HMS Tom Moore or we riot
Y A S!
Nice idea
Well there IS all these new frigates they're building...
@Percy Harry Hotspur Perhaps they thought it would be best not to distract from Colonel Tom's day with the security/media circus that accompanies them wherever they go. At least the Queen sent him a personal card instead of the standard 100th birthday form letter the others receive.
as far i know only the us navy names a ship after a living person , let's wait then
Doesn't matter if he's a Captain or an honorary colonel, would like to see him as Sir Tom
yep agreed , OBE at least
Congrats “Colonel” Tom! You are an absolute inspiration! Wish our worthless president and Governor had 1/4 of your fortitude, courage and integrity. From TX, United States.
@Enoch's Ghost I still think that Her Majesty should have the only say in who is knighted. It's by her hand and her authority, after all!
It has happened to today

A true patriot, Yorkshireman, Englishman and British Hero! Much respect to you Colonel!
From a fellow Yorkshireman from an old military family, couldn't agree more! love the profile thumbnail picture there by the way 😂
Rather a Hero of Humanity. Wonder if there are any more of them out there?
he came from my town, keighley
Patriot aka boot licker
@@ReservoirPunk Patriotism isn't the equivalent to BootLicker. He did what he could to try and help (even in a limited capacity.) when it would have been much easier for him to do nothing at all. I think that is a form of patriotism one can get behind.
Should have promoted him to Major. People would sing songs about him.
*Sabaton intensifies*
No! It goes by major, Corporal to general major. DUH!
@Wayne Flanigan You missed the joke.
David Bowie approves!!
@@jhutch1470 Nah, chuckle. Colonel Tom, sounds all right.
I thought your comment was a bottler.
Colonel Tom, we salute you, Sir.
Absolute class from the army honouring Captain Tom is more than justified.
I hope I am not intruding, but I would like to offer the sincere respects and deep regards of an old American cavalry corporal to Col. Tom Moore, RAC and Harrowgate AFC.
Tip of the Stetson to you, sir. You done good.
You're not intruding sir, you're more than welcome to be involved in this celebration, after all, you are our closest ally. Our nations have been through many tough times together.
Cheers from the UK to USA
Not intruding at all. We are cousins in my eyes.
Your a gentleman sir
Not intruding at all sir We are brothers in arms and in peace hope you stay safe and well

Congratulations Colonel Sir 🇬🇧
Captain sorry Colonel Tom Moore a true British hero and a Gentleman. He represents the best of the UK in these dark times that we have here in the UK. Colonel Tom Moore also represents the pride of the UK, the Men and Women of our Armed Forces who are the best in the world. Like many Men and Women who served the UK past, present and future who either made the sacrifice of their lives, received terrible and devastating wounds or survived there tour of duty or any war, are the true heroes of my country and Captain ( Colonel) Tom Moore is one of them. Heroes don't wear capes. Congratulations on your 100th birthday and God bless you Sir. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧💂♂️💂♂️💂♂️💂♂️💂♂️
Willfully denying Bengal food and staring hundreds of thousands? Represents the British pretty well.
1 what the hell has Bengal Food got to do with this page about honouring Captain Tom Moore. 2 what the hell are you on about. 3 honouring heroic and brave men and women like Captain Tom Moore for risking their lives so people like you can enjoy living your life in safety. 4 us Brits love and respect our military forces past, present and future. The men and women who put their lives on the line to protect us while we live our normal lives and having warm, comfortable homes to live in whilst living in a safe and secure environment. Civilised Societies owe these heroic, brave and incredible men and women who serve my country as well as our Allies our support, respect and love to not only them but there families. 💂♂️💂♂️💂♂️💂♂️💂♂️💂♂️💂♂️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

God Bless this man from a American Army Infantry veteran myself,my uncle landed June 7 and was KIA at Brest while taking the harbor there in WW2
Congratulations Colonel Sir.
Dazza if you say colonel, sir is redundant
@@thatgymguy.9869 I'm assuming he's hinting at his desire to see Tom Knighted. In which case, his correct title would be, Colonel, Sir Tom Moore.
Salute to you Capt. Moore, now Colonel 👍👍👍...🇬🇧
Thank you Tom Moore
What a legend, what a geezer, what a man.
Captain Sir Thomas Moore: April 30/1920 - February 2/2021. Gone yet not forgotten, Rest in Peace
I absolutely adore this man. I have done nothing but sob from the story broke on BBC. I haven't admired or respected a man like this since my father passed away. He has singlehandedly pulled an entire nation together with his spirit and dedication. That's what we needed to get though this crisis, a captain of the second world war and that glorious Dunkirk spirit 💙
I had goosebumps the entire time watching this. Thank you for your service, Captain Tom Moore. 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🇬🇧
A true British hero. Modest and resolute.
He might be British, but he's an inspiration to the modern world
Two great virtues sadly much amiss in the world of today.
@@crazyfishmonster459 good thing i have them... ok modesty is a roll the dice and ditch the results, but i lack needed discipline in areas, that am hoping to resolve in the coming months, i intend to be the change i want to see, we really have lost our spines in the recent years, we met a minor issue with cataclysmic responses, for no reason, but i digress
This guy optimises British spirit and dedication.
Hero!
Sir Tom Moore Statue would be a very fitting tribute.
As a father of a soldier, how is it possible that some of our
fellow humans gave this a thumbs down. Explain yourselves.
We honor you Tom. Lest we forget.
A true gentleman and unassuming hero.
What a classy man...inspirational...
An absolute gentleman they dont make this model anymore, sir my total respect and good health to you.sorry those dislikes on this clip, you should be ashamed of yourselves
those who dislike the heroes are bound to be villains, even if the hero is an ass, hating them for being a hero is the key thing
Pawn of the government is being used to distract from ppe shortages, he's a decent bloke probably but the media attention is disproportionate.

Being from the USA I say cheers to Captain Tom Moore. An inspiration to all.
This is an absolutely lovely way to honour a great old veteran a promotion and the awarding of an overlooked medal. I hadn't heard of Colonel Moore before this but what he has done for the NHS there in Britain is a fantastic thing and this Australian genuinely and most sincerely thanks him for his war service in the Far East.
God Bless you Captain Tom.
A true hero and a good inspiration for the future generations to come .
I notice that they gave him three cases of Timothy Taylor's Landlord as well: a great Yorkshire beer! The man is not just a war hero and inspiration but he knows what is good beer! 🍺
I did notice that too! Never had it before, but I'll give it a try now.

First and foremost, as a European I'd like to express my gratitude to Col. Tom Moore and his fellow comrdes for liberating my grandparents during Europes darkest time. And from soldier to soldier, congratulations on the promotion and the bling, truly well deserved.
Captain /Colonel Tom Moore i myself and the whole world would be honored to be able to salute you Sir !!!!! You are not just an inspiration but a Legend and a Hero, thank you for your service......
Well done Colonel Moore.
I never really asked my Grandfather about his experience at Calais as he would just talk a little bit about it, then change the subject. After he had died, my Mum bought me a book about the aftermath of Dunkirk and the soldiers march into captivity. I then began to research it and have found The Siege of Calais it to be a fascinating story of bravery on the part of the British soldiers that were there. The 1st Bn, The Rifle Brigade were captured in their entirety and the story has been recounted by few people, including Airey Neave.
if you have a relative that went through that War, ask the questions now, before it is too late.
And I’m an Irish soldier (still serving) congratulations, sir. You will undoubtedly inspire many young soldiers to go above and beyond what’s expected of them for many years.
I worked in aged care australia and I honour and like to show my respect to you Sir with my comment. May you enjoy the rest of your life here on earth and stay blessed with more healthy & longevity.

Col (Capt) Tom Moore, A true warrior for over 75 years and when his country needs him the most. What an honorable man to raise money for the NHS. Even I (a military historian) wondered about him not wearing a Defense Medal; he was awarded a well earned, long past decoration. What an inspiration to the Armed Forces, Army, Britain and the world.
