I was so tickled to see you use the Silicone Lubricant (Not Caulk). My background is in Broadcast Engineering where I learned to use the Silicone Lubricant. Rubber O Rings are used in Transmission Lines that must be air and water tight. The Silicone Lubricant keeps them that way.

Hope it fits mine, lol. I have a horizontal shaft 4hp Tecumseh engine with a metal gas tank on an Ariens sno-thro made back in 1965. The old grommet doesn't leak, but the shutoff valve connected to it does. I just ordered a whole kit. New grommet, valve, line and fuel filter.

Great video! Actually I have a Husqvarna yth2448 mower I've replaced carb fuel pump filter air filter fuel filter still runs for little while then dies so I went to install a shut off inline found mine line had a pin hole so it's all apart got tank out gonna replace the grommet also. Thanks for sharing be safe have fun

Having same problem. I don think its the lines becasue the bowl always has gas in it. I drain some to ck fuel. I replaced the carb kit except for the 2 o rings on jets. The jets looked fine with a magnify glass. The coil isnt quitting bc I put a light on it and still sparks after it dies. WTF? Briggs commerical 25 hp on ZTrac.

Why not use the orange ones made of Viton which resist ethanol fuel better than black rubber.

What else can you use other than silicone paste? WD40, any lubricant? If the rubber bushing is damaged (& the gas tank is not sealed properly). Is that the reason why I could not start my riding lawnmower because the gas won't get to the engine?

Yeah, my generator started leaking like a sieve. Had to collect 2.5 gallons in a bucket. That can be a very hazardous situation.

As per an expert on small engines he told me there's actuall two sizes - 1/2" and 9/16" (for the Kohler Magnum engines). Is this correct?

What is the hard line that goes through the grommet called? The one that goes inside the gas tank. All I can find is the line that goes from the tank to the pump
