There was no confusion, nothing was "lost in translation" , no mixups or innocent errors. These grifters knew exactly what they were doing. From the start they traded on her father's good name and public reputation for their own selfish profit.

The daughter and family was paid £150k for their services and the charity gave out £150k, split between 3 charities. Approving 3 charities must be very hard work if their management fees costed the around the same as the money given to charities. I guess in her mind, charity start at home....her home.

Sorry but I think Tom was on to it.
I’ve never met him but I gather those that have don’t see him as a sweet old man, like father like daughter.
It’s strange, but ingenious that just as Hannah was announcing how broke they were trying to blame Covid, but remember Colin has been bankrupt more than once owing HMRC millions along with the poor smaller companies that he never paid, just wrote it all off because he could claiming bankruptcy without a thought to how the smaller companies were going to cope, something I hate as it’s sheer greed,
All of a sudden Tom and the family decided to count laps in order to raise money, anybody counting? knowing damn well that they could siphon off a few million here and there and what a fantastic way of making them look oh so good as his daughter controlled the whole situation .Nobody who wants to do good charity works appoints themselves a huge salary as CEO ,they do it for nothing, but not the Ingram Moores.
If they were so broke where did they find the money to build a Spa in the first place? More worrying what was their next move going to be? Must have been something about and including the Spa. If it went ahead I wouldn’t have been at all surprised if they rented it out to NHS purposes for a huge amount. After all,she charged a fortune just to be in the limelight.
It all stinks.I feel sorry for their children having been paraded about the Country and let’s face it,kids can be very cruel and they might have to live with this for a very long time.

Regarding hospital staff, they are well paid and they do not need to visit food banks. Also, you obviously don't know how food banks work. You can't just stroll along (unless you are a fake refugee). You have to apply first and get approval.
You are correct that the posh lady is a grifter but you are not correct in suggesting that she worked hard. I'd say she was a puppet grifter - a useful puppet who got a bit too greedy.

I was one of the fools who bought "Tomorrow will be a good day" a few days after it arrived on the shelves. I did not finish the biography as not only was it dull but from what I recall after reading between the lines, Captain Tom in his younger life was presented at times as not a pleasant person. No surprise now that the genes have passed down. I agree with a previous comment "He should have brought his children up better."

My father was in the military and the thought of him going on a game show is unthinkable.
The family aren’t ‘old money’ ,their money came from the general public that they couldn’t be trusted to spend properly.
Imagine being able to buy a socking great house, live the life of a millionaire and when it all goes wrong, saying oops silly me,and hoping that the rest of we hardworking people pay our taxes so we could keep them going.

Um, did anybody actually count the ‘laps’? I often wonder whether Tom,not Captain Tom as he shouldn’t be using the prefix Captain, wasn’t in on the scam as well, after all, apples tend not to fall far from the tree. What went on behind the house? It’s intriguing to compare the slow shuffling old man with his zimmer frame to the same man who shot across the lawn to meet the Queen at a much faster pace.
To describe him as a war hero is insulting to those that actually were.Teaching people to ride motorcycles far from the real fighting is not a war hero.
Also, I notice that his daughter is always by his side wherever he goes,to stop him blurting out something that raises suspicion?
When people want to give something to others, they tend to write it down,it’s called a will.
Given that Colin has been bankrupt more than once shows that neither of them can be trusted to spend other peoples money.

It's what people did then and the fact that he was away from his family for six years and suffered severe illness while doing it shows that it was no easy thing.
