Isu fan here… that first interception happened because Texas ran that play on isu the year previous and they recognized the line up, apparently they were screaming the play out to the defense as the ball was snapping. The Corner didn’t bite down on the RB because they knew the pass over the middle would be a touchdown… at least it was for Texas

Man… every damn time we get a little momentum….. our offense finds a way to completely destroy any positivity. The run game was great, Cade was so terrible… the big question for me is what the hell happened to our secondary?
@@benjaminrobbins8458 Felt like a game from the 2018 season - clearly have a good team, just can’t make the final play.
The right side of our o-line looks really good. I’m not sure that we are really good… the offense in the second half, and the first two drives inside the 5 were just so bad… and our defensive line struggled to get adequate pressure on the qb. Graves in particular was disappointing after his game against Illinois State, I thought Black was great at being disruptive… we have to find a way to create more of a pass rush. The secondary in the second half was not very good.. was that a result of adjustments by ISU and guys not executing? Xavier Nwampka was really disappointing, I have to be honest with him in particular I expected a great season, and he has been anonymous other than giving up 6 last week.
Pass rush was disappointing for sure.
Iowa has a Kirk Ferentz problem. Wisconsin and Nebraska have made necessary changes to compete with the new Big Ten. We are going to get left in the dust with kirks ultra conservative philosophy. It’s already cost us 1-2 unacceptable losses a year with a easy schedule. Starting next year we are in big trouble if he doesn’t decide to step down. Not saying we will get something better right away but we have to adapt to the times.
Jury is still out on Wisco but agreed on Neb taking a step.
Sometimes it’s when you call the play more than the play itself. We were jumping every short pass by their 2nd possession, waiting till 2nd half to go downfield against our boys, was all about timing.
I think the failed 2 point conversion changed everything. It’s not us it made no sense we are Iowa we play Iowa ball every point matters. We weren’t doing well red zone anyways. Just not smart. We let the field be able to beat us
Also it’s a momentum swing they scored early 3rd we answered HUGE. But then you give them some confidence by stopping a 2 point conversion. 0 sense
@@DragonMasterRik I think the idea was ISU likely has two scoring drives left in them at most. The immediate TD broke that math.
I agree that chasing points when 20 was still on the table for ISU was short sighted. Especially with the struggles in the redzone
This was the show I needed. Cause I certainly was on the fire Kirk train. I still don’t believe he’s a playoff contender type of coach and hardly a championship one, and have held that belief for some years now, but you guys help reign my anger back in lol

Iowa iced Iowa St’s kicker in 2014 - he missed the first kick and then hit the second kick. Might be why they opted not to.

I really hope that Iowa looks for another transfer QB this offseason hand selected by Lester. I think part of the issue is that Lester is hand tied with Ferentz QBs.
KFs philosophy of ultra conservatism and playing not to lose are the complete opposite of a confident warrior spirit. Its such a heart breaking product. So sick of it

Doesn’t it seem fair though to at least question the staff/Ferentz on lack of scoring points? If we scored points, this pod would have been 30 min long and rah rahing Iowa for dismantling ISU. Jmo.
With a QB who lacks arm strength like Cade, and who also cannot run, Iowa is extremely limited at QB. Guve Sullivan a chance and less see what he has.

Bama struggles with the forward pass. Their offense could be sporadic as long as Milroe is their QB.

Just tired of watching a no imagination, vanilla, offense. We lost this game in the first half. Can’t punch it on 2 separate occasions from the 2 and 3 !! 1st and goal!!?? And at 19-14 I we needed to kick the extra point. 6 is a key number when talking Iowa football, and we had already proven we don’t have a play that can make a td let alone 3 from the redzone

Blaming every play that Iowa DIDN’T make while not acknowledging that Iowa State DID make the plays makes you guys seem like a couple of homers.
