him for backstabbing me and our kids. He'd dissipated a fortune on bimbo bribes and living the high life by the time I caught him. He stashed money offshore but I cut my losses and ran after he nearly killed me. My sister's ex shot at her as she left, but it didn't faze her. She's a better shot. :D
Saw this movie several years ago. I had no idea it was supposed to be a comedy. Same thing with "The Graduate", didn't find out it was a comedy until long after seeing it.
Where I went to school, they had a man like Danny DeVito they called the Toad,I don't think DeVito would like being called Toad. This guy was a math and history teacher and the basketball coach, picture DeVito being a basketball coach. His favorite line when he was pissed was "Ill kick your ass in your ears"I think DeVito would use that line
I love this movie so so much, everything about it :the script ,the director's scenes are awesome!I keep repeating myshelf but still this is one of my favourite movies of all times!
What!! A Movie!! Endibley Wow! Endlibly raw to the bone Acting by Douglas & Turner! 🌀🌀 A fairytale tO the Wild Shennagins Loco! Thanks! fOr Sharing! Quite Extraordinary!!
I've always liked this movie! They both did a pretty good job of playing the bitter husband and wife that go at each other! The ending scene is a bit sad and sweet though.... And don't ask me what it is; watch it to find out. LOL
I gotta watch this movie now. Had no idea Douglas and Kathleen Turner had another movie together. This kinda reminds of the movie Mr and Mrs Smith haha
Anyone getting a divorce should watch this film. A coworker of mine is getting a divorce and I have been telling him to lawyer up now and be as ruthless as he can possibly be but, he keeps thinking they will "work it out' and everything will be ok. Men get soooo screwed in divorces because they are naive and trusting. Wise up men, you have the right to be happy. Quit thinking you have to be a slave to your job, wife, kids and your house. Be happy NOW, life is too short.
He neglected her for very long periods and she stopped to love him, when woman stops to love someone , she hates every detail related to him, so, better to divorce her or she will make his life like a hell ... The staff of the movie studied very well the psychology of a woman ...
Micheal and kathleen turner and devito really had great chemistry all their movies were awesome.
Romancing the Stone, The Jewel of the Nile and The War of the Roses have made this trio AWESOME an 20th Century Fox did a great job producing these films
God Bless'em All
Manny your lines? Fact.I loved them in Romancing The Stone.🤧🤧🤧🤧🤧🤧My bad, I wanted them to honestly get married.
Without question one of the most enjoyable and funniest movies ever made! And also one you can watch again and again!
After so many years I have watched this film once more.. No better film for Valentine’s Day
😂😂😂

I think Mom hated it, but she was going through a divorce at the time.
I love this movie.. one of my favorites. Both Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner & Danny DeVito are heck of a team working together.
"I got more square footage!" You go man!
Why can't there be any more good movies like this being made today? I miss the actors and the actress like this movie showed..
Cause the actors haven't lived real lives.
This is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. I've probably watched it 30 times. Absolute "black comedy" classic. When Douglas starts chugging the Gatorade I almost fall over every time.
The Orginal Mr. & Mrs. Smith but Mr. & Mrs. Smith with Brad Pitt, and Angelina Jolie was better with GUNS!
I watched this movie years ago (before I even considered getting in a relationship) and thought is was beyond great. When people tell me about a bad relationship I always bring up this movie and yet I find some people have never heard of it. Mark Ruckman definitely...beautiful comedy for all time...Greetings from Croatia
@@shelbysamson6031 HAHAHAHAHA!!
Love this movie. They were such a good tandem in the 80s.
Loved them in the Romancing the Stone series.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
“Love makes you do CRAZY things.” 🙄😂🤮
This was the comedy version of Fatal Attraction. I was a teenager when I seen this movie . Very funny love all 3 actors 😅
Yeah Douglas definitely played some douch*s in his day.
@@courtneyawalsh Oh like Kathleen Turner's was a peach in this film lol.
"When trouble begins, it comes out from your directions you've never expect." That can be true (even in real life).
EPIC...........Everyone should see this movie before they get married.
Or just sign a prenup
I think of this movie every time I think of my parents
My dad loved this movie. I think he could relate.
Kathleen Turner should have won the Oscar for This film.
Id say both her and Michael’s performances were worthy of nominations, as they are very multi dimensional - going from smitten to funny to violent/raging.

I’m very sorry you had to go through that bro
War… Is Hell

Everyone is wrong here. The woman just wanted a new dick. This is the movie all about.

Michael Douglas, my man, if you are hearing this, do me a huge favor:
MAKE ANOTHER MOVIE WITH KATHLEEN TURNER!
Daniel Lupo Yes!
She plays his ex-wife in the Netflix show "The Kominski Method", but so far it's only a few minutes of footage.
@@knunniek.9304 Totally

Well it can die. But she hated him. I saw the movie when I was young. And I got scare of marriage thinking I will end hating my husband.
Thank God, I'm a bachelor and never even thinking of getting married.
still bachelor? :)

Can't believe I've never watched this as I love Romancing the stone. Look forward to seeing it.
Such an underrated director
This movie is a good legit excuse why I will NEVER EVER get married.

Patrick: Touche friend, touche, we are no fools.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Scares me to death, and I'm not even dating anyone or seeing anyone!
You married yet?
And you are doing wise with that since I am LIVING that f'cking movie right now
Saw this movie several years ago. I had no idea it was supposed to be a comedy. Same thing with "The Graduate", didn't find out it was a comedy until long after seeing it.
Wow you're a bit slow huh
The Graduate was pretty depressing though.
I'm living this film. We've played out just about every scene. (Never f*** with a gymnast). One of us is going to die. And it isn't going to be me.
Have you thought about the possibility of a divorce?
Karl Smith 😂😂😂😂
So what's new?
@@gcampagn I would rather live in Canada. Higher life expectancy and better health insurance
Well, damn!😂😂😂
"I just want to smash your face in!" LOVE it!!
I can't be the only one who feels that this makes a better sequel to "Romancing the Stone" than "Jewel of the Nile".
This movie makes me feel happy for being single
And that phony laugh! :D
Literally Johnny Depp and his ex-wife and a nutshell
I was coming here to make the same comment 😂

The coach like Danny DeVito's name was Harry C Hoyle-I think Devito would bee peerfect for playing Mr Hoyle
A better love story than twilight
Still a lame comment
Who is hear after the jk teaser ? 😅
Turner's voice is awesome. Especially when she screams at 1:30
In 2022, this is called Depp vs Heard.
In 2020 the Quarantine has many people living like this
"Sorry, I thought you were Barbara"
favorite comedy of all time :)
`i`m more than happy- i`m married!!!` you have to be married to appreciate his innocence....
Actually, they mentioned in the movie that she used to be a gymnast. :-)

i came on here thinking it might have to do with the Lancasters and Yorks
I always regarded this a sequel to Romancing the stone. When a romance starts with great passion and adventure it usually ends like this 😂
I love this movie so much 😢
This movie should’ve came out on Valentine’s Day along time ago.

This movie more entertaining because war between Mr. and Ms. Smith is war between Aniston and Jolie.
all dysfunctional families on TV compare to this couple a just flowers :)
best movie, omg
I love the scene when Oliver pisses on the fish xD
yea Oliver never gave Barbera much attention but she still blew it all out of proportion
I think this reminds me of my relationship with my high school girlfriend in Penna.
