Most pinball repairs techs say only to use Novus 2 only if the playfield has mylar added but to never use Novus on the playfield. I'm not sure what else to use besides Novus on Non-Mylar playfields but what did you use before Novus was made to clean playfields?
I don’t agree with the whole “don’t use Novus 2 on playfields”. It’s worked fine for me on a number of games. Just gotta be careful and not overly do it but that’s true with a lot of things. I follow it up with a wax to help protect the surface. Before using Novus 2, I usually vacuum and wipe the surfaces down with naptha. Novus where needed but a certain amount polishes just fine. I’ve only had one time where I rubbed to hard and for too long to slightly damage paint on a ‘60’s Gottlieb EM. Otherwise no problems. Not sure what else to suggest as an alternative.
@@LeebosPinball I mix Teflon and RAW carnauba wax. Apply 5-7 coats and buff. I have been using this technique for years and have had excellent results. Even after several hundreds of plays, the PF still looks wet.
Thanks

@@Jenda-ld8dj interesting. Thanks for the feedback.
@@Jenda-ld8dj Do you buff after each coat of wax, or apply your desired number of wax coats (letting it dry between coats), then buff it all out once?
