You have no idea how many useless videos I had to sift through to get to this amazing drawing with real crayons, and not some silly challenge or kids tutorial or "melted art", or pencils, or "oil pastels". This is what I wanted to see, a beautiful picture being painted with that special waxy look.
Man! That box of 100 crayons looks so nice! 😭❤ I haven't used crayons in so long, this was really nostalgic to watch! Nothing like opening a fresh box of crayons!
Katy Vaughan Art Maybe you could do a second drawing that utilizes the colors you didn't use here? (All the cool tones). You don't see much crayon art at this high a level so I'm interested to see more! 😂
You can tell so much about an Artist by watching them use non-standard art supplies! Now we all have used crayons as kids, and there are professional level crayons, I like the neocolor II from A Swiss company. Caran D’Ache. (Spoken : Karen Dash or Dosh) This is a wonderful picture, you have made a lovely picture from the most basic art tool! I am enjoying watching your videos I look forward to watching more of your videos in the new year!
Very nice ! I use Crayons in drawings as well as colored pencils soft pastels. Oil pastels The secret is blending, and not putting to much wax on the paper .
I have used them did a good eastern Rosella but not confident ,I think you use solvents to smooth them, thinking to use crayons on canvas because colours are so bright but not sure cheers
The metallic pencils are amazing for Coloring Bibles. I am no artist. I showed what I had done to a friend and she thought the Bible had come colored that way! The bronze is one cool puppy
Crayons are the bane of my existence. XD I used them all the time when I first started out along with colored pencils and it was both fun and time consuming.
Thank you for this video! I really am interested in working with affordable art projects, and I wanted to see what a crayon piece looked like. I think I wanna do something like this myself!
I personally love crayons so much! It gives such a cool unique style if you use them like an artist and not a child :p with shading and blending and stuff.. I don't know it's just so easy and fast for me, I've done some still life of fruits because I was studying form shading and I do really well with crayons I don't know why but I make less mistakes and I draw really fast. Usually I'm terrible at drawing without a lot of help, like so many references and tracing parts and so much erasing, but with crayons for some reason it's so smooth and easy, idk why... I'm definitely going to be using them more for certain things, it has a cool effect too.
this is fantastic i cant wait to try and do this my self a good way to get rid of unwanted shards is dab and brush the page with kitchen roll/ kitchen paper
I have been searching to see someone color auburn hair with crayons and well you nail it.What colors did you use.I am coloring a picture for my aught and I want it to look good
in 1989 I met a crayola artist at a community festival. She earned extra money by making pet portraits with crayolas. This lady was amazing! She would sharpen her crayons until they were nubbs and achieved very realistic portraits. In time we became friends. I suggested she contact Crayola to tell them about her art and maybe they might be able to sponsor her with crayons for her art. A man from the company did come to visit he but he showed very little interest and she was dismissed. I felt so bad for her especially since she was only 3 feet tall and was a dwarf. She lived only on her social security check so the extra help of sponsorship would have been good for her, but the company didn't see her talent.
I've been getting into bullet journaling and it's such a struggle to find paper that won't bleed with any medium, so I've been thinking crayons would be the way to go because they don't bleed through any paper, and after using crayons, I've noticed I can put markers, even sharpies and there is no bleeding. You didn't have a very pointed end on them, so I guess it's possible to do any image without a sharp point. Thanks
I had been wondering if it was possible to do something like that with crayons, but never had the guts to experiment, now I want to , and I was wondering if you have done or would be willing to do a video on doing a train with crayola crayons.
Katy Vaughan Art Okay, I have done oil paintings of trains and trolleys but have wondered if they would look good done in crayons, my painting studio is in my garage and in the winter and summer I would prefer to work on my art in my room but I can't quite do that because of the fumes from the paint thinner. I would like to do some art media in my room other than acrylics which I'm not too good at.
1:29 it would be really nice if you told us HOW to blend the colors the way you do, HOW hard/light do you press down. Not speeding up the video so we can see the type of strokes you take.
As art teacher watching this, I'm impressed with your use of crayons.
Thank you 😊
Thank you 🥰

Wow, I never knew you can use so many color palettes and detail with crayons.
It's quite surprising what you can do with them!
Man! That box of 100 crayons looks so nice! 😭❤ I haven't used crayons in so long, this was really nostalgic to watch! Nothing like opening a fresh box of crayons!
Haha the smell was so strong! It was slightly disappointing that I couldn't use all of them!

Good luck with the bullet journalling 🤗
now i know how to use crayons.....U know like oil pastels hehehe
What paper are you using?
Goes to show you don't need expensive supplies to create a good piece of art.
That's right, it can make it harder but I always say that art supplies don't make an artist 😊
Katy Vaughan Art vey true
wow, what kind of paper did you use??
I think I used card for it. Something thicker than printer paper.
@@KatyVaughanArt ok, thanks for answer
I will try to draw something with crayons... even if a very cheap crayons haha

Thank you for your comment! As in drawing a train? I haven't drawn a train on my channel yet! I will have a think about it.
