Thanks for the product tip! A word of advice: Carb cleaner leaves a residue. Instead, use either MAF sensor cleaner or throttle body cleaner or brake clean.
Excellent tip thanks!
Your video was great to watch, you're a great personality for the screen, thanks for the info.
Haha glad you appreciate my humor.
Looks like a squirrel chewed through the top of my lawnmower tank. I need to find a you tube video on fabricating a silencer for my .22 rifle. Should be easy.
ua-cam.com/video/EEgLV60QweE/v-deo.html
Check that out covers all ya need to know about catching a city squirrel
Liter plastic pop bottle! 💥🔫
P.S. I had two rods in my leg from a IDOIT driver slamming on his brakes for a #@$% squirrel! My motorcycle clipped his bumper and total my Kawasaki Concours.
Nice. Reservoir tanks don't go cheap and is only a tiny crack what it has
Right that tank is over $100
Great video! RIP Bill 😢 🙏!
Thank you sir, you are the first one to mention Bill and I appreciate that.
I had this issue and using sealant or plastic weld only lasts a season. My tip is clean just like you did and get filament for a 3D printer and weld it with a soldering iron and the filament.
Great video! Great Advice "Keep an eye on it" who knows it may out last the mower. I agree with the other commenter, Brake clean would have been a better choice. I think Germans like hot/warm beer, Did they ever sale Bush beer in Texas?
Yep Bush is a staple down here
I appreciate you sharing your knowledge. I have an issue with my Z724 Kubota zero turn. I used one of my pressure washers fuel strainer in my zero turn to keep dirt and grass out of the fuel tank since it never had one before. It's been working as a fuel strainer well for almost 7 years, but the other day, the damn thing just fell inside of the fuel tank. I've tried sucking it out with my wet vac with no luck at all. Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated and continued success with your video series. Thanks in advance.
Haha I can feel your frustration from here. If it were me I would just leave it in there and install a little inline fuel filter. Am sure it won’t hurt anything as long as the gas flows.
Nice call on the bat phone 🤣 great walkthrough Mower Mike, its good it gives you a few minutes working time. We have also subbed to your RU channel. Keep up the greatness 🤘🏽
Haha was trying to do a whole skit about the Apollo mission’s call to Houston, was a stretch. Glad y’all jumped on the new channel. We will have a new RU podcast soon should be good
@@MowerMike of course we had to jump in on that, you guys rock RU. Keep us laughing and learning at the same time.
The only thing that Bothers Me, watch making the patch too big, because of where the patch sets in the frame??
Nah more is always good.
You can use plastic pack for separe you fingers off the putty. It work with more liquid stuffs, for keep it in place.
God bless old Bill. Great video
Thanks Ronald, Bill was a great man. Sucks not having him around
On the John Deere gas tank it is pretty much like a Toro SS5000 gas tank that split on the bottom where the two halves meet. Use the s shaped hot staples about a 1/4" apart and cover with black gasket maker after the tabs are removed and should never come apart again
I am familiar with the issue but can not picture how you would fix a gas tank with hot staples and black gasket. You should make a video on that.
I’m here cause my JD zero turn z90 gas tank is leaking in that exact spot! So pissed!
What I'd like to know is after heavy use, is it still not leaking in 2 weeks 6 months or or a year. I have an almost impossible to find replacement gas tank for my ATV four-wheeler. The color of tank looks very similar opaque white.. there's about a inch wide hole at the very bottom of the tank so it is sitting in gas all the x... I have tried so many different types of patches and they have all failed after just a week or so. They pop off or start losing fuel. I'm so frustrated... Brian... Give me a personal email answer at brianandcat8@gmail.com.... Thanks
I did it and it only lasted about a week and a half. Then it started leaking through the hardened putty. What did I do wrong?
No idea.
Hi, could this product work for any plastic motorcycle tank? I have one with a small but constant leak.
Am sure it could
Any idea how to pre drill a polyurethane water tank to install a pump
Just get a hole saw bit.
Will it work on a seam?
Doubt it
I enjoyed your little skit. 😐
Haha it was sooo lame I am glad someone appreciates it
Did it seal well and lasted well?
I have no idea. That mower is long gone. Do this at your own risk
I think I would use those cheap latex exam gloves to keep skin oils out of the mix..
I wish I did
pretty good repair, at least it looks like it's on >top< of the tank.
Ya the repair turned out great, can’t say the same for my acting lol
Thanks Mike repair video
Glad it helped
Actually tried the stuff tried three of them put together didn't even have holes in the tank really more like severe scratches just barely penetrating the plastic. anyway like I said I put three of these things together sure it holds for the first two days but then it becomes separated from the plastic doesn't actually stick so back to square one
Make sure to sand the plastic and clean it with some carb cleaner to make sure it is clean first. If ya did that then sorry I lead ya astray.
@@MowerMike i have this stuff on my auto scrubber tank ....5 years strong. The stuff works if prepped right
Can it get hot I’m thinking about using it but it’s gonna be close to a motor 220 degrees max
No idea, good luck!
I have 07 Dodge nitro discontinued. The fuel tank EAP nipple broke off. The only option is from a junkyard, but they punctal a hole to drain the gas. Would this be plausible to fix that the part I need comes with the fuel tank
Don’t know until you try
Thank you amigo!!
De nada
Have you done a throttle cable replacement on an LGTX1050?
Yes they are easy. Just start unscrewing the holders. You can figure it out
@@MowerMike Thanks man. At first I thought I was gonna have to take the tank/dash off! But the I found the two bolts that hold the lever on. Lol
I welded my expansion tank with a soldering iron.
and added new plastic
Good on ya!
The gas doesn’t eat up the product?
No it is specific for use with fuel tanks
Where can i buy here in the philippines
How would I know that?
The glue is good, ihave been ise.this type of glue before, now i can't get it,not sale my country..
Bummer what country is that?
Thanks for your tutorial. Another technique is using super glue and baking soda gradually filling the hole with a buildup of glue, baking soda, glue etc. until filled.
Very cool idea
I have the same tank... Same spot.. LOL CUb Cadet LTX 1045
Lol such a bad design. Check out my latest video on why Cub Cadets sucks
Thanks
You are welcome!
I should know but what sort of plastic are fuel tanks made of? Not HDPE is it? Because HDPE bonds to virtually nothing but itself...pain in the posterior!🤬👎
I have no idea
HDPE can be sealed with plastic welding it. I use a torch and pieces of bucket heat it up slap it on then heat it up until it mixes and it hardens 100% solid. Just did it on my pressurized water sprayer and even under pressure no leaks at all
Did it hold in the lawnmower from leaking? I have same tank cub cadet
Sure did
THAT WAS WATER, YOU SHOULD OF LEFT IT OVER NIGHT WITH THE GASOLINE THEN SHOWED US, THEY DRILL THE GAS TANKS @ PICK & PULL, SO I WILL JAVE TO PATCH IT. THANK YOU
I should have done a lot of things differently in that video, the comedy is rough! But got to go with whatcha got. Just read the directions on the tube don’t listen to me.
@@MowerMike OKAY, THANKS BRO, IT'S A EMERGENCY THIS DAMN TRUCK HAS BEEN PARKED OVER A YEAR, LET ME DO MY GAS TANK I HOPE IT WORKS,
@@jrgee173 Atleast all the old gas drained out haha. Good luck
How long did it last?
No idea that mower is long gone.
@@MowerMikeThanks for the reply. I found a cheap enough new tank. Was for a small outboard.
A pitcher full of stuff, your organization skills caused me to laugh my a%& off.
Haha that is my goal my man, thanks for the comment
Awesome thx
Glad it helped
Tried exact same product on Yamaha plastic tank. Followed directions. failed after 2 days.
Bummer
Shit! You just don’t stop talking you yanks😂 Great video😘
Haha first time I have been called a Yank! Thanks for listening to my ramblings
Can you use jb weld.
You can use whatever you want my man. As long as she stops leaking. Just remember fuel will eat through anything not rated to hold fuel back.
How long will it stay on
No idea
Yeah, I just started looking for a safe repair and soldering irons??? On a gas tank full of fumes?? Okay I shall watch more for hopefully a better fix!!! Tiny hole in rotavator fuel tank :/
Right! That is why I made this goofy video
That is Al ok butt will it hold in petrol tank?? And Hove long will it hold??
Forever and ever
Le grillage sert si le trou est trop grand et doit être installé en premier 😜
Wow my first comment in French (I think that is French???) It is dealers choice on using the mesh or not, it isn’t needed for smaller holes. Je Dois partir!
😂its ugly and $13 for glue. I got a nice 5 gallon, yellow diesel fuel tank for $23. I am happy with it.
I am happy you are happy Tony.
